Definitions

  • the invention relates to a particularly rational to produce applicator with a handle, a stem and a bristle trim, and a method for producing such an applicator.
  • Such a cosmetic applicator which is designed in particular as a mascara applicator, is provided with a cap configured on its outside as a gripping surface.
  • the Cap is used for sealing a cosmetic reservoir.
  • the cap merges integrally into a protruding shaft.
  • the shaft forms a stem portion and integrally therewith a bristle-carrying portion, that is, the stem portion and the bristle-carrying portion seamlessly merge into each other and are designed as a one-piece component.
  • the bristle-carrying portion is hollow inside and the cavity of the bristle-carrying portion is open to the outside on the end face of the bristle-supporting portion 6 facing away from the cap.
  • the handle portion is at least partially also hollow and it has a separating portion which separates its cavity tightly from the cavity of the bristle-carrying portion 6.
  • the bristle-carrying portion carries injected bristles, which are connected through the wall of the bristle-carrying portion integral with a bristle-carrying portion inside lining plastic core.
  • the cap and the shaft are preferably made of a different plastic material than the plastic core and the bristles. Ideally, these two plastic materials are chosen so that they weld together in the course of spraying the bristles.
  • the bristles, the stem and the cap thus form a one-piece component.
  • the applicator according to the invention is advantageous because there are nowhere montage facultye joints on him, could penetrate into the cosmetic mass to stay there permanently and then u.U. to form a stove for germs.
  • the cosmetic applicator is configured such that the cavity of the bristle-carrying section is open on the end side facing away from the cap on the front side of the bristle-carrying section.
  • the plastic mass which is to break through the wall of des.borstentagenden section locally and form the bristles, inject particularly free of bubbles.
  • the bristle-carrying portion is designed to have an at least substantially constant wall thickness, ideally ⁇ 1 mm, and more preferably ⁇ 0.75 mm. It is particularly preferred if the stem in its hollow region has a wall thickness of ⁇ 0.3 mm and better still ⁇ 0.25 mm.
  • the handle portion is at least partially hollow and in its interior has a separating portion which pressure-tightly separates its cavity from the cavity of the bristle-carrying portion, such that even under the influence of a several hundred bar amounting injection pressure is no breakthrough.
  • the handle portion is solid at its end facing away from the handle and thus forms a separating portion, which accounts for about 1/5 to 1/2 of the total length of the handle portion and ensures a reliable seal.
  • the stem portion seals reliably even when the cycle times are kept relatively short and the stalk portion injected together with the cap in a first step at the time in which the bristles are injected in a second step, is not fully cooled ,
  • a cap-side closure element is provided on the cap, which is designed so that it forms an applicator quick release in cooperation with a corresponding container-side closure element, which is designed as a bayonet closure or preferably as a multi-start short thread and is designed so that the cap-side and the container-side closure element with a rotational movement ⁇ a 3/8 turn and better still with a rotational movement ⁇ a 1/4 turn from a fully closed position can be transferred to a no longer fixed in the direction of the applicator longitudinal axis position.
  • the majority of the cap is formed from a number of radially projecting from a common center or, better still, a number of substantially parallel adjacent ribs.
  • This preferred embodiment is of particular importance for the applicator according to the invention, since such an embodiment of the cap has a very positive effect on its demoldability, compared with the production of the cap as a pipe section which delimits an enclosed area in the circumferential direction and therefore on the side of the injection mold requires a slide.
  • the handle section is integrally connected at its end facing the cap to a plate which preferably extends substantially in the radial direction.
  • the plate goes in turn in one piece in the cap.
  • a blank hereinafter referred to as "main component of the applicator” is produced, which comprises a grip surface on its outer periphery forming a cap for sealing a cosmetic reservoir, which integrally into a passing from her protruding shaft.
  • the shaft integrally forms a stem portion and a bristle-carrying portion.
  • the bristles are injection-molded onto the bristle-carrying section.
  • the procedure is such that the bristle-forming plastic compound is injected into the hollow interior of the bristle-carrying section.
  • the bristle-carrying section 6 is formed after the injection molding of the blank from the first additional mold imaging it, while the remaining blank remains in the mold cavity of the main mold used for its production. Then, a, the outer periphery of the bristle-carrying portion 6 completely enclosing second auxiliary form is applied, which has the bristle-forming cavities and which is brought close to the plant to the main mold.
