Für das Reigen und Waschen von hilfsbedürftigen Personen sind verschiedene Konstruktionen von Hilfsvorrichtungen vorgeschlagen worden.

Solche Faltwannen sind zwar sehr einfach im Aufbau aber schwierig zu handhaben. Es ist hier sehr einfach möglich, dass beim Reinigen auch das Bett nass wird.
In der deutschen Patentschrift DE 3434663 C2 wird eine Liege vorgeschlagen, die in eine Badewanne herabgelassen werden kann. Dazu sind an der Liege Gurtbänder vorgesehen, die mit Wickelmotoren das Herablassen und das wieder Heraufziehen der Liege bewirken. Diese Konstruktion ist aufwendig und die Wickelmotore können nur an besonders präparierten Badewannen angebracht werden.
In der deutschen Patentschrift DE 10 2006 012 371 B4 ist ein Badewanneneinsatz beschieben, bei dem die Wickelmotore mit an dem Einsatz befestigt sind und breite Bänder bewegen, auf denen die Person liegt und abgesenkt und angehoben wird.
