Description

The invention relates to a gusseted bag made of a plastic fabric composite, according to the preamble of claim 1.

The gusseted bag comprises a front panel, a rear panel and gussets disposed between the front panel and the rear panel connected by fold edges to the front panel and back panel. The gusseted bag is made of a plastic fabric composite, which has a polymer film on the outside of the bag and a polymer tape connected to the polymer film on the inside of the bag. The fabric and the polymer film on the outside of the bag are connected to one another in a flat manner and form a strong plastic fabric composite. The flat side gusset bag is closed at one end by a portion of the front panel and gusset portions disposed between the portion of the front panel and the back panel folded over and joined to the back panel to form a bottom gusset. The front and rear walls form equivalent bag surfaces. The designation of these bag surfaces as a "front wall" and "back wall" is intended to facilitate the understanding of the teaching of the invention and should not represent a material limitation. To facilitate understanding of the claimed technical teaching is in the context of the disclosure of the invention, that bag surface on which are folded and fixed in the formation of the bottom surface film sections, referred to as a "back wall".

The flat gusseted bag can be filled at the open end and closed after filling. The filled gusseted bag is intended as a packaging bag, in particular for pourable products such as pelleted pet food, litter for animals or similar materials. Of the Side gusset bag is suitable by the use of a plastic fabric composite, especially for large containers, which have a considerable filling volume and a considerable filling weight. Corresponding gusseted bags are referred to in practice as gusseted bags, these terms are not distinguished in the context of the present invention.

Gusseted bags of single or multi-ply foils that are not reinforced by a fabric often have a bottom surface formed by seal seams. The sealing seams extend from a folded edge on longitudinal sides of the front or rear wall at an oblique angle in the direction of the bottom fold. The seal seams, also referred to as corner seals, cause the bottom of the gusseted bag to better form a flat bottom surface when the gusseted bag is filled with a product.

Side gusset bags, which are made of a plastic fabric composite, have in practice no sealing seams for forming the bottom, since the bag inside fabric surface can not or only badly seal. To produce a sealed seam, high sealing temperatures are necessary, with the risk that the polymer structure and orientation of the polymer ribbon of the fabric is destroyed by the introduction of excessive heat energy. Another problem for the application of sealing seams between the edges of the gussets and the adjacent front wall or back wall is the poor contact of the surfaces to be joined due to their fabric structure. Side gusset bags made of plastic fabric composite materials, which are formed without corner seals on the bottom surface, have after filling a visually poor Bodenausformung. The poor soil formation also has a negative effect on the container volume, since the level increases when the soil is not properly positioned and this by a higher bag height must be considered. The problem occurs especially in flat side gusseted bags with deep gussets, which form after filling cuboidal packaging.

In order to be able to attach sealing seams for shaping the bottom surface on side-folding bags which are made of a plastic fabric composite, the fabric must be provided over its entire surface or at least in sections with a sealable coating which is produced, for example, by an extrusion coating or by applying a hot-melt adhesive. The use of coated webs of monoaxially drawn polymer ribbons and a sealable polymer coating for making sacks is lacking EP 2 188 438 B1 known. The coating of the fabric surface of a plastic fabric composite material to improve the sealing properties is technically complex and requires an additional and associated with correspondingly higher cost of material.

Out US 4,373,979 It is known to bond a fabric of polymer tape by ultrasonic welding with a polymer surface. The example of a gusseted bag describes that the ultrasonic welding method can be used to close the end of a film tube. The welding spots produced by ultrasonic welding are arranged in several rows, which extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the film tube. The distance between the welds is chosen so that each polymer ribbon of the fabric is detected by a welding point.

The GB 1 162 013 A shows a stand-up pouch with a gusset, arranged therein, formed from a plurality of welds at an oblique angle Eckschweißnaht.

Against this background, the object of the invention is to design a gusset bag made of a plastic fabric composite in such a way that it has a flat and stable bottom surface after filling.

The object of the invention and solution of this problem is a gusseted bag according to claim 1.

