Claims (11)

  1. Knife comprising a knife body (1) provided with a longitudinal direction (A), enclosing a blade (2) secured to a blade holder (3), the blade and blade holder being able to move in the longitudinal direction between a position in which the blade is retracted inside the knife body and a position in which the blade is deployed, the knife comprising an actuating push-button (4) mobile with respect to the body of the knife in a direction (B) generally transverse to the knife body and a device for driving the blade holder by means of the push-button, characterized in that the driving device is a device involving pinions (5, 6, 7, 8, 9) for which the pinions are assembled between arms (17) of an element (16) that closes the rear of the body of the knife.
  2. Knife according to Claim 1, for which the driving device comprises means (5, 6; 8, 9) of multiplying the movement travel between the push-button and the blade holder.
  3. Knife according to Claim 1 or 2, comprising a cascade of pinions (5, 6, 7, 8, 9) which cascade is arranged in such a way as to transfer a force applied to the push-button on the rear of the body of the knife towards the front of the body of the knife.
  4. Knife according to Claim 1, 2 or 3, for which the actuating push-button comprises an input rack (10) oriented in the direction of operation of the push-button transversely to the longitudinal direction (A) of the body of the knife (1).
  5. Knife according to Claim 4, for which the input rack (10) meshes with a first pinion (5) of a first diameter (d1) and secured via its rotation axle (13) to a first transfer pinion (6) of a second diameter (d2) greater than the first diameter (d1).
  6. Knife according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, for which the blade holder (3) comprises an output rack (11) oriented in the longitudinal direction (A) of deployment of the blade, the output rack (11) meshing with a final pinion (9) of a final diameter (d4).
  7. Knife according to Claim 6, for which the final pinion (9) is secured, through its rotational axle (14), to a transfer receiving pinion (8) of diameter (d3) smaller than the final diameter.
  8. Knife according to Claims 5 and 7 for which the diameter (d3) of the transfer receiving pinion (8) and the diameter (d1) of the first pinion (5) are equal and/or the diameter (d2) of the first transfer pinion and the diameter (d4) of the final pinion are equal, the ratio of the second diameter (d2) to the first diameter (d1) being greater than 2.
  9. Knife according to Claim 4, for which the push-button (4) is a rotary push-button comprising a rotation axle (12) on the front side of deployment of the blade from the body of the knife (1), the rack (11) being arranged towards the rear of the body of the knife on an arc of a circle centred on the said rotation axle and oriented towards the axle.
  10. Knife according to Claim 6, for which the blade holder is guided longitudinally in the body of the knife, the output rack (11) running alongside an edge (31) of the said blade holder (3).
  11. Knife according to any one of the preceding claims, for which the blade holder is mounted on the closure element, a return spring being arranged between the blade holder and the said closure element.
