Description
- The present invention relates to a dishwasher comprising a storage unit.
- In the general use of the dishwashers, the pre-washing, the main washing, the first rinsing, the second rinsing and the drying steps are respectively realized during the washing programs, and water is discharged at the end of each step in the washing cycle and clean water is taken into the machine from the mains for the next step. In the washing step, after washing is performed with cold water in the first phase, the heater is operated and the washing liquid is heated. The dishes washed during the rinsing step are first washed with cold water, then the temperature of the water is increased and the hot rinsing step starts. In the washing programs, high amount of energy is consumed during the steps where the water is heated.
- In addition to the embodiment disclosed above, nowadays embodiments are known, wherein the rinsing water used during the hot rinsing step is stored in a storage tank in the machine in order to provide water and energy saving and then is used again. However, in these embodiments, in order that the water stored in the storage tank has sufficient hygienic features, solutions that cause additional costs and increase energy consumption are presented.
- In the state of the art German Patent Document No.
DE4004057 , a dishwasher is described, comprising a separate housing unit which acts as a recycling unit having an intermediate storage, a sterilization unit, a water control system, and a display and an operating unit. - In the state of the art Japanese Patent Document No.
JP2005034373 - The aim of the present invention is the realization of a dishwasher wherein the water stored in the storage unit to be used in the next step has the desired hygienic storage conditions without requiring additional costs.
- The dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a storage unit wherein the rinsing water is stored to be used in the next washing step and a control unit that detects if the rinsing water is to be transferred to the storage unit to be used in the next washing step, and when it is detected that the rinsing water is to be transferred to the storage unit, that adjusts the rinsing water temperature recorded in its memory to a temperature value higher than the rinsing water temperature in the case that the rinsing water is not transferred to the storage unit as much as a difference value recorded in its memory.
- The user starts the washing cycle, after placing the items to be washed into the washing tub and loading the detergent into the appropriate compartment of the dishwasher. The user moreover uses auxiliary cleaning agents such as rinse aid in addition to the detergent in order to increase the washing efficiency of the dishwasher. When the washing cycle starts, the sensor controls the presence of rinse aid in the dishwasher and transmits the obtained information to the control unit.
- In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a control unit that adjusts the rinsing water temperature to a first temperature value recorded in its memory upon detecting that the rinsing water is not to be transferred to the storage unit and upon receiving the information from the sensor that no rinse aid is present.
- In another version of this embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a control unit that adjusts the rinsing water temperature to a second temperature value lower than the first temperature value as much as a first difference value recorded in its memory upon detecting that the rinsing water is not to be transferred to the storage unit and upon receiving from the sensor the information that the rinse aid is present. Thus, the antibacterial and antimicrobial features of the chemical compounds contained in the rinse aids are benefited from and the rinsing water is enabled to be stored in the desired hygienic conditions in the storage unit by consuming less energy.
- In another version of this embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a control unit that adjusts the rinsing water temperature to a third temperature value higher than the first temperature value as much as a second difference value recorded in its memory upon detecting that the rinsing water is to be transferred to the storage unit and upon receiving from the sensor the information that no rinse aid is present. Thus, by means of the rinsing water being transferred to the storage unit at a higher temperature value, the hygienic conditions of the rinsing water stored in the storage unit are provided to be improved.
- In another version of this embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a control unit that adjusts the rinsing water temperature to a fourth temperature value lower than the third temperature value as much as a second difference value recorded in its memory upon detecting that the rinsing water is to be transferred to the storage unit and upon receiving from the sensor the information that the rinse aid is present. Thus, the hygiene-improving features of the surfactants contained in the rinse aid are benefited from and the rinsing water stored in the storage unit is provided to have the desired hygienic features by consuming less energy.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the first difference value is equal to the second difference value.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the first difference value is lower than the second difference value.
- In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the first difference value is higher than the second difference value.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the control unit detects the dirtiness level of the items to be washed, placed in the washing tub and at the beginning of the washing cycle automatically starts the washing program having the storing step that provides the rinsing water to be transferred to the storage unit to be used in the next washing step.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing program having the storing step that, by means of the additional sensors disposed in the dishwasher, provides the rinsing water to be transferred to the storage unit to be used in the next washing step, is automatically started by the dishwasher at any step of the washing cycle. Thus, water saving and energy saving are automatically provided apart from the user intervention.
- In the dishwasher of the present invention, the antibacterial chemical structures of the compounds contained in the rinse aids are benefited from, thus the rinsing water transferred to the storage unit to be used in the next washing step is enabled to be stored in the desired hygienic conditions by consuming less energy.