The invention requires a gusseted bag made of a plastic fabric composite with a front wall, a rear wall and disposed between the front wall and the rear wall gussets, which are connected by folding edges with the front wall and the rear wall. A portion of the front wall, as well as gusset portions disposed between the portion of the front wall and the rear wall, are folded over and connected to the back wall to form a bottom fold. The gusseted bag which can be produced by folding a flat material web consists of a plastic fabric composite which has a polymer film on the outside of the bag and a fabric made of polymer tapes connected to the polymer film on the inside of the bag. The polymer film and the fabric are firmly bonded together forming a strong bond. The fabric is untreated and has no sealable coating on the inside of the bag. According to the bag inner side fabric surface of the gussets are connected to the adjacent fabric surface of the front wall or rear wall by Eckschweißnähte extending from a folded edge on the longitudinal sides of the front or rear wall at an oblique angle in the direction of the bottom fold. For the invention is essential that the corner welds a have produced by ultrasonic welding structure with a screening of a plurality of punctiform or linear welds. According to a screening of a plurality of successively and juxtaposed welding points is provided. By a local connection at a plurality of welds or lines, for example, are aligned in parallel or intersect, the seam strength of the corner welds in the longitudinal and transverse direction of the corner welds is uniform. In particular, no significant embrittlement occurs at the seam edges of the corner welds, as can often be observed in heat sealing of polymeric films using heat seal jaws.

The Eckschweißnähte extend appropriately to the bottom fold. The corner welds are aligned so that they enclose an angle between 30 ° and 60 ° with the bottom fold. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the corner weld seams with the bottom fold and one edge-side fold edge each delimit an isosceles triangular surface.

The fabric of the plastic fabric composite may in particular consist of a braid of ribbon-shaped polymer strips. The polymer strips of the braid preferably have a width of between 2 mm and 5 mm in the longitudinal direction of the bag and in the transverse direction of the bag, and the polymer strips of the braid extending in the longitudinal direction of the bag and in the transverse direction of the bag may in particular also have substantially the same width.

The corner welds are expediently 2 mm to 10 mm wide, wherein the grid can include 10 to 500 weld points based on an area of 100 mm 2 . The welds of the corner welds are preferably arranged on parallel lines, which are aligned at an angle of 45 ° to the longitudinal extent of the Eckschweißnähte. On each line at least three welds are arranged at equidistant intervals next to each other.

The plastic fabric composite is usually made of polyolefinic components, wherein the polymer film on the outside of the bag is preferably a polypropylene film and in particular consists of a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP). Alternatively, the polymer film on the outside of the bag can also consist of a polyester or polyamide (OPET, OPA). The fabric on the inside of the bag has monoaxially drawn polymer ribbons which are woven together and can be welded on the surface. The fabric then has orientations in the longitudinal and transverse directions.

The lower edge of the front wall, the lower edge of the edge of the side folds adjacent to the front wall, the lower edge of the edge of the side folds adjacent to the rear wall and the lower edge of the rear wall are expediently offset in a fan-shaped manner, so that the layers of the plastic fabric composite folded over along the bottom fold respectively have a portion which rests directly on the rear wall and is preferably glued to the rear wall. In this way, the gusseted bag receives a stable bottom surface, which forms a substantially flat and stable bottom surface after filling the gusseted bag. By using a plastic fabric composite material, the gusseted bag according to the invention is suitable for large containers and for packaging bulk material with a high bulk density.

The Fig. 1 and 2 show a flattened gusseted bag with a front wall 1, a rear wall 2 and arranged between the front wall and the rear wall gussets 3, by folding edges 4 with the front wall 1 and the rear wall 2 are connected. The gusseted bag is formed from a flat sheet of material by folding. An overlap region 5, which is arranged in the exemplary embodiment on the rear wall 2, is closed by a bond. At its upper end, the gusseted bag is open and can be filled in bottling plants with a pourable filling material. At its lower end, the gusseted bag is closed, wherein the closed end forms a flat bottom surface when filling the gusseted bag. The bottom surface is formed by a portion 6 of the front wall and gusset portions 7, which are arranged between the portion 6 of the front wall 1 and the rear wall 2, folded over to form a bottom fold 8 on the rear wall 2 and connected to the rear wall 2.

Thus, the bottom surface forms better when the side gusseted bag is filled, Eckschweißnähte 9 are provided extending from an outer folding edge 4 on the longitudinal sides of the front or rear wall 1, 2 at an oblique angle in the direction of the bottom fold 8. The Eckschweißnähte 9 may include with the bottom fold 8 an angle α between 30 ° and 60 °. In the exemplary embodiment and according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the corner weld seams 9 bound with the bottom fold 8 and a marginal folding edge 4 each have an isosceles triangular surface.

The gusseted bag shown in the figures is made of a plastic fabric composite. The plastic fabric composite is formed at least two layers and has a polymer film 10 on the outside of the bag and a bonded to the polymer film 10 fabric 11 of polymer tapes 12, 13 on the inside of the bag. The polymer film 10 is firmly bonded to the fabric 11. The plastic fabric composite is made for example of polyolefinic components.

