  • the present invention is also based on the knowledge that the coating does not necessarily have to be connected to itself after the material hose has been formed, that is, it does not have to be present on the two surfaces to be connected to one another in the material hose. In order to achieve a connection, it is in fact sufficient if the coating is only present on one of the two surfaces to be connected to one another, with the coating, which is preferably liquefied by the supply of temperature during heat sealing, then also on the first non-coated surface can form an intimate connection with the tissue.
  • the coating in the form of a strip only extends in the transverse direction over approximately half of the material web.
  • the plastic fabric bag is designed as a side-gusset bag
  • the coating can be designed as a segmented strip, the strip segments being arranged in such a way that, in the case of the flat-lying side-gusset bag, at least one side is provided with the coating on all surfaces which are to be connected to one another.
  • the coating is applied in the form of crosswise, optionally segmented strips, the strips only extending over 40% to 60% of the width.
  • this information relates to the total length of all strip segments.
  • the coating has a first section and at least one second section adjoining it in the transverse direction, the first section having a first length l 1 and the second section having a greater length l 2 when viewed in the production direction .
  • Such a coating also preferably runs straight or obliquely in the transverse direction.
  • the stripe width changes along the course of the coating, that is to say preferably in the transverse direction. This makes it possible to locally vary the strength of a connection produced using the coating.
  • an area can be provided starting from a bag edge, which only has one narrow connecting seam is closed, the plastic fabric bag then being able to be opened there by hand, while adjacent to it the surfaces lying on one another are connected by a wide connecting seam and are thus permanently fixed.
  • a material tube is formed starting from a flat material web, individual plastic fabric bags then being produced from pieces of the material tube. Accordingly, the coating is carried out along the production direction with a recurring pattern. Irrespective of this, even the coating can be applied in a liquid state with a coating pattern in the areas to be coated. This means that there is no completely continuous layer in the areas to be coated. For example, a coating pattern of intersecting strips can be provided, which due to their structure enable a reliable and tight connection, but a further material saving can be achieved by such a coating pattern.
  • the method according to the invention can not only be used to produce a closure seam in a plastic woven bag. Rather, it is also possible to use the coating to produce corner welds in the area of a bag bottom or to enable the inclusion of further functional elements such as reclosures, valves or the like in the bag, thereby considerably expanding the possible uses of the plastic fabric bag in the context of the invention.

  • a plastic melt or a commercially available hot melt adhesive can be provided as the coating, a clear distinction between a conventional polymer material and a hot melt adhesive not being necessary within the scope of the invention.
  • Suitable plastic melts are, in particular, polyolefins such as polyethylene (PE), PE copolymers, polypropylene (PP) or PP copolymers, low-melting plastics which can be polymerized with the aid of metallocene catalysts being particularly preferred. It is preferably provided that the fabric is applied when the coating is applied and subsequently when the coating is thermally melted at most, it is melted on the surface so that the orientation of the molecules in the individual plastic bands, which is crucial for the load-bearing capacity of the fabric, is not lost. When the coating is applied in the molten state and also during processing, good flowability is advantageous, so that the coating can also penetrate into the fabric structure.

The invention relates to the technical field of plastic fabric bags which have a layer of a fabric made of plastic tapes, the fabric made of plastic tapes being partially exposed on an inside of the bag and partially provided with a coating made of plastic.

Specifically, the invention relates to a method for producing a plastic fabric bag, wherein a flat material web is fed along a production direction, which has a fabric made of plastic tapes exposed there on a first, usually upper side, the material web lying perpendicular to the production direction along a transverse direction, each has edge regions extending over 10% of the width of the material web and a middle section therebetween, the material web being provided with a pattern in the form of a film or in the form of a liquid plastic on the first side of the material web with a pattern recurring along the production direction , wherein the material web is formed into a material tube and wherein pieces are separated from the material tube, filled and sealed to form individual plastic fabric bags.

