Definitions
- the present invention relates to a stackable container device.
- the invention relates to a stackable container device comprising a plate having a horizontal bottom, two longitudinal walls and two full transverse walls, the container device further comprising two transverse sidewalks which are oriented horizontally on the inside of the plate by determining, with a top horizontal slice of the walls of the plate at its corners at the connection of the longitudinal and transverse walls, a stacking support.
- reference numeral 10 denotes a container device according to the invention, comprising a cardboard tray 12 and two reinforcing devices 13.
- the tray and reinforcing devices are indicated as being made of cardboard, but they may be in any semi-rigid material having equivalent properties of strength and bendability.
- the container device 10 is substantially rectangle-based rectangular base having its plate 12 which has a rectangular horizontal bottom 12D whose length determines the direction qualified longitudinal in the present description and the width corresponds to the qualified management of transverse in the present description.
- the height of the tray is for example about one third of the width of the tray.
- the container device thus serves as a reference to define the longitudinal direction is the transverse direction.
- Such a tray 12 has the usual dimensions to typically contain fruits or vegetables.
- a tray may contain melons.
- melons For the transport of melons, when container devices are stacked, their vertical compressive strength must be important because melons are relatively dense and heavy products. Indeed, trays thus stacked for example on a pallet must withstand, especially for those below the stack, a very large mass given the mass of trays filled and arranged to the top of the stack.
- Each container device 10 has its plate 12 which has two longitudinal walls 12L and two transverse walls 12T which are solid. These transverse walls 12T are substantially rectangular and are solid by being connected vertically to the longitudinal walls 12L and horizontally to the bottom wall 12D.
- the plate 12 is in cardboard with parallel grooves which are arranged longitudinally. In the transverse walls 12T, the grooves are aligned vertically for good resistance to the vertical compression of the transverse walls.
- the reinforcing devices 13 also consist of parallel corrugated cardboards which are arranged parallel to the splines of the plate.
- the two transverse walls 12T of the plate are each provided with at least one upper pin 16 stacking wedge projecting from the upper edge horizontal transverse walls.
- the dimensions of the studs 16 are standardized, as are the locations of these studs.
- the plate 12 comprises a notch 18 arranged at the connection of the bottom 12D of the plate and each transverse wall 12T for receiving a pin 16 corresponding stacking stall when trays are stacked.
- the plate 12 has its longitudinal walls 12L which determine a vertical recess 12V over part of the length and over part of the height of the plate, centered in the middle of the length of this longitudinal wall.
- Each vertical recess 12V is open flared at the top of the tray, above a central zone of the bottom of the longitudinal wall.
- Such a recess 12V is of conventional type and does not deserve to be detailed.
- the longitudinal walls 12L are equipped at the top of their 12V erasure of an upper flap 12R which also does not deserve to be described in more detail.
- the plate 12 is derived from an initially planar blank such as figure 2 represents him.
- Each longitudinal wall 12L has an outer lateral wall 22 which is along the entire length of the plate and over the entire height of the plate except at the central portion of the top of the outer lateral wall which determines the vertical recess.
- each longitudinal wall 12L has two inner panels 24 which are initially attached to each lateral end of each transverse wall 12T. The connection of each inner panel 24 with its transverse walls 12T is done by folding along a vertical fold line 26.
- the figure 2 shows very well each fold line 26 on the initial plate determining the cardboard side used as a base for the construction of the plate.
- Each inner panel 24 is on a part of the length of the longitudinal wall 12L corresponding and over the entire height of the longitudinal wall at these end zones which are longitudinally on each side of the central zone at the bottom of the longitudinal wall.
- an upper edge 28 is horizontal being determined by the upper faces of the tray walls at its corners at the connection of the longitudinal and transverse walls. These corners have the vertical fold lines 26.
- Each upper edge 28 defines a stacking support at the top of the end regions of the longitudinal walls 12L and at the top of the transverse walls 12T at the center of which the tenons 28 provide an interruption of this upper edge .
- the container device further comprises two transverse sidewalks 30 which are oriented substantially horizontally by determining, with the upper horizontal edge 28 of the walls of the plate at its corners at the connection of the longitudinal and transverse walls, a stacking support.
- the transverse sidewalks 30 are adjacent to the upper ends of the transverse walls 12T, these upper faces constituting portions of the upper edge 28 of the plate.
- the transverse sidewalks 30 are oriented on the inside of the tray from said upper faces.
