Definitions

  • the invention relates to a flashlight with integrated roll protection, comprising a rod-shaped housing, at the first end of a lamp head and at its opposite, second end a cap is arranged, wherein the lamp head has a light exit opening and a surrounding peripheral wall with a rounded outer contour and the peripheral wall is formed with at least one cross-section secant-like intersecting roll protection surface.
  • Such flashlights are used in professional use and also referred to as so-called "Tactical Flashlights". Due to the particularly stable embodiment, it is also possible to use the flashlights as an impact weapon against persons or for destroying glass panes. Since the housing of the flashlights has a substantially round cross-section or is characterized by a rounded outer contour, the lamps tend to roll off after depositing on a non-level or rocking pad, which is particularly disadvantageous when the operator of the flashlight, the light, for example needed for a two-handed work with tools or weapon and the light cone no longer hits the (working) surface to be illuminated.
  • the US 5,339,229 provides for this, postpone on the rod-shaped housing a cylindrical ring with five or six evenly distributed on its outer side rolling protection surfaces.
  • the cylindrical ring should be frictionally and, if a ferromagnetic flashlight is used, additionally magnetically held on the rod-shaped housing.
  • a generic state of the art discloses the US 6,158,874 with a flashlight, which has a rod-shaped housing and at its front end a tulip-shaped lamp head.
  • the lamp head has a respect to the rod-shaped housing concentric and paraxial ring with a plurality of immediately adjacent in the circumferential direction, plane rolling protection surfaces.
  • the main disadvantage of this known flashlight is that the flashlight when depositing on a substrate due to the smaller diameter, the lamp head remote from the end of the rod-shaped housing assumes a relation to the pad inclined position in which the rear end is inclined downwards. This in turn means that the rolling protection surfaces are not or only slightly in operative contact with the pad and the desired roll protection is not achieved in the desired dimensions.
  • Another serious disadvantage is that the light cone is no longer emitted axially parallel from the lamp head in the stored state of the flashlight, but undefined slanted upward.
  • the US 1,211,465 discloses a flashlight with roll protection according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a flashlight with an effective and not lose rolling protection.
  • the object is achieved with a flashlight realized in which at the second end or the cap a respect to the rod-shaped housing raised support ring is formed, whose outer contour lies in a common plane with the at least one rolling protection surface.
  • support ring and roll protection surface results in a defined two-part footprint at opposite ends of the flashlight, wherein the appropriately sized support ring keeps the rolling protection surface in full contact with the surface.
  • the feature of a rolling protection surface and the dimensioning of the outer contour of the support ring lead to the synergistic effect that one of the rolling protection surfaces is always kept in full contact with the surface. Since the anti-rolling surface intersects the cross-section at a right angle to the axial extent of the housing, an at least linear contact with the base is already present in this spatial direction specified. In the direction of the axial extension of the housing, the support ring raises the second end in such a way that the line-like contact results in a surface-like contact of the rolling protection surface on the base.
  • the flashlight according to the invention can be due to the full-surface rolling protection surface a particularly effective roll protection, which is particularly relevant if the flashlight is stored parallel or obliquely to a table edge, the corner of a step or a beaded roof edge / hood and the user both hands for other activities must be free. In these cases, it is imperative that the flashlight remain in its defined storage position, the anti-roll surface even allowing a partial projection of the flashlight over the edge of the table, corner of the step, etc. In this respect, a roll protection is also understood as a tilt protection.
  • the rolling protection surfaces must be aligned with its surface parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rod-shaped housing.
  • both the rolling protection surface is formed axially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the flashlight and the rolling protection surface to the support on the support ring.
  • the support ring has at least one vertex, which corresponds in terms of its radius to the vertical distance of the rolling protection surface to the longitudinal axis.
  • front is understood in the flashlight, the end of the lamp head and the term “behind” the end of the cap.