Plastic fabric bags are characterized by good functional properties, especially a high load-bearing capacity. As a rule, the fabric made of plastic tapes is connected to a polymer film, which forms the outside of the plastic fabric bag. The polymer film on the outside creates a high-quality appearance and seals the bag wall. Furthermore, the individual ribbons of the fabric fixed to each other so that they cannot move. The fabric is preferably made of polypropylene.

The fabric and the polymer film on the outside are connected to each other over a large area and form a firm plastic fabric bond. The polymer film can be prefabricated as a separate film and laminated to the fabric or extruded onto the fabric.

In principle, it is also possible to provide a surface coating, for example in the form of a film, on the inside of the bag, but this increases the material and manufacturing costs significantly.

If the fabric on the inside of the bag is not provided with a coating, the plastic fabric bag is usually closed by adhesive tapes because the fabric made of plastic tapes is not reliable and cannot be heat-sealed.

A generic method for producing a plastic fabric bag and a generic plastic fabric bag are from the DE 10 2011 080 462 A1 known.

In order to be able to also seal a plastic fabric bag by means of heat seals without providing the entire fabric with a coating, a coating is only applied in the form of strips which run in the transverse direction in the case of the flat material web. The strips extend with a constant strip width - that is, a constant length in the direction of production - over almost the entire width, with only the coating on the outer edge areas either being recessed or changes into a continuous coating along the production direction.

Due to the coating running in the transverse direction, a heat seal seam can be produced in order to be able to easily seal the plastic fabric bag. This has the advantage that the coating is only applied where the sealing is subsequently to take place, which results in considerable material savings. As with a plastic fabric bag that is completely coated and sealed on the inside, it must usually be opened with scissors because the fabric made of plastic tapes is difficult to tear.

From the DE 44 31 742 A1 a paper folding bag is known, the paper being provided with a heat-sealable coating, so that when the bag is formed, this coating can be connected to itself after the paper web has been folded.

The present invention has for its object to provide a particularly cost-effective production of a plastic fabric bag, which is characterized by improved functional properties.

The object of the invention and the solution to the problem is a method for producing a plastic fabric bag according to claim 1.

Based on the method described in the introduction, it is provided according to the invention that the application of the coating changes in the transverse direction on the central section. In this context, the present invention is based on the knowledge that the order that changes in the transverse direction on the central section both saves considerable material as well as extended functionalities can be realized. The application of the coating can change in quantity, course and / or shape. In particular, there may be recesses and steps. The proportion of the surface provided with the coating is usually less than 30%, in particular less than 25%, for example between 5% and 20%, based on the total surface of the material web.

In the context of the invention, a film or a plastic is provided as the coating, which is applied in a liquid state. The plastic can in particular also be viscous and can be applied hot or cold. For example, it is possible to melt-melt a polymer melt or a hot-melt adhesive or to apply it by means of suitable transfer processes, for example as a transfer roller.

In principle, it is also conceivable to apply a sealing wax cold, which first dries and then can subsequently be heat-sealed. Furthermore, an adhesive can also be applied, which then causes a connection directly when the film tube is formed, but preferably a coating is provided which is only intended for subsequent heat sealing.

In this context, the present invention is also based on the knowledge that the coating does not necessarily have to be connected to itself after the material hose has been formed, that is, it does not have to be present on the two surfaces to be connected to one another in the material hose. In order to achieve a connection, it is in fact sufficient if the coating is only present on one of the two surfaces to be connected to one another, with the coating, which is preferably liquefied by the supply of temperature during heat sealing, then also on the first non-coated surface can form an intimate connection with the tissue.

If, for example, a simple plastic fabric bag is manufactured in the form of a pillow, it is sufficient if the coating in the form of a strip only extends in the transverse direction over approximately half of the material web. If, on the other hand, the plastic fabric bag is designed as a side-gusset bag, the coating can be designed as a segmented strip, the strip segments being arranged in such a way that, in the case of the flat-lying side-gusset bag, at least one side is provided with the coating on all surfaces which are to be connected to one another.

