Description

  • The present invention relates to a washer/dryer that comprises a lock. In washers/dryers, the lid used for loading and unloading the laundry is enabled to be kept in the closed position by means of a lock. Generally, locking is realized by the placement of a tenon disposed on the lid into a lock disposed on the front wall of the body.
  • In the state of the art, the members that form the lock are in grouped state. The lock group is realized by passing the lock orifice into which the tenon enters entirely to the front side from the rear side of the front wall, through an opening disposed on the front wall and by fixing the lock orifice in this position. In the state of the art embodiments, the body, that is mounted to the hole by using methods such as snap-fit or screwing, cannot be easily attached/detached and/or cannot remain in the hole in a steady manner.
  • The fixation process is generally performed by means of screws and this causes increase in terms of both the material cost and the labor cost. In the state of the art, various embodiments are developed related to the mounting of the lock group to the front wall without screws.
  • In the state of the art embodiment, the European Patent Application No. EP1681386 , a washer/dryer is explained, comprising a lock group which is mounted onto the front wall in a snap-fitting manner by being rotated and slid after being inserted from one side.
  • European Patent Application EP 1 674 606 A1 discloses a door locking device according to the preamble of claim 1, comprising two snap locking formations facing in opposite directions from a housing by which the locking device can be secured in an opening of a domestic electrical appliance.
  • International Patent Application WO 2010/1092528 A1 discloses a door-locking device having a protruding structure that extends through an opening provided in a panel of a household appliance and that has two seats provided on opposite sides that engage with corresponding opposite edges of the opening. A member of resilient material provided in one of the seats is deformed by means of compression to a degree such as to allow subsequent engagement of the other seat with the corresponding other edge of the opening of the panel.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of a washer/dryer comprising a lock that can be easily mounted. This aim is achieved by a washer/dryer according to claim 1.
  • By means of the present invention, the lock in the washer/dryer is enabled to be firmly mounted to the front wall.
  • The model embodiments relating to the washer/dryer realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention are illustrated in the attached figures, where:
    • Figure 1 - is the perspective view of a washer/dryer.
    • Figure 2 - is the front view of a washer/dryer.
    • Figure 3 - is the front view of a washer/dryer when the lock body is fixed to the front wall.
    • Figure 4 - is the view of detail A in Figure 3.
    • Figure 5 - is the view of the lock while being mounted to the hole on the front wall in a washer/dryer.
    • Figure 6 - is the view of the lock when mounted to the hole on the front wall in a washer/dryer.