  • the support ring is an integral part of the rod-shaped housing or the cap. Since the support ring with respect to the rod-shaped housing raised, that is provided with a larger outer diameter, the flashlight can also be gripped from behind while the index and middle finger are placed on opposite sides of the rod-shaped housing. With simultaneous pressure of the thumb against the rear end facing away from the lamp head prevents the support ring slipping the flashlight between the index and middle finger forward. This grip technology allows a positive fixing of the flashlight with one hand of the operator.
  • three evenly distributed rolling protection surfaces can be provided.
  • this is on one of the rolling protection surfaces, while the other two rolling protection surfaces are each obliquely upwards visible and particularly well suited for printing or engraving information.
  • the name or service / unit comes as information, if the flashlight is issued as an advertising material, the name of the advertiser in question.
  • the support ring is arranged spaced apart in the axial direction of the flashlight to the at least one roll protection surface, wherein in the region between the at least one roll protection surface and the support ring preferably a gripping surface is arranged.
  • the peripheral wall is formed at least with a conically tapering in the axial direction to the front wall portion.
  • a conical shape of the front lamp head simplifies the insertion of the flashlight in a designated holster, which is often worn by professional users for the close-up transport of the flashlight.
  • the at least one rolling protection surface can then be formed at least partially in the conically tapering wall section.
  • a plurality of rolling protection surfaces spaced from each other in the circumferential direction are provided, wherein between two adjacent rolling protection surfaces always a portion of the otherwise cylindrical or conical peripheral wall is arranged. This allows the flashlight to grab particularly well on her lamp head. If a holster is used, the flashlight can be particularly smooth and without tilting into this insert.
  • the support ring has a cylindrical outer diameter, wherein the cylindrical outer diameter is aligned in the axial direction of the rod-shaped housing with the rolling protection surface.
  • the rear bearing surface of the deposited flashlight is thus formed from the circular support ring, resulting in a line-like contact area with the pad results.
  • the flashlight then in the area of its rod-shaped housing, which usually also serves as a grip surface, only round contours, so that a particularly comfortable carrying the flashlight over a long period is possible.
  • protruding housing parts are avoided, which would make it difficult, for example, the insertion of the flashlight in a piece of luggage or holster.
  • the support ring has at least one planar support surface, wherein the support surface (s) is aligned / aligned in the axial direction with the rolling protection surface. Consequently, in this embodiment, the support ring has a significantly larger diameter than in the first embodiment, since the bearing surfaces are still singzus from the outer periphery. As a suitable outer diameter of the support ring comes about the maximum outer diameter of the lamp head into consideration. The diameter of the support ring correlates directly with the desired size of the support surface (s), with a larger outer diameter leads to a large support surface and vice versa.
  • the light exit opening is surrounded by wall extensions of the peripheral wall protruding in the axial direction of the rod-shaped housing.
  • the wall extensions make it possible, for example, to destroy glass panes without damaging the scattered glass pane located on the lamp head or the light source arranged behind it. If the lamp head is provided with wall extensions, a tapered peripheral wall should also be provided, since otherwise the flashlight can be inserted only with great effort into the tightly made holster.
  • the at least one roller protection surface is formed into one of the wall extensions.
  • a particularly balanced weight distribution and excellent gripping of the flashlight can be achieved if each of the rolling protection surfaces extends into the associated wall extension in front of it in the axial direction. This also leads to a reduction in wall thickness in the wall extensions, resulting in a particularly sharp front edge, which can be effectively used as a weapon or to destroy even thick-walled glass.
  • a return can be provided, wherein the return is formed as a circular cutout with a constant radius. This results in a crown-like structure of the front lamp head, which ensures an increased surface pressure in the region of the protruding wall extensions when hitting a surface.
  • the constant radius in the area of the recesses reduces the tendency to get stuck in garments or harness.
  • the cap preferably has, at its end remote from the lamp head, three stand elements distributed in the circumferential direction and standing back in the axial direction.
  • the stand elements are each constructed identically and clamp a wobble-free standing surface at right angles to the axial extent of the flashlight.