Against this background, it is therefore provided according to the invention that the coating is applied in the form of crosswise, optionally segmented strips, the strips only extending over 40% to 60% of the width. In the case of a segmented strip, this information relates to the total length of all strip segments.

According to a further aspect of the present invention, it is provided that the coating has a first section and at least one second section adjoining it in the transverse direction, the first section having a first length l 1 and the second section having a greater length l 2 when viewed in the production direction . Such a coating also preferably runs straight or obliquely in the transverse direction. The stripe width changes along the course of the coating, that is to say preferably in the transverse direction. This makes it possible to locally vary the strength of a connection produced using the coating. For example, within the scope of the described configuration, an area can be provided starting from a bag edge, which only has one narrow connecting seam is closed, the plastic fabric bag then being able to be opened there by hand, while adjacent to it the surfaces lying on one another are connected by a wide connecting seam and are thus permanently fixed.

Specific preferred configurations of the plastic fabric bag are explained further below.

According to the invention, a material tube is formed starting from a flat material web, individual plastic fabric bags then being produced from pieces of the material tube.

The method according to the invention can not only be used to produce a closure seam in a plastic woven bag. Rather, it is also possible to use the coating to produce corner welds in the area of a bag bottom or to enable the inclusion of further functional elements such as reclosures, valves or the like in the bag, thereby considerably expanding the possible uses of the plastic fabric bag in the context of the invention.

If the coating is subsequently melted to produce a connecting seam, there are two different options for carrying out the process within the scope of the invention. So it is possible that the entire coating is melted and forms a connecting seam. For this purpose, a heat sealing tool can be provided, for example, which is larger than the coating, so that it is melted over its entire surface. In the course of such a procedure, the shape of the connecting seam is predetermined by the application and the shape of the coating.

According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the at least one connecting seam extends only in part of the coating. In the context of such a configuration, the coating can be provided on a larger area without having to adhere to precise specifications for the shape of the coating. If, for example, a film is provided as the coating, it can have a rectangular shape, the precise course of the connecting seam then being determined only when such a film is melted with the application of heat.

As already described above, a plastic melt or a commercially available hot melt adhesive can be provided as the coating, a clear distinction between a conventional polymer material and a hot melt adhesive not being necessary within the scope of the invention. Suitable plastic melts are, in particular, polyolefins such as polyethylene (PE), PE copolymers, polypropylene (PP) or PP copolymers, low-melting plastics which can be polymerized with the aid of metallocene catalysts being particularly preferred.

In connection with the fabric, there is also the advantage that melted material can penetrate into the interstices of the fabric and can thus bring about a particularly reliable connection.

Polyolefins, in particular polyethylene, are particularly suitable for a film as a coating, such a film preferably being able to be attached to the fabric made of plastic tapes using an adhesive, in particular a pressure sensitive adhesive.

The method according to the invention can also be used to produce a plastic fabric bag with a bag wall which has a layer of a fabric made of plastic tapes, the fabric being exposed in sections on an inside of the bag and being provided with a plastic coating in sections, with the coating being opposite surfaces the bag wall are connected along at least one connecting seam and the connecting seam closes a head region along a transverse direction.

According to a first variant of such an embodiment, it is provided that the connecting seam has at least one step in the transverse direction, the height of the connecting seam determined along a longitudinal direction of the plastic fabric bag changing at the step. Regarding the seam So there is a different width of the connecting seam along its course before and after the step.

As described above, it can be achieved that the connecting seam on the first connecting seam section can be torn open more easily than on the second connecting seam section. By a suitable length of the connecting seam along the longitudinal direction, i. H. that is, a suitable width of the connecting seam along its course can be produced in the transverse direction of the bag, areas of different strength.

Additionally and alternatively, the first connecting seam section can also run obliquely with respect to the longitudinal and transverse directions and / or have an angled portion. Precisely when peeling, that is to say tearing open, of the connecting seam is to be made possible at the first connecting seam section, an oblique course or an angling with regard to the introduction of force can be advantageous during the tearing open.