- the transverse sidewalks 30 may be slightly inclined a few degrees downwardly and inwardly of the tray.
- the plate 12 is shaped from the blank by folding the outer lateral walls 22 along a horizontal folding axis so as to bring each external lateral wall 22 perpendicular to the bottom 12D of the plate.
- Each inner panel 24 is folded perpendicularly to its transverse wall 12T, by folding along the corresponding fold line 26.
- each transverse wall 12T equipped with its interior panels 24 folded at right angles is folded along a horizontal folding axis so as to bring each transverse wall 12T perpendicularly to the bottom 12D of the tray while the inner panels 24 are slid parallel to the side walls 22, along the inner faces of these walls.
- the inner panels 24 are bonded to the corresponding end regions of the outer side walls 22. Such bonding is conventional.
- the shaping process of the tray 12 can be performed using a conventional shaping machine.
- each of the reinforcing devices 13 is provided on the one hand with a panel 30 extending at right angles to the corresponding transverse wall 12T constituting the sidewalk.
- two folded panels connecting the sidewalk 30 within the container device stabilizing the sidewalk horizontally at the level of the upper horizontal edge 28.
- These folded sides include an intermediate section 37 extending under the sidewalk and a bracket 39 extending vertically from the intermediate pan being stable relative to the corresponding transverse wall.
- the two reinforcing devices 13 are cardboard pieces that are reported in the tray.
- Each reinforcing device 13 intended to be attached to the plate 12 has on the one hand a main part 33 and, on the other hand, connected at the top of the main part, the sidewalk 30 which is constituted by a folded bent at right angles to to the main pan.
- Each reinforcement device 13 includes a notch 35 arranged for receiving, when the container devices 10 are stacked, the corresponding stacking pin 16 which belongs to the device adjacent container 10 below the reinforcing device 13 considered. This tenon 16 cooperating by engagement in the notch 35 and in the corresponding notch 18 of the plate allows the wedging of the stacked containers.
- Each reinforcing device 13 has its attachment members which, in addition to attachment to the main panel 33, allow the attachment of the sidewalk within the container device by securing the sidewalk horizontally.
- the attachment members are used to block the curb sections 30 in a horizontal position relative to the rest of the container device, to prevent the collapse of sidewalks when these devices are stacked.
- each reinforcing device 13 reported includes, in its connecting members, the two folded panels of attachment of the sidewalk.
- the intermediate section 37 is intended to extend under the sidewalk 30 and, on the other hand, the attachment section 39 is intended to extend downwards from the intermediate section 37 while being attached to the inner face of the main panel 33.
- the intermediate panel 37 extends inclined under the sidewalk 30 being oriented, from a free end of the sidewalk side inside of the plate, on the one hand towards the corresponding main panel 33 and on the other hand towards the bottom 12D of the plate.
- the reinforcing devices 13 are positioned in approach for their assembly to the plate 12.
- the reinforcing devices 13 are presented vertically, above and substantially in the planes parallel to the transverse walls 12T.
- the reinforcing devices 13 are then ready to be lowered vertically in the direction of the bottom wall 12D of the plate.
- each reinforcing device 13 is attached to the plate 12 while having its main part 33 which extends with respect to the whole of the corresponding transverse wall 12T of the plate, from the bottom 12D of the plate and up to the upper slice 28 of the plateau.
- the insertion movements are relatively simple and allow mechanization via a machine which can then be of robust design as not very complex in its architecture and economical manufacturing.
- the top of the reinforcing devices is transformed.
- the reinforcing devices are folded conformation towards the interior of the tray.
- the figure 5 shows the beginning of the folding allowing the conformation of sidewalks 30.
- This folding is done according to pivoting transverse axes and horizontal.
- the sidewalk 30 is pivoted relative to the upper end of the main panel 33, to come to a horizontal orientation.
- the intermediate pan 37 is rotated relative to the free end of the curb 30, opposite the main panel, to be inclined oriented under the sidewalk.
- the attachment panel 39 is pivoted relative to the free end of the intermediate panel 37, opposite the sidewalk 30, to be oriented vertically under said sidewalk being directed downwards and positioned against the main panel 33 with gluing.
- the assembly of the plate 12 and reinforcement devices 13 is finalized.
- the sidewalk 30 is bent at right angles while being horizontal and directed towards the inside of the plate.
- the sidewalk 30 is cantilevered away from the bottom 12D, flush with the horizontal at the top edge 28 corresponding corners of the plate.