  • the procedure is such that the parting line between the main mold and the first auxiliary mold lies in a plane which intersects the massive separating section of the shaft. This ensures that the corresponding parting line, even after the application of the second additional form again readily fulfills its function.
  • FIG. 2 shows the finished applicator in section along its longitudinal axis L.
  • FIG. 3 shows a single bristle and illustrates what is to be understood in the context of the invention by the term "bristle”.
  • FIG. 4 shows an enlarged section of the wall of the bristle-carrying portion 6 and the plastic mass, which forms the individual bristles 7 and 6 fills the bristle-carrying portion centrally.
  • FIG. 5 shows the mold assembly with which the main component of the applicator is injected.
  • FIG. 6 shows how the main component after its spraying and subsequent cooling partially formed to insert them in a subsequent step in the second additional form.
  • FIG. 7 Fig. 12 shows the moment when the second auxiliary mold has been applied, so that the ensemble is now ready to carry out the second injection molding process in which the bristles are produced.
  • FIG. 9 shows a third embodiment not according to the invention in section along the applicator axis L, wherein this third embodiment in the region of the bristle-carrying portion corresponds to the previously described embodiments.
  • FIG. 10 shows a side view of the third embodiment.
  • FIG. 12 illustrates again the specially designed cap of the third embodiment.
  • FIG. 13 Figure 11 illustrates the portion of the closure to be mounted on the cosmetic reservoir and forming the counterpart to the portion of the closure formed in Figure 19 as part of the cap.
  • FIG. 14 shows a section with a circular curved section through the middle part of the mold, or one half thereof.
  • the Fig. 15 illustrates an optional embodiment of the cap, which can be formed particularly favorable.
  • FIG. 2 shows a finished Kosmetikapplikator according to the invention
  • FIG. 1 shows the one-piece main component of the applicator, from which the finished cosmetic applicator is produced by the injection of bristles.
  • the applicator consists of a cap 3, which is integrally connected to a shaft 4, see. FIG. 2 ,
  • the shaft 4 has a longitudinal axis L.
  • the shaft 4 is in turn divided into two sections with different functionality and consists integrally of a stem portion 5 and a bristle-carrying portion 6, see.
  • FIG. 1 The stem portion 5 provides for the sufficient spatial distance between the bristle trim and the handle formed by the cap 3, which is required to give the applicator desired by the users application behavior.
  • the bristle-carrying portion 6 serves to anchor the bristle trim, which allows the order of the cosmetic and preferably consists of at least 300 bristles, which in Fig. 2 are shown only rudimentarily.
  • a connecting member between the shaft 4 and its stem portion 5 and the cap 3 is preferably a plate 11. This extends substantially in the radial direction relative to the longitudinal axis L.
  • the plate is preferably positioned so that it is the cap 3 forming tube divided into two sections, wherein the length of the applicator facing portion makes up about 1/3 of the length of the applicator facing away from the section.
  • the plate preferably forms a sealing surface, which is intended to bear against the end ring surface of a bottle neck.
  • the stem portion 5 is solid at least over a length that makes up at least 1/6, better still at least 1/4 of its total length. In this way it is reliably prevented that the plastic compound injected in the second step for forming the bristles still blocks the lock in the case of short cycle times breaks through warm stem section and penetrates towards the cap 3.
  • bristles are preferably addressed such order organs, as in FIG. 3 shown.
  • Each of these bristles preferably has a substantially conical mantle.
  • a cone angle ⁇ is found between 0.5 ° and 2.5 °, cf. FIG. 3 .
  • these bristles are usually very flexible. They can therefore typically be deflected under the influence of the forces which normally occur during the application in such a way that their tip moves away from the rest position by a distance S which corresponds to at least three times and better still at least five times the diameter of the bristle without the bristle being permanently deformed becomes.
  • the plastic compound that forms the bristles, and the plastic that forms the bristle-carrying portion 6, very intimately connect; There are no microscopically small joints left, which may possibly encourage colonization by fungi or bacteria.
  • the plastic mass that forms the bristles is made of a plastic which is more elastic and / or has a lower Shore hardness than the plastic from which the FIG. 1 consists of the main component of the applicator shown.
  • the second slide 17 is preferably pulled first and then the first mold side part 16a is removed.