According to a preferred embodiment, the plastic fabric bag is designed as a side gusset bag, so that the bag wall then forms a front surface, a back surface and a first side gusset and a second side gusset, the two side gussets connecting the front surface and the back surface to one another.

In the case of an embodiment of the plastic fabric bag as a side gusset bag, the step described above is preferably located on an edge of the first side gusset inserted between the front surface and the rear surface. It can then be provided that the side gusset bag is opened by first moving the first between the front surface and the rear surface inserted side gusset pulled outwards and thereby the connecting seam on the first connecting seam section is torn open.

In order to facilitate such a tearing open, it can be provided that the first side fold protrudes at the head region over the front surface and the rear surface. The first gusset can then be easily gripped by a user and pulled outwards.

Additionally or alternatively, a notch can be provided in the front surface and the rear surface adjacent to the first side fold, in which case a user can then grasp the side fold more easily and pull it outwards.

The Fig. 1 shows a material web 1 for the production of a plastic fabric bag. The material web 1 is guided along a production direction P, the material web 1 at the in the Fig. 1 has an initially exposed fabric 2 made of plastic tapes. The material web 1 is provided on the fabric 2 only in sections with a coating 3.

For example, glued-on films or a liquid-applied plastic can be provided as coating 3. The coating 3 is particularly preferably applied as a molten plastic, it being possible for example to extrude it viscously or to apply it with a transfer roller.

The material web 1 is subsequently formed into a material hose in a known manner. According to the exemplary embodiment shown, a side gusseted tube is to be produced from the material web 1 to form side gusset bags, the kink lines 4, 4 'being indicated in the material web 1 which is still lying flat. A first group of fold lines 4 indicates the transition from a front surface 5a or a rear surface 5b to the side folds 6a, 6b, while on a second group of fold lines 4 'the two side folds 6a, 6b are each folded onto themselves. A fin seam is formed on the edges of the material web 1 during manufacture, which is why a coating can also be provided there.

From the Fig. 1 it can be seen that the coating 3 also changes outside the edges at a central section of the material web 1 in the transverse direction Q. Specifically, the coating 3 is formed in the form of a segmented strip 7 running in the transverse direction Q, the strip 7 with its segments covering a little more than 50% of the width of the material web 1 in Cross direction Q extends. If the material web 1 is formed into a gusseted tube along the kink lines 4, 4 ', then, at the level of the coating 3 over the entire width of the gusseted tube, surfaces lie opposite one another, at least one of which is provided with a coating 3, so that when it melts the coating 3 a tight seal can be achieved.

The coating 3 thus fulfills the purpose of an adhesive which is only present in one layer and which then connects the opposite surfaces of the fabric 2. The embodiment shown thus differs from an embodiment in which, according to the prior art, a continuous strip is provided as a coating, which is then only connected to itself.

In the Fig. 1 a separation point 8 running in the transverse direction Q is also indicated, at which individual pieces are then separated from the material hose. When the material hose is severed at the separation point 8, a top seam or a bottom seam can be produced with the coating 3 severed there on successive plastic fabric bags.

The Fig. 2 shows an example of an embodiment not according to the invention, the coating forming different structures. In addition to a strip 7 ′, which is provided as a bottom seam and is designed according to the prior art, a further strip 7 ″ is provided for the formation of a connecting seam 9 on a head region of the plastic fabric bag, on which the coating has 3 steps 10. The extent of the Coating 3 along the production direction P, which in the exemplary embodiment also corresponds to a longitudinal direction L of the plastic fabric bag, changes at step 10. In other words, the corresponding strip 7 "points along its course an area with a smaller stripe width, which also runs obliquely. As also below in connection with the Fig. 5 can be achieved in that the section with a smaller strip width on the first side fold 6a can be easily pulled open.

In the Fig. 2 it is further shown that the contours 3, which are only in sections, can also be used to form other contours, such as, for example, oblique contours, from which connection seams 9 'in the form of corner connections are then subsequently produced.