  • the flashlight according to this embodiment can not only lie down roll safe, but also stand up stable.
  • the stand elements crown-like surrounding a centrally disposed therein actuator button and project beyond this in the axial direction to the rear. As a result, an accidental turning off or turning on the flashlight is reduced when standing upright.
  • the Fig. 1 shows a side view of a flashlight according to a first preferred embodiment.
  • the flashlight consists of a rod-shaped housing 1, at the front end 2 of a lamp head 3 attacks.
  • the rod-shaped housing 1 is closed with a cap 5.
  • the cap 5 is preferably connected via a threaded connection releasably connected to the rod-shaped housing 1 and thus closes off the rod-shaped housing 1 in its longitudinal axis 8 to the rear.
  • the rod-shaped housing 1 is inter alia a battery compartment for the electrical power supply of the flashlight.
  • the outer surface of the rod-shaped housing 1 is provided with a corrugation as a gripping surface 20.
  • the lamp head 3 has a peripheral wall 7 with a cup-shaped connection region 23 to the rod-shaped housing 1 and a conically tapered wall section 12 adjoining the front.
  • the conically tapered wall section 12 surrounds a light exit opening 6 which is aligned with a diffuser glass oriented orthogonally to the longitudinal axis 8 18 (see Fig. 2 ) is closed.
  • the desired full-surface contact between one of the rolling protection surfaces 9a, 9b, 9c and the base is due to the fact that the cap 5 located at the rear end 4 is formed with a support ring 10.
  • the support ring 10 is a bead, which has a larger diameter than the rod-shaped housing 1 and whose outer diameter 13 is dimensioned such that the rear end 4 is raised and the respective rolling protection surface 9a, 9b, 9c rests completely on the substrate.
  • the rolling protection surface 9c and the outer diameter 13 of the support ring 10 form a common plane eleventh
  • the rolling protection surfaces 9a, 9b, 9c are aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis 8 of the flashlight or of the rod-shaped housing 1, so that the light cone emitted from the light exit opening 6 exits with its axis parallel to the substrate.
  • the rolling protection surfaces 9a, 9b, 9c can also run inclined to the longitudinal axis 8, so that the support ring 10 would have to have a correspondingly larger or smaller outer diameter 13 for full-surface contact with the base. In this case, the axis of the light cone would not be aligned parallel to the surface.
  • the conical wall portion 12 is in extension of the rolling protection surfaces 9a, 9b, 9c in wall extensions 15a, 15b, 15c over.
  • the wall extensions 15a, 15b, 15c are each separated from each other by recesses 22 located therebetween.
  • the returns 22 have a preferably semicircular shape. How very good the Fig. 2 can be seen, the wall extensions 15 a, 15 b, 15 c are arranged concentrically around a light source 19.
  • the rear view of the Fig. 3 illustrates the up to the roll protection surfaces 9a, 9b, 9c zoom reaching approximately circular outer diameter 13 of the support ring 10.
  • rearwardly projecting standing elements 16a, 16b, 16c are formed on the cap 5 .
  • the stand elements 16a, 16b, 16c are uniformly distributed in the circumferential direction and surround a recessed actuating button 17 arranged therein with which the flashlight can be turned on and off in particular.
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 show a modified embodiment in which the support ring 10 is not disposed on the cap 5, but at the rear end 4 of the rod-shaped housing 1.
  • the support ring 10 is an integral part of the rod-shaped housing 1 and not the cap. 5
  • a total of 3 evenly distributed in the circumferential direction planar support surfaces 14a, 14b, 14c are formed on the support ring.
  • Each of the support surfaces 14a, 14b, 14c is aligned with an associated rolling protection surface 9a, 9b, 9c on the lamp head 3, so that, for example, the rolling protection surface 9c and the support surface 14c are arranged in a common plane 11.
  • the flashlight can be fastened, for example, to a piece of clothing.
