Claims (3)

  1. Input unit for a control element that can be operated by pressure and by rotation,
    having a cylindrical input element (1) which is pivoted on a support (2), whereby the support (2) is arranged in a swivellable fashion in respect of a housing constituent (3),
    characterised in that
    the input element (1) has a hollow cavity (14) in which a detent curve member (10) is located in a slideable manner,
    that one end face of the detent curve member (10) has a detent curve (4) which is pressed against a snap-in lug (5) on the carrier (2) by means of a spring (6) acting on the detent curve member (10) in the axial direction of the input element (1), and
    that the other end face of the detent curve member (10) has one or more moulded projections (7) which can be slid into a recess (8) in the housing constituent (3) by means of an axial displacement of the detent curve member (10) against the input element (1).
  2. Input unit according to Claim 1, characterised in that the height of the detent elements on the detent curve (4) is greater that the distance between the projections (7) and the recess (8) that exists when the input element (1) is not actuated.
  3. Input unit according to Claim 1, characterised in that the input unit is built into the steering wheel or the instrument panel of a motor vehicle.