The Fig. 3 finally shows a combination of the measures according to the invention Fig. 1 and the Fig. 2 , After which the coating 3 is arranged in the form of a segmented strip 7 '", which also changes its shape or has recesses along the production direction P and thus also along the longitudinal direction L of the plastic fabric bags to be manufactured.

In the embodiments according to the 1 to 3 it can be provided that connecting seams 9, 9 'are produced on the entire coating.

However, it is also possible to apply a coating 3 over a large area and then to subsequently determine the shape of the connecting seam 9, 9 'by means of the shape of a heat sealing tool or the like.

According to a configuration not according to the invention Fig. 4 the coating 3 is thus glued onto the fabric 2 in the form of rectangular sheets of film, the inclined connecting seams 9 'to be formed only subsequently being indicated.

The production of a connecting seam 9, 9 'in only a part of the coating 3 can also be provided without restriction in the head region of a plastic fabric bag. For example, starting from the Fig. 2 it should be provided that the coating 3 is applied as a wider strip running in the transverse direction Q, the then in the Fig. 2 indicated structures are only subsequently formed by the shape of a heat sealing tool.

The Fig. 5 finally shows a plastic fabric bag with a bag wall, which, as described above, has a layer of a fabric 2 made of plastic tapes, the fabric 2 being exposed in sections on an inside of the plastic fabric bag and being provided with a coating 3 made of plastic in sections, with the coating 3 against one another opposite surfaces of the bag wall are connected along a plurality of connecting seams 9, 9 '.

Mit anderen Worten ändert sich an der Stufe 10 entlang des Verlaufes der Verbindungnaht 9 die Breite der Verbindungsnaht 9.A connecting seam 9 closes the plastic fabric bag along a transverse direction Q. The connecting seam 9 has a step 10 in the transverse direction Q, the height of the connecting seam 9 determined along the longitudinal direction L changing on the step 10. Specifically, the connecting seam 9 has a first length l 1 in a longitudinal direction L at a first connecting seam section 9a, starting from a lateral bag edge 11 running in the longitudinal direction L, and a greater length l 2 at a second connecting seam section 9b adjoining the step 10. In other words, the width of the connecting seam 9 changes at the step 10 along the course of the connecting seam 9.

Furthermore, it can be seen that the first, narrower connecting seam section 9a runs obliquely and is also provided with an angled portion 12. Due to the smaller width of the first connecting seam section 9a, this can be pulled open by a user, while the second connecting seam section 9b ensures a secure closure of the plastic fabric bag. In order to be able to pull open the first seam section 9a, a user can grip the first side fold 6a and pull it outwards.

In the Fig. 5 it is further shown that the plastic fabric bag can also have a handle opening 13 on its upper bag edge, wherein the coating 3 on the handle opening 13 can optionally be left out.

In the Fig. 5 Connection seams 9 'are also shown in the form of corner welds.

Within the scope of the invention, the coating 3 can also be coated with an Fig. 5 indicated coating pattern 14 are applied to the surfaces to be coated.

Regarding the in Fig. 5 The structure of the connecting seams 9, 9 'shown shows that this structure can be precisely specified by the application of the coating, in particular if a connecting seam 9, 9' or several connecting seams 9, 9 'are formed on the entire surface of the coating 3.

However, it is also possible for the connecting seams 9, 9 ′ to be produced only on part of the coating 3. The advantage then arises that somewhat larger areas are coated when the coating is applied can without having to pay particular attention to accuracy. With regard to the shape of the connecting seams 9, 9 ', there are usually several possible variations in the course of such a procedure.

In an embodiment according to the Fig. 5 To be able to grip the first side fold 6a more easily, this can be done according to the Fig. 6 also be designed such that it extends beyond the front surface 5a and the rear surface 5b or at least the area of the front surface 5a and the rear surface 5b adjoining the first side fold 6a.

Additionally or alternatively, a notch 15 can also be provided in the front surface 5a and the rear surface 5b adjacent to the first side fold 6a in order to be able to grip the side fold 6a more easily.