  • The washer/dryer (1) comprises
    • a front wall (2),
    • an opening (3) that is arranged on the front wall (2) and enables the laundry to be placed in the drum,
    • a lid (4) closing the opening (3),
    • a hole (5) arranged on the front wall (2) around the opening (3),
    • a lock (7) that is mounted to the front wall (2), that has a body (6) remaining behind the hole (5) and that is fitted into the hole (5), and
    • a tenon (8) that is disposed on the lid (4) and enables the lid (4) to remain in the closed position by being placed into the lock (7) after passing through the hole (5) when the lid (4) is closed.
  • In the washer/dryer (1) of the present invention, the lock (7) comprises
    • at least two symmetrical flexible claws (9) that are disposed on the body (6), that bear against the edge of the hole (5) when the body (6) is seated into the hole (5) and that enable the body (6) to be mounted to the front wall (2) in a snap-fitting manner.
  • Thus, the lock (7) is enabled to be easily mounted to the front wall (2) without using an additional fixing element such as screw, etc.
  • The lock (7) is fixed onto the front wall (2) in a snap-fitting manner by means of the claws (9) that bear against the edge of the hole (5) while the user passes the body (6) through the hole (5) arranged on the front wall (2).
  • The user can easily remove the lock (7) from the hole (5) wherein it is fitted by stretching the claws (9).
  • The lock (7) comprises a housing (10) that enables the tenon (8) to be placed into the lock (7) by passing therethrough. Moreover, the lock (7) comprises a latch (12) that is pivotally connected to the body (6), that is disposed behind the housing (10), that is rotated by the tenon (8) by pushing while being placed into the lock (7), that enables the tenon (8) to be kept in the lock (7), and a spring (13) one end of which is mounted to the body (6) and the other end of which is mounted to the latch (12), that is compressed by the rotation of the latch (12) and that enables the latch (12) to resume its former position by transmitting the stored energy to the latch (12) when the latch (12) becomes free.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the claws (9) at least partially touch the front surface of the front wall (2) at the edge of the hole (5) when the lock (7) is mounted into the hole (5). Thus, the lock (7) is prevented from moving towards the rear side of to the front wall (2). While the tenon (8) is being placed into the lock (7), the lock (7) remains stationary on the front wall (2) whereon it is seated.
  • According to the invention, the lock (7) comprises a wall (11) that surrounds the housing (10). The claws (9) extend outwards from the body (6) so that a distance remains between the claws (9) and the wall (11). The said distance allows the claws (9) to be stretched towards the wall (11). The user detaches the claws (9) from the edge of the hole (5) by stretching them towards the wall (11) and thus can easily remove the lock (7) from the hole (5) wherein it is fitted.
  • According to the invention, the lock (7) comprises two claws (9) that extend in the same direction towards the hole (5) from the level of the opposite short edges of the rectangular housing (10) and that lock onto the edge of the hole (5) at two different points. Thus, the lock (7) is fitted into the hole (5) in a balanced manner by means of the two claws (9) that extend outwards from the body (6).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the claws (9) have an L-shaped end. Thus, the claws (9) are firmly seated onto the edge of the hole (5).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the two claws (9) situated on the lock (7) of the washer/dryer (1) are identical. Thus, ease of production is provided.
  • According to the present invention, the two claws (9) situated on the lock (7) of the washer/dryer (1) are symmetrical.
  • According to the invention, the lock (7) comprises an extension (14) that extends from the wall (11) of the housing (10) in the opposite direction with respect to the claws (9) and that is seated onto the edge of the hole (5) opposite to the edge whereon the claws (9) are seated.
  • By means of the present invention, the lock (7) is enabled to be easily mounted to and dismounted from the front wall (2).

Claims (4)

  1. A washer/dryer (1) comprising
    - a front wall (2),
    - an opening (3) that is arranged on the front wall (2) and enables the laundry to be placed in the drum,
    - a lid (4) closing the opening (3),
    - a hole (5) arranged on the front wall (2) around the opening (3),
    - a lock (7) that is mounted to the front wall (2), that has a body (6) remaining behind the hole (5) and that is fitted into the hole (5),
    - a tenon (8) that is disposed on the lid (4) and enables the lid (4) to remain in the closed position by being placed into the lock (7) after passing through the hole (5) when the lid (4) is closed,
    - a housing (10) arranged on the body (6) and through which the tenon (8) passes to be placed into the lock and
    - a wall (11) surrounding the housing (10),
    characterized in that said washer/dryer further comprises
    - at least two flexible claws (9) that are disposed on the body (6), that bear against the edge of the hole (5) when the body (6) is seated into the hole (5) and that enable the body (6) to be mounted to the front wall (2) in a snap-fitting manner, wherein
    - the claws (9) extend outwards from the body (6) so that a distance remains between the claws (9) and the wall (11), allowing the lock to be removed from the hole (5) wherein it is fitted by narrowing the distance between the housing and the claws wherein
    - said claws (9) are symmetrical and extend in the same direction towards the hole (5) from the level of the opposite short edges of the rectangular housing (10) and that lock onto the edge of the hole (5) at two different points and wherein
    - the lock (7) comprises an extension (14) that extends from the wall (11) of the housing (10) in the opposite direction with respect to the claws (9) and that is seated onto the edge of the hole (5) opposite to the edge whereon the claws (9) are seated.
  2. A washer/dryer (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the claws (9) that at least partially touch the front surface of the front wall (2) at the edge of the hole (5) when the lock (7) is mounted into the hole (5).
  3. A washer/dryer (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the claws (9) that have an L-shaped end.
  4. A washer/dryer (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by two identical claws (9) that are disposed on the lock (7).
