Definitions
- the invention relates to a visor for a protective helmet, with two retaining arms and two attachable to a helmet shell of a helmet bearing devices for the support arms for pivoting the visor between two end positions corresponding to an operating position in which the visor folded down and rests on a front edge of the helmet shell, and a parking position in which the visor is folded up and disposed on the outer surface of the helmet shell, wherein the visor with a soft lip, at least in a region in which it is in close proximity or in contact with a helmet shell in at least one of the end positions is provided, which is formed on the visor and arranged so that it can be placed in the operating position of the visor on a protruding front edge of the helmet shell, and wherein at least one of its bearing devices is associated with a spring-biased Endlagensperre which locks the arm in each end position frictionally and at ma at least from the parking position, the visor accelerates toward the operating position until the lip is in contact with the helmet shell.
- a helmet of the aforementioned type is from the document US 4,766,609 known.
- at least one of the bearing devices of the visor is associated with a spring-biased Endlageensperre which locks the holding arm frictionally in each end position and accelerates the visor towards the operating position with manual abutment of the pivoting movement of the visor from the parking position until the lip with the Helmet shell is in contact.
- a similar helmet from the document EP 1 841 338 B1 is known, is preferably used as a police helmet.
- the visor of this helmet is folded up to the parking position, there is a considerable distance between the visor and the helmet outside.
- such a helmet would have the disadvantage that branches could catch between the visor and the helmet, causing the user to tear off the helmet.
- the visor occupies a parking position in which it has a particularly large distance from a shield-like front edge of the helmet and from the outside of the helmet at a location of the same with respect to the edge of the same, so that branches not only between visor and the outside of the helmet shell can catch, but also on the visor itself.
- a visor which is similar to the visor of the type mentioned, from the document DE 10 2010 027 015 A1 known to form each mounting device for mounting inside of the helmet shell, each support arm extending from the visor to its connected to the bearing device free end substantially parallel to and at such a distance from the visor, so that between the arm and visor a slot is formed, through which extends in the park position, the helmet shell.
- the visor is arranged in the park position close fitting on the outer surface of the helmet shell. The visor is guided by the support arms so that it has in the operating position with its upper edge barely spaced from the outside of the helmet.
The object of the invention is to provide a visor of the type mentioned in such a way that it can assume its two end positions safely and essentially noiselessly.
This object is inventively achieved in that the lip is further formed on the visor and arranged so that it can be brought into the parking position on the outer surface of the helmet shell into contact, and that the visor with manual abutment of the pivoting movement of the visor from the operating position accelerated toward the parking position until the lip is in abutment with the outer surface of the helmet shell substantially without rebound.
When in the visor according to the invention whose soft, elastic lip in the parking position corresponding end position impinges on the outside of the helmet shell, dampens the lip of the visor, the movement impulse, so that a rebound substantially prevented and the sound resulting from hitting the helmet shell is significantly attenuated , The same effect unfolds the lip of the visor according to the invention, when this hits in the operating position corresponding end position from above on the protruding front edge of the helmet shell, the sealing lip in this position still additionally causes a seal between visor and helmet shell, so that raindrops, which run down the outside of the helmet shell, over the visor run out to the side, so do not fall into the visual field of the person wearing the helmet. The same sealing effect unfolds the lip of the visor in the parking position corresponding end position. Incidentally, in the parking position, a viewing window or a grid in the frame of the visor forms a rain cover that does not allow raindrops to penetrate directly into the visual field.
The lip of the visor according to the invention is a soft component, in contrast to the hard component formed by the visor or the frame of the visor. The soft component is elastic and prevents rebounding of the hard component from the desired end position. In a protective helmet in which the visor freely oscillates from one to the other end position due to a spring preload generated in the bearing device, as soon as this movement has been initiated by hand, the soft lip absorbs the closing pulse. This is particularly important for a visor in a protective helmet, where the visor always has a minimum distance from the outside of the helmet shell in both end positions and in the area between the two end positions.
The lip is formed on the visor and arranged so that it can be placed in the operating position of the visor on a protruding front edge of the helmet shell. This not only ensures good damping during the adoption of the operating position corresponding end position, but also a particularly good seal between the visor and the helmet shell in this end position. Because according to the invention the lip is further formed and arranged on the visor so that it can be brought into abutment in the parking position on the outer surface of the helmet shell, this close system supports both the damping and the sealing function of the lip and ensures that Visor not only occupies each of the two desired end positions, but then also retains.
Further, in the visor according to the invention, at least one of its bearing devices associated with a spring-biased Endlagensperre, which locks the arm in each end position positively and accelerated at manual abutment of the pivoting movement of the visor from one end position out the visor toward the other end position until the lip is in contact with the helmet shell substantially without rebound. This per se known Endlagensperre and the known per se acceleration by the Endlagensperre in the pivotal movement between the two end positions are according to the invention complemented by the lip's cushioning and sealing function, which makes it easier to take and maintain each end position.
Advantageous embodiments of the visor according to the invention form the subject of the dependent claims.
In one embodiment of the visor according to the invention, the lip is made of a soft, elastic material which is both shock-absorbing and sealing, in another embodiment, the material of the lip advantageously under rubber, TPE, TPU, silicone rubber, PVC or the like can be selected , The choice of a suitable material for the lip thus allows to influence their damping and sealing function.
In a further embodiment of the visor according to the invention, the lip is frictionally attached to the visor or to a frame of the visor. For this purpose, the lip may have a suitable profile, for example essentially a U-profile, with which it can be simply plugged onto a corresponding web of the visor or a frame of the visor.
In a further embodiment of the visor according to the invention, the lip on the visor or on a frame of the visor is positively and / or cohesively attached. The interlocking connection can for example be realized by the sealing lip is provided at its free longitudinal edges with beads which border in a corresponding groove on the visor or on the visor frame like a bead in a bead rim. Alternatively or additionally, a cohesive connection can be achieved in that the lip is welded or fused to the material of the visor or the visor frame when it is being connected to the visor or a sighting frame, which usually takes place during an injection process.
In a further embodiment of the visor according to the invention, this is combined with a protective helmet. Although it may be a protective helmet, in which the visor is moved by hand in one or the other end position, but particularly advantageous effect in the inventive combination of the visor of the invention, when it is moved under spring tension between its end positions, because it is able to prevent when reaching the end of the pivoting movement a rebound by damping the motion pulse, at the same time to dampen noise and additionally to fulfill a sealing function.
