Description
- Die Erfindung betrifft ein Kabel, welches zur Verwendung im Brennstoffbereich bzw. in Bereichen geeignet ist, in denen Brennstoffe auftreten können.
- Elektrische oder optische Kabel und Leitungen sollen in der praktischen Anwendung unterschiedlichen Einwirkungen, insbesondere mechanischen und chemischen Einwirkungen standhalten. Für diverse Anwendungsbereiche wird zudem eine gute Feuerfestigkeit der Kabel für den Funktionserhalt im Brandfall gefordert. Die Beschaffenheit der einzelnen Funktionseinheiten des Kabels, der elektrischen oder optischen Leiter, der Leiterisolationen, von allfälligen Abschirmungen und des Kabelmantels, sind daher entsprechend den Anforderungen auszugestalten.
- Hohe Anforderungen an die mechanische und chemische Beständigkeit bestehen insbesondere beim Einsatz von Kabeln im Offshore-Bereich, bei Öl- und Gasbohrungen oder im Schiffsbau und der Seefahrt. In diesem Anwendungsbereich werden Kabel oft durch Zonen hindurch geführt, in denen Brennstoffe oder Rückstände von Brennstoffen vorhanden sind. Oft sind Brennstoffrückstände in Schmutzrückständen, im Erdbereich und insbesondere in Materialien vorhanden, die aus dem Erdreich gefördert werden. Üblicherweise sind im Bohrschlamm, welcher sich an einer Bohrstelle ansammelt, leicht brennbare Ölanteile vorhanden.
- Kabel, welche für diese Einsatzgebiete bestimmt sind, müssen eine hohe Beständigkeit gegenüber diversen chemischen Substanzen aufweisen, so auch gegenüber Meereswasser, Kohlenwasserstoffe, Öle, Bohrflüssigkeiten und Schlamm, insbesondere Bohrschlamm.
- Anforderungen an die Kabel sind durch nationale und internationale Normen vorgegeben, wobei üblicherweise die Norm NEK (Norsk Elektroteknisk Komitee) 606 zur Anwendung kommt.
- Für die nachfolgenden Ausführungen werden folgende Definitionen verwendet:
- "Bohrschlamm" bezeichnet ein Fluid mit komplexer Mixtur welches im Zusammenhang mit Öl- und/oder Gasbohrungen sowie sonstigen Erdbohrungen produziert und/oder angewendet wird.
- "Schlammbeständig" bezeichnet die Beständigkeit gegenüber Bohrschlamm gemäss NEK 606:2004.
- Aufgrund der möglichen Brennbarkeit von Bohrschlamm und dergleichen, ist es erforderlich, dass die Kabel für den Brandfall vorbereitet und mit einer flammhemmenden Schutzhülle versehen werden. Ein entsprechendes Kabel ist aus der
EP2115093B1 bekannt. - Brandfälle in den genannten Anwendungsgebieten haben oft schwerwiegende Folgen für Menschen, Umwelt und Material, weshalb es wünschenswert wäre, technische Ausrüstungen und verwendete Kabel dahingehend zu verbessern, so dass derartige Unfälle vermieden oder die Auswirkungen bei Störfällen gelindert werden können.
- Der vorliegenden Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zu Grunde, ein weiter verbessertes Kabel zu schaffen, welches in Bereichen verwendbar ist, in denen Brennstoffe vorhanden sind oder auftreten können.
- Insbesondere soll ein Kabel mit Eigenschaften geschaffen werden, die das Risiko senken, dass Brandfälle und Explosionen insbesondere in diesen gefährdeten Bereichen auftreten.
- Ferner soll das Kabel schlammbeständig sein.
- Weiterhin soll das Kabel über eine gute Temperaturbeständigkeit verfügen und in einem weiten Temperaturbereich zumindest zwischen -40°C und +80°C einsetzbar sein.
- Diese Aufgabe wird mit einem Kabel gelöst, welches die in Anspruch 1 angegebenen Merkmale aufweist. Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind in weiteren Ansprüchen angegeben.
- Das Kabel, das zur Verwendung in Brennstoffbereichen vorgesehen ist, umfasst zumindest einen elektrischen und/oder zumindest einen optischen Leiter, eine Isolationsschicht, welche den zumindest einen Leiter umschliesst sowie einen Aussenmantel, welcher die vorgenannten Bestandteile umschliesst.
- Erfindungsgemäss ist der Aussenmantel aus einer Polymermischung gefertigt, die ein antistatisches Additiv beinhaltet.
