- Applicator (3) for applying a product (P) to the eyelashes and/or eyebrows, having an applicator member (10) that is produced by moulding material, this applicator member having:- a core (11) that extends along a longitudinal axis (X),- spikes (12) that are carried by the core (11) and have a convex polygonal cross section with at least six sides, two opposite sides (12a) of which are oriented more or less perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis (X) of the core (11) and form an angle with it of 90° ± 10°, the applicator having, when viewed from the side in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the core, a series of circumferentially extending crowns (40, 41), the number of spikes in one crown (41) being different from that in an adjacent crown (40),the spikes of a given crown being situated between those of the next crown when the applicator member is viewed along the longitudinal axis (X).
- Applicator according to Claim 1, wherein the cross section of the spikes (12) is hexagonal, preferably in the shape of a regular hexagon.

- Applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the spikes are distributed over the core in spike alignments (31, 32) that extend in the longitudinal direction of the core, the alignments (31, 32) being grouped around the core in groups of alignments (30), with preferably two groups (30) being angularly separated by an angular offset (β), about the longitudinal axis (X) of the core (11), that is greater than the angular offset (α) between two adjacent alignments within one and the same group (30).
- Applicator according to Claim 6, wherein each group (30) of spike alignments has spikes (12), of the same rank within the alignments of this group, which have different heights.
- Applicator according to Claim 6 or 7, wherein each group (30) of spike alignments has three spike alignments.
- Applicator according to any one of Claims 6 to 8, wherein each group (30) of spike alignments has two spike alignments (31) with spikes of the same rank having one and the same height, at least for some of the spikes in the alignments.
- Applicator according to any one of Claims 6 to 9, wherein at least one group (30) of spike alignments has two identical spike alignments (31).
- Applicator according to any one of Claims 6 to 10, wherein, within one group (30) of spike alignments, the ratio hmax/hmin between the tallest spike and the shortest spike, of the same rank, in a different alignment, is between 1 and 1.5.
- Applicator according to any one of Claims 4 to 11, wherein each alignment of spikes has spikes (12) of the same height (H3-H9; h3-h10) for a range of values of ranks within this alignment.
- Applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the number of spikes in a crown (41) changes alternately from a number n1 to a number n2 > n1, preferably changing alternately from single to double.
- Applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the core (11) is hollow.
- Applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the spikes (12) extend radially.
- Device for packaging and applying a cosmetic product, having:- a container (2) containing the product to be applied,- an applicator (3) as defined in any one of the preceding claims.