  • the first mold side part 16a is ideally designed in several parts, so that the individual components of the mold side part 16a can be pulled apart in different directions, as indicated by the arrows 18 and 19 roughly.
  • the main component is preferably not formed in this stage of the process, that is, the other components of the mold remain in position relative to each other.
  • the components of the injection mold which now still contain the main component, are rotated in order to bring the bristle-carrying section 6 to the side of the injection point and later to be able to connect the mold surrounding it to the injection point.
  • the shaping takes place such that the second mold side part 16b is segmented like a cake piece, so that the individual parts of the mold side part 16b can be moved apart in the radial direction so as to be able to mold the bristles without breakage.
  • the first slider 15 is pulled. If an internal thread on the cap is present, this is now disengaged by a screwing movement of the entire applicator with the mold main part, whereupon the two mold halves of the mold main part are moved apart perpendicular to the longitudinal axis L of the applicator, so that the finished applicator can be removed, without damaging its bristle trim.
  • FIG. 8 An embodiment not according to the invention shows the FIG. 8 .
  • the second embodiment is characterized in that in him the shaft 4 is hollow on the entire length inside. Unlike the first embodiment, therefore, the second embodiment has no separation section 10, which is made solid.
  • the first auxiliary mold part 16 a is removed, as already in connection with the FIGS. 5 to 7 has been discussed.
  • the first slider 15 is pulled and replaced by a first slide 15, which forms the cavity which is to be filled in the subsequent injection molding with the second plastic material, which also forms the bristles, to in this way the improved grip surface to form the cap.
  • cap 3 of the present invention one-piece applicator with the example of the Fig. 5 to 7 equipped show conventional internal thread.
  • caps are used within the scope of the invention, which have no internal thread, but are dimensioned so that they can be fixed in a frictionally engaged manner on a correspondingly adapted neck of the cosmetic storage container.
  • FIGS. 9 to 12 and 14 show and will now be described in more detail.
  • the closure according to the invention or KurzgewindeverInstitut characterized by the fact that it has on diametrically opposite sides in each case a positive locking element, preferably in the form of a hook and ideally in the form of a thread on the finished Unit may preferably be transferred from a fully closed to a fully open position by a rotational movement of less than a 3/8 turn and ideally by a rotational movement of less than 1/4 turn.
  • the special feature is that the thread on the cap is not designed as an internal thread, but as an external thread.
  • the thread in the sense that its thread groove is accessible from the outer peripheral surface of the cap, such as the Fig. 12 shows.
  • the actual threaded effective surface is therefore not formed as a groove between adjacent elevations on the inner peripheral surface of the cap. Instead, the thread effective area is formed on each side by the preferably substantially radially extending side wall of a single, extending from the outer peripheral surface of the cap 3 in the radial direction extending in the depth, along a helix extending slot. In this engages a mirror image formed on the cosmetic reservoir thread, see. again Fig. 12 and the later to be explained in more detail Fig. 13 ,
  • the applicator can be formed without first having to unscrew the threaded portion of its cap from the injection mold by the freshly sprayed applicator is only several times rotated about its own longitudinal axis L.
  • the short thread according to the invention allows the shape in a plane which coincides with the longitudinal axis L. the applicator coincides - such that one part of the mold forms the one along a helix extending slot and the other part of the mold forms the opposite, running along a helical slot.
  • Fig. 14 shows (side cut) how it forms the assigned slot.
  • the multi-start namely in the specific case namely double-threaded, which is formed from the threads 31 a and 31 b (on the container-side part of the closure) and from the threads 32 a and 32 b is in the FIGS. 12 and 13 clearly visible.
  • a thread is here in each case designated that region which is on three sides, namely upwards, downwards and in a circumferential direction, closed and with which the closure element can therefore exert on the other closure element a closing force acting. It is also easy to see that each thread is preceded by a free screw surface 33a and 33b (on the container-side part of the closure) or 34a and 34b (on the applicator-side part of the closure).
  • precede refers to the direction of closure.
  • the thread is designed as a coarse thread, that is, the pitch angle ⁇ of each of the threads is at least 5 ° to the horizontal, better even at least 7 ° to the horizontal, see. Fig. 19 and 21. Ideally, at least 8 ° to the horizontal are chosen.
  • the cap is made of a number of solid lamellae 27, each separated by a space 28.