- Laboruntersuchungen haben ergeben, dass auf der Aussenfläche des Kabelmantels (auch Aussenmantel genannt) statische Entladungen auftreten können, die zur Entzündung eines Brennstoffs, insbesondere eines gasförmigen Brennstoffs, beitragen können, der in einer genügend hohen Konzentration vorliegt. Es wurde festgestellt, dass statische Entladungen sowohl zwischen dem Kabelmantel und einem Drittkörper, als auch zwischen unterschiedlich stark aufgeladenen Aussenflächen verschiedener Abschnitte des Kabelmantels auftreten können, falls z.B. unterschiedliche Windungen des Kabels aufeinander liegen.
- Durch die Dotierung des Aussenmantels mit dem antistatischen Additiv wird diese Gefahrenquelle ausgeschlossen und verhindert, dass statische Entladungen und dadurch verursachte Funken auf der Oberfläche des Kabelmantels auftreten und dadurch Brände oder Explosionen verursachen.
- In einer bevorzugten Ausgestaltung wird das antistatische Additiv dem Mantelmaterial in einer solchen Menge beigegeben, dass ein Oberflächenwiderstand des Aussenmantels resultiert, der kleiner als 109Ohm und grösser als 104Ohm ist. Besonders bevorzugt wird das antistatische Additiv dem Mantelmaterial in einer solchen Menge beigegeben, dass der Oberflächenwiderstand des Aussenmantels kleiner als 108Ohm und grösser als 107Ohm ist. Durch diese geeignete Wahl der Beimischung des Objektivs resultiert ein Aussenmantel, der einerseits die gewünschten Isolationseigenschaften aufweist und anderseits keine statischen Entladungen zeigt.
- In einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausgestaltung ist der Aussenmantel aus mehreren, bevorzugt zumindest zwei, Schichten aufgebaut. Der Aussenmantel umfasst vorzugsweise eine Oberschicht, welche aus einem Material gefertigt ist, dem das antistatische Additiv derart beigemischt ist, dass ein Oberflächenwiderstand des Aussenmantels resultiert, der zwischen 109Ohm und 104Ohm, vorzugsweise zwischen 108Ohm und 107Ohm liegt.
- Die wenigstens eine Unterschicht wird hingegen aus einem anderen Material gefertigt, welches hinsichtlich der geforderten mechanischen, chemischen oder elektrischen Eigenschaften des Kabels optimiert ist. Im Vergleich zu einem einschichtigen Aussenmantel können mittels dieses mehrschichtigen Kabelmantels verschiedene Eigenschaften optimiert werden.
- Vorzugsweise ist das Material der Unterschicht derart gewählt, dass das Kabel betreffend Flammwidrigkeit die Normen IEC 60332-1 und/oder 60332-3 oder eines analogen Prüfprotokolls erfüllt.
- Der Aussenmantel oder die Oberschicht werden vorzugsweise mittels eines Extrusionsverfahrens gefertigt.
- Die einzelnen Leiter, welche im Kabel enthalten sind, können jeweils einzeln oder gruppiert durch eine Schicht umschlossen sein, die der Abschirmung gegen elektromagnetische Strahlung dient.
- In einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausgestaltung ist der Aussenmantel oder, sofern der Kabelmantel mehrschichtige aufgebaut ist, zumindest die Oberschicht des Kabelmantels nach NEK 606:2009schlammbeständig ausgebildet.
- In einer bevorzugten Ausgestaltung ist der Aussenmantel aus einem Polymer-basierten Material, vorzugsweise einem thermoplastischen Polymer, weiter bevorzugt einem thermoplastischen Polyurethan, gefertigt.
- Erfindungsgemäss ist der Gewichtsanteil des antistatischen Additivs in der Polymermischung für das Material des Aussenmantels so gewählt, dass ein Oberflächenwiderstand des Aussenmantels resultiert, der zwischen 109Ohm und 104Ohm, vorzugsweise zwischen 108Ohm und 107Ohm liegt. Vorzugsweise beträgt der Gewichtsanteil des antistatischen Additivs 0.1% bis 10%, weiter bevorzugt 0.1% bis 2%.