- the intermediate section 37 extends below the sidewalk 30 and the attachment section 39 extends downwardly from the intermediate section 37 and is attached to the inner face of the main section.
- the intermediate section 37 is inclined under the sidewalk being oriented, from a free end of the sidewalk side inside the plate, on the one hand to the corresponding main pan and on the other hand to the bottom of the tray. It thus serves as a strut so that the sidewalk is stiffened over its entire length and keeps its horizontal orientation.
- the attachment panel 39 stabilizes the assembly in position. To save material, the attachment panel is of reduced height as shown in the figures, the bonding for good assembly strength even if the bottom of the attachment panel 39 does not press the bottom of the tray.
- the main sections 33 provide an improvement in the vertical compressive strength of the container device, by doubling the transverse walls of the tray.
- the dimensional dispersions of the plate as the reinforcing device are easy to manage to have a stackable container device that is strong and easy to assemble.
- the geometry of the reinforcing device promotes the absence of material loss because the falls are minimized.
- the geometry of the reinforcing device incorporating a sidewalk allows the sidewalk to take up little space inside the tray. Indeed this sidewalk is solid without being too bulky and without being complex to maintain solidly in the plateau.
- each reported reinforcing device 13 may have a thickness different from the thickness of the plate 12 receiving it.
- a container device having good characteristics of resistance to vertical compression it is possible to use a base plate having a cardboard for example relatively thin and simple grooves and to choose to use a device of reported reinforcement 13 which is thicker and for example provided with double flutes.
- the reinforcing devices 13 do not interfere with the proper use of the pins 16 of stacking stall.
- the container device may be shaped using firstly a standard shaping machine for the tray and secondly a specific shaping machine for the added reinforcement device. A same machine can be added for fit the attached reinforcement and assemble it in the tray.
- the reported reinforcement device may have its sidewalk which is shaped prior to assembly to the plate.
- the added reinforcement device can be assembled to the corresponding transverse wall of the tray before the tray is shaped, this conformation of the tray being performed when the reinforcing devices are already added to the blank to be conformed.
- the assembly of the reinforcing devices in the tray can be made quite flexible, knowing that the tray can be standard type.
- the main panel of each reinforcing device can be lowered substantially vertically, more or less parallel to the corresponding transverse wall of the plate and, when the bottom of the main panel is approaching the bottom or the key, the device reinforcement can be plated laterally against the transverse wall with gluing.
- the mechanization of the assembly can be modular, for example by retaining an existing tray forming machine for a standard tray. This mechanization can be difficult because of simple assembly movements of the reinforcing device in the tray.
- each added reinforcing device 13 comprises, in addition to the configuration described above, two lateral tongues 43 which are connected vertically to the free lateral ends of the main panel 33.
- Each tongue 43 is against an inner face of the longitudinal walls of the plate.
- a vertical bend 46 is present at the intersection of the main panel 33 and each lateral tab.
- the two lateral tabs 43 extend vertically from the bottom 12D of the plateau 12 and up to the upper edge 28 of the plateau.
- the reinforcing devices 13 are positioned in approach for their assembly to the plate 12, after folding of the lateral tabs 43 perpendicularly to their adjacent main panel.
- the reinforcing devices 13 are presented vertically, above and substantially in the planes parallel to the transverse walls 12T having the tabs 43 on the inside of the plate.
- the reinforcing devices 13 are then ready to be lowered vertically towards the bottom wall 12D of the plate, the lateral tabs 43 then sliding against the inner faces of the inner panels 24 belonging to the longitudinal walls 12L of the plate.
- the reinforcing devices 13 are positioned to be inserted into the plate 12. They are lowered substantially parallel to the corresponding transverse wall 12T and then, when the bottom of the main sections is close to the 12D bottom, the reinforcing devices are close together with horizontal translation combined where appropriate with a pivoting about a horizontal axis for bonding to the inner face of their transverse wall.
- each reinforcing device 13 is attached to the plate 12 having its main part 33 which extends with respect to the whole of the corresponding transverse wall 12T of the plate.
- the figure 9 corresponds to the figure 4 and shows said reinforcements 13 at the beginning of the assembly to the plate.
- the insertion movements are still relatively simple.
- the side tabs 43 triple the thickness of the end zones at the corners of the container device.
