Definitions

  • the invention is in the field of installation equipment for containers in rail vehicle technology.
  • the invention also relates to a rail vehicle with an assembly for containers.
  • the invention relates to an assembly for a compressed air tank for a rail vehicle.
  • Such a rail vehicle or such an assembly for a compressed air tank is eg of the DE 10 2011 013 175 A1 known.
  • components for a vehicle which are both dependent on the function of the component itself as well as the position of the component in the vehicle.
  • a component that is to be mounted on the underbody of a vehicle exposed to other loads, as a component to be installed in the interior.
  • components on the underbody are exposed to strong mechanical loads.
  • snow on the vehicle e.g. Melt on tunnels and can condense into a thicker layer of ice, fall into the track bed and / or hit the container or "splash" gravel. At very high speeds, gravel flight may also occur from the track bed.
  • the individual safety requirements are set up separately for the respective components.
  • the requirements in the case where a Container contains a more or less dangerous substance or a medium under high pressure stores and this container is still mounted on the underbody of a vehicle of course, be relatively high.
  • the safety requirements usually relate, for example, to the mechanical, electrical, thermal, biological, chemical and climatic stresses during the lifetime of a container.
  • Pressure vessel systems must, for example, in accordance with the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) to withstand the mechanical stresses occurring at the place of installation without affecting their functionality and without changing their operating condition ("EBA-Verwaltungsrichtline for installations requiring monitoring of rail vehicles of the federal railways in accordance with ⁇ 33 Eisenbahn-Bau and Operating Regulations (EBO) ", Annex 4.2).
  • EBA Federal Railway Authority
  • the materials and construction of such containers may be selected accordingly.
  • the containers such as compressed air tanks, often pre-assembled by means of straps on a support frame and combined to form an assembly, which is then easy to mount on the vehicle.
  • an assembly for attachment to a vehicle chassis of a rail vehicle.
  • the assembly comprises a container for fluids and a protective element for the container, which at least partially surrounds the container at a defined distance from the outside of the container.
  • the protective element By separating the function of the container and the function of the mechanical protection provided by the protective element, it is possible to use lighter materials for the container or to choose thinner wall thicknesses for the container. By providing a predefined distance between the container and the protection, the container wall is not affected even if the protective element is deformed. As a result, the total weight of the assembly is reduced, which is advantageous in terms of operating costs in rail vehicles.
  • the protection element also ensures compliance with safety requirements, such as the requirement for gravel flight.
  • the wall thickness of the container can be reduced compared to known systems.
  • the protective element and the container can be designed such that, despite the additional protective element, the material expenditure is reduced overall. Another advantage is the reduction of assembly effort, since less force is needed to mount the comparatively lightweight assembly.
  • the container may be made of a different material than the protective element.
  • the material of the protective element can be chosen so that it opposes, for example punctiform loads a correspondingly high resistance.
  • the protective element substantially in the form of a half-shell and surrounds the container at a defined distance to the outside of the container. Due to the design of the protective element as a half shell, the protective element offers maximum protection for the container that surrounds it, while minimizing the cost of materials. This will continue to save weight.
  • the fixation on a defined distance from the container wall provides additional security, since, for example, a deformation of the protective element is not transmitted directly to the container under mechanical stress.
  • the achieved distance of the protective element to the container ensures a rapid flow of contaminants on the container, for example of water, which is located between the container and the protective element.
  • the protective element comprises a half-shell made of a bent sheet metal, at whose opposite end faces end plates are welded.
  • bent sheet metal enables cost-effective production.
  • the welded-on end plates additionally increase safety, since they also protect the container on the front sides (especially in the arrangement of the containers in which their longitudinal axes are parallel to the direction of travel of the vehicle).
  • the front panels cause a stiffening of the mudguard. For the same load of the mudguard thus a lower deformation is to be expected and the mudguard can be compared to an apron without front plates closer to the container.
  • the protective element in the form of a half-shell can also be carried out without front plates. This allows a further weight saving.
  • the protective element has a perforated protective plate.
  • a perforated mudguard allows for further weight savings of the assembly and allows permeability of the protective member, e.g. for water, so that no backwater can form to the container. Furthermore, a visual inspection of the container can be performed by the perforation.
  • Steel air tanks have - depending on their nominal volumes - a wall thickness of, for example, about 3.5 to 5.5 mm (DIN 5590, DIN EN 286-3).
  • the use of steel is a cost effective way to make the container.
  • this steel has other, desirable properties, such as sufficient elasticity.
  • the arrangement of the container with a protective plate can contribute to weight reduction.
  • the container is a compressed air tank.
  • the arrangement of the assembly and the protective element is particularly well suited to the safety requirements and the loads of a compressed air tank.
  • the compressed air tank is approved and designed for a maximum operating pressure (PS) of up to 10 bar. This increases safety and ensures some flexibility in the use of the container.
  • PS maximum operating pressure
  • the protective element allows a visual inspection of the container, for example by the provision of corresponding openings.
  • the simple visual inspection allows a safe operation of the container, since the container can be controlled at any time, without making any modifications.
  • the protective element complies with legal requirements due to the uncomplicated visual inspection (for example, according to DIN 27205-7: 2006-04, table).
  • containers which are essentially constructed of an aluminum alloy or a non-metallic material. This choice of materials allows for a reduction in container weight, while at the same time meeting safety requirements by using the additional protection element.
  • the protective element is designed to protect the container against mechanical stress, in particular against stone chipping.
  • the assembly can be easily used on the undercarriage of a rail vehicle, where containers with their necessary for the compressed air system drainage options at the lowest points and therefore are preferred mounted.
  • the assembly further comprises at least one container fastening element which surrounds the container on its outer side and holds it.
  • the protective element is fastened to the container fastening element. This allows an uncomplicated installation with few individual parts.
  • the attachment of the protective element on the container fastening element further reduces the weight (saving additional frames, holders and supporting structures).
  • the protective element is fastened exclusively to the container fastening element. As a result, it is possible to dispense with additional fastening elements attached to the underbody of the vehicle, which allows a further weight saving.
  • the container fastener comprises a hinge band clamp.
  • a hinged band clamp is an easy-to-handle and cost-effective container fastener that provides sufficient strength.
  • the assembly further comprises a support frame, to which the container is fastened, preferably by means of the container fastening element.
  • the assembly comprises at least two containers, each container being fastened to a support frame by means of one, preferably two container fastening elements assigned to it and each container is partially surrounded by its own protective element which is attached to the respective container fastening element (s) of the associated container fastening element (s) Container is attached.
  • each container can still be dismantled or replaced without removing another container. This simplifies assembly and increases the safety of the assembly.
  • the protective element can be mounted independently of the container, ie, the protective element can be removed without having to remove the container. This allows easy, safe, and fast assembly of the assembly. In addition, so the protection element of the assembly (for example, if it is already mounted on the vehicle structure) can be replaced without having to replace the container, which reduces the cost.
  • the protective element is thus preferably detachably connected to the container. Preferably, the protective element is detachable on Container fastener mounted and can be removed without the container and / or the container fastener must be dismantled.
  • the protective element includes an opening to allow access to a nozzle in the container wall.
  • the opening ensures easy accessibility to the filler neck or drain port of the container.
