Abstract

L'invention concerne un convoyeur continu, comme, par exemple, une bande transporteuse, pour le transport de produits lourds, en vrac ou en colis. Ce convoyeur comprend une bande transporteuse (1) sans fin qui circule entre un rouleau d'entraînement (2) et un rouleau de renvoi (3). Le rouleau d'entraînement (2) est entraîné par un moteur synchrone (6), multipolaire, à excitation permanente, qui, à une vitesse nominale de rotation relativement faible, fournit un couple très élevé. Le moteur synchrone (6) peut entraîner directement le rouleau d'entraînement (2) ou encore via une transmission de réduction (15) à un seul rapport, offrant un rapport de transmission relativement faible. L'entraînement selon l'invention se caractérise par un moment d'inertie de masse réduit jusqu'à 10 fois par rapport aux systèmes d'entraînement courants. De ce fait, on réduit le risque de détérioration ou même de déchirure de la bande transporteuse (1) en cas de perturbations, de telle sorte que la sécurité de fonctionnement est considérablement améliorée.