- Nachfolgend wird die Erfindung anhand von Zeichnungen näher erläutert. Dabei zeigt:

Fig. 1 zeigt einen Querschnitt eines erfindungsgemässen Kabels 10. Ein elektrischer Leiter1 ist von einer gleichmässigen Isolationsschicht 2 umgeben. Auf der Isolationsschicht 2 ist ein Aussenmantel 3 aufgebracht. Alternativ kann anstelle des elektrischen Leiters 1 ein optischer Leiter 1 verwendet werden. Ebenso können zwischen der Isolationsschicht 2 und dem Aussenmantel 3 weitere Polymer-basierte Schichten oder Schirmgeflechte angeordnet sein, die der Abschirmung dienen. -
Fig. 2 zeigt einen Querschnitt eines erfindungsgemässen Kabels 10 in einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausgestaltung. Mehrere elektrische oder optische Leiter 1 sind je von einer Isolationsschicht 2 umschlossen. Die isolierten Leiter 1 sind untereinander durch einen Innenmantel 4 verbunden bzw. in einem Innenmantel 4 angebetet. Zwischen dem Innenmantel 4 und der Unterschicht des Aussenmantels 3a wird vorzugsweise eine optionale Abschirmung 5 angeordnet. Der Aussenmantel des Kabels 10 besteht aus einer aussen liegenden Oberschicht 3 und einer Unterschicht 3a. Die Unterschicht 3a und die Oberschicht 3 des Aussenmantels können auch in einer einzelnen Schicht ausgeführt sein. Die Anzahl der Leiter 1 ist beliebig wählbar. - Nachfolgend wird die Erfindung anhand von Ausführungsbeispielen näher erläutert:
- Das Material für den Aussenmantel eines erfindungsgemässen Kabels wurde gemäss Tabelle 1 gefertigt. Die Compoundierung von Basismaterial und Antistatikum bzw. des antistatischen Additiv wurde jeweils mittels Dry-Blend-Verfahren durchgeführt. Die Elastollan® Materialien wurden von BASF bezogen, das Antistatikum 110346 NP TPU AS Masterbatch von PolyOne.
- Tabelle 2 zeigt gemessene Werte für relevante Materialkennwerte für die Beispiele 1-8. Die erfindungsgemässen Beispiele 1-6 zeigen gute mechanische Werte im Vergleich zu den Vergleichsbeispielen 7 und 8. Die Zugabe des antistatischen Additivs vermindert die Zugfestigkeit und Bruchdehnung nur geringfügig.
- Tabelle 3 zeigt den Oberflächenwiderstand der Beispiele 1-8 nachdem die Materialien einer Alterung im Salzwasser gemäss UL 1309 unterzogen wurden. Der Oberflächenwiderstand wird durch die Lagerung im Salzwasser vermindert, die erfindungsgemässen Beispiele 1-6 sind jedoch sowohl vor als auch nach der Lagerung im Salzwasser im gewünschten Widerstandsbereich zwischen n * 109Ohm und m * 107Ohm.
- Tabelle 4 zeigt die Zugfestigkeit und die Bruchdehnung der Beispiele 1-8 nachdem die Materialien an Luft während 7 Tagen bei 110°C gealtert wurden, gemäss EN 60811-1-2 Abschnitt 8.1.3.1. Die Änderungen bewegen sich in dem durch die Norm erlaubten Bereich.
- Tabelle 5 zeigt die Zugfestigkeit und die Bruchdehnung der Beispiele 1-8 nachdem die Materialien während 7 Tagen bei 100°C im Referenzöl IRM 903 gealtert wurden, gemäss NEK 606:2009. Die Änderungen bewegen sich in dem durch die Norm erlaubten Bereich.

Claims (7)
- Kabel (10) zur Verwendung im Brennstoffbereich, mit- zumindest einem elektrischen und/oder zumindest einem optischen Leiter (1);- einer Isolationsschicht (2), welche den Leiter (1) umschliesst;- einem Aussenmantel (3), welcher die vorgenannten Bestandteile umschliesst und der aus einer Polymermischung gefertigt ist, die auf einem thermoplastischen Polymer basiert und die ein antistatisches Additiv beinhaltet;
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Aussenmantel (3) wenigstens eine Unterschicht (3a) und eine Oberschicht (3b) aufweist, wobei die Oberschicht (3b) schlammbeständig gemäss Norm NEK 606:2009 ausgebildet und mit dem antistatischen Additiv versehen ist, und dass das thermoplastische Polymer ein thermoplastisches Polyurethan ist. - Kabel (10) nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Oberflächenwiderstand des Aussenmantels (3) kleiner als 109 Ohm ist und wenigstens 104 Ohm beträgt.
- Kabel (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Oberflächenwiderstand des Aussenmantels (3) im Bereich zwischen 107 Ohm und 108 Ohm liegt.
- Kabel (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die wenigstens eine Unterschicht (3a) gemäss einer der Normen IEC 60332-1 und IEC 60332-3 flammwidrig oder hoch flammwidrig ausgebildet ist.
- Kabel (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest zwei Leiter (1) vorgesehen sind, die durch eine Abschirmung (5) umfasst ist.
- Kabel (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Aussenmantel (3) oder die Oberschicht (3b) ein Extrusionsprodukt ist.
- Kabel (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Gewichtsanteil des antistatischen Additivs in der Polymermischung zwischen 0.1% und 10%, bevorzugt zwischen 0.1% und 2% liegt.