- the lateral tabs 43 may be glued to the longitudinal walls. If the gluing of the tongues is prior to the insertion of the reinforcing device 13 in the plate 12, the descent of said reinforcement is performed with the tabs 43 tightened towards their main panel. If the gluing of the tongues is subsequent to the insertion of the reinforcing device 13 in the plate 12, during the gluing, the tongues 43 are tightened towards their main part by pivoting in the plate following the fold 46. The gluing of the tongues 43 is performed before folding sidewalks 30 to their horizontal working position.
- the reinforcing devices 13 have their top which is folded in conformation towards the inside of the plate.
- the figure 10 corresponds to the figure 5 and shows the beginning of the folding allowing the conformation of the sidewalks 30.
- the folding is done according to the same pivoting transverse and horizontal axes as those described previously.
- the sidewalk 30 is rotated to come to a horizontal orientation.
- the intermediate section 37 is pivoted relative to the free end of the curb 30, to end up being inclined under the pavement, passing between the lateral tabs 43.
- the attachment panel 39 is pivoted relative to the free end intermediate panel 37, passing between the lateral tabs 43 to end up being oriented vertically under said sidewalk being directed downwards and positioned against the main panel 33 with gluing.
- the assembly of the plate 12 and reinforcement devices 13 is finalized.
- the sidewalk 30 is bent at right angles while being horizontal and directed towards the inside of the plate.
- the sidewalk portion 30 is cantilevered away from the bottom 12D, flush horizontal with firstly the upper face of the lateral tabs 43 and secondly the upper edge 28 corresponding corners of the plate.
- a second embodiment of the container device 10 is represented by the figure 12 to the figure 15 , this container device being different from the first embodiment on some characteristics.
- the reinforcing devices 13 are different having sidewalk integrated with the rest of the tray, without being reported.

Referring to the figures,
In the embodiment represented as an example in the figures, the
Such a
The
The two
The
At each end of the plate, an
The container device further comprises two
The
In general, corresponding to each full
Each
Each reinforcing
These additional attachment members are on the same general principle for the different embodiments.
The operation of the

The reinforcing devices are folded conformation towards the interior of the tray.

Continuing to summarize, the
Various advantages may emerge from the deck reinforcement solution using the reinforcing
In addition, with the reinforcing
Advantageously, the dimensional dispersions of the plate as the reinforcing device are easy to manage to have a stackable container device that is strong and easy to assemble. In addition, the geometry of the reinforcing device promotes the absence of material loss because the falls are minimized.
Advantageously, the geometry of the reinforcing device incorporating a sidewalk allows the sidewalk to take up little space inside the tray. Indeed this sidewalk is solid without being too bulky and without being complex to maintain solidly in the plateau.
Advantageously, each reported reinforcing
Advantageously, the reinforcing
The container device may be shaped using firstly a standard shaping machine for the tray and secondly a specific shaping machine for the added reinforcement device. A same machine can be added for fit the attached reinforcement and assemble it in the tray.
As an alternative assembly, the reported reinforcement device may have its sidewalk which is shaped prior to assembly to the plate. The added reinforcement device can be assembled to the corresponding transverse wall of the tray before the tray is shaped, this conformation of the tray being performed when the reinforcing devices are already added to the blank to be conformed.
The assembly of the reinforcing devices in the tray can be made quite flexible, knowing that the tray can be standard type. For example, the main panel of each reinforcing device can be lowered substantially vertically, more or less parallel to the corresponding transverse wall of the plate and, when the bottom of the main panel is approaching the bottom or the key, the device reinforcement can be plated laterally against the transverse wall with gluing.
The mechanization of the assembly can be modular, for example by retaining an existing tray forming machine for a standard tray. This mechanization can be difficult because of simple assembly movements of the reinforcing device in the tray.
The rest of the assembly operations are carried out on the same principle as previously described.
In the second phase of assembly, at the beginning of their assembly to the plate, the reinforcing

The
Thus, according to this second embodiment, the
For the second embodiment of the container device, the mounting operations for assembling the reinforcing

In this variant, the
In a variant not shown on the basis of the second embodiment, the
More generally, the outer side walls may have a horizontal vertex, located below the level of the top of the interior panels involved in determining the upper edge of the tray.
The advantages of strength and ease of implementation of the container device are substantially the same for the various embodiments.
In a variant that is not shown, the upper stacking wedge lugs are arranged differently, for example by being two in number at the top of the transverse walls. The arrangements on the notches and notches are in agreement.