Out Fig. 3 It can be seen that the fabric 11 consists of a network of ribbon-shaped polymer strips 12, 13, wherein the polymer strips 12 in the bag longitudinal direction and the polymer strips 13 in the bag transverse direction, for example, a width between 2 mm and 5 mm. In the exemplary embodiment, the polymer strips 12, 13 of the braid extending in the longitudinal direction of the bag and in the transverse direction of the bag have substantially the same width.

The bag-inside tissue surface does not seal well. High sealing temperatures would be necessary, with the risk that orientations in polymer ribbons 12, 13 would be destroyed. The corner welds 9 are produced according to the invention by ultrasonic welding and have a structure produced by ultrasonic welding with a grid of a plurality of successively arranged and juxtaposed welds 14. The welding points 14 connect the bag inner side fabric surface of the gussets 3 with the adjacent fabric surface of the front wall 1 or rear wall 2. Within the scope of the invention is also that the generated by ultrasonic welding structure of the corner welds as an array of linear welds, the weld lines, for example, parallel are aligned or intersect.

The process principle for producing the corner welds 9 by ultrasonic welding is in Fig. 5 shown. With the help of a generator high-frequency alternating current is generated and transmitted to an ultrasonic transducer, which generates a mechanical ultrasonic frequency. The high-frequency mechanical vibrations of a sonotrode 15 are transferred under pressure to the polymer surfaces to be joined. The vibrations cause ultrasonic and interfacial friction in the joining zone during ultrasonic welding. This creates the heat necessary for welding, with the polymer material is plasticized at the weld points 14. As shown in Fig. 5 engages an abutment 16 for the sonotrode 15 at the edge in the spread gussets 3 a. The ultrasonic sealing has the advantage that the welding times are short and the thermal energy largely arises in the contact areas, whereby other laminate areas and in particular the oriented polymer tapes 12, 13 of the fabric 11 are loaded with less heat.

The corner welds 9, as shown in FIG Fig. 4 each have a width between 2 mm and 10 mm, wherein the screening suitably 10 to 500 weld points 14 based on an area of 100 mm 2 includes. In the exemplary embodiment, the Eckschweißnaht 9 is about 4 mm wide and is composed of about 100 welds based on an area of 100 mm 2 together. The representation in Fig. 4 It can also be seen that the welding points 14 of the corner welds 9 are arranged on parallel lines 17, which are aligned at an angle β of 45 ° to the longitudinal extent of the corner welds 9. On each line 17 at least three welds 14 are arranged at equidistant intervals next to each other.

In the embodiment of Fig. 8 is in at least one limited by a corner weld 9 triangular bag section 7 'a vent opening 24 is arranged. Between the provided with the vent opening 24 bag portion 7 'and the filling space of the gusseted bag an air exchange is ensured. The air exchange is indicated by arrows. In the exemplary embodiment, the air exchange is possible because the corner weld seam 9 maintains a distance from the bottom fold 8 and the folding edge 4 at the longitudinal side of the bag. Alternatively or additionally, the corner weld may be interrupted, for example, to prevent the air exchange between the To ensure or promote triangular bag portion 7 'and the filling space of the gusseted bag.

The Eckschweißnähte 9 cause when filling the gusseted bag a good Bodenausformung. After filling and closure of its upper end, the gusseted bag forms a substantially parallelepipedic package with a flat, stable bottom surface, as shown in FIG Fig. 6 is shown.

The gusseted bag made of a plastic fabric composite can be used for packaging bulk goods such as pelleted pet food, litter for animals or similar materials and is suitable as a bag especially for large containers, which have a considerable filling volume and a considerable filling weight. Apart from the fact that the packaging has a well-formed by the Eckschweißnähte 9 flat bottom surface, the bottom surface must withstand during loading and handling of the bag a large load. Since the tissue surfaces on the inside of the bag are not sealable, the material layers are preferably glued together. With regard to a fixed adhesive connection, it is expedient if the film layers to be bonded together to form a bottom surface have an edge profile with the in Fig. 7 have shown contour. The representation in Fig. 7 , which shows a view of the rear wall 2, it can be seen that the lower edge 18 of the front wall 1, the lower edge 19 of the front wall 1 adjacent flank 20 of the gussets 3, the lower edge 21 of the back wall 2 adjacent flank 22 of Gussets 3 and the lower edge 23 of the rear wall 2 are fan-shaped offset from one another. It is thereby achieved that the folded along the bottom fold 8 layers of plastic fabric composite each having a portion which rests directly on the rear wall 2 and is glued or welded to the rear wall 2.
