  • An advantage of the embodiment illustrated by figures 13 a-c en figures 3a and 3b is that the background element 5 can be placed at a larger distance d from the product stream. This prevents the background element 5 from being polluted by the product stream.
  • the only essential issue is whether or not, for every immediate position of the moving light bundle, a signal on the background element 5 is obtained. Because one uses a concentrated light bundle 45, such as a laser beam, the light will not substantially diverge once it has passed the product stream, even if the background element 5 is not being placed in direct proximity of the scanned product stream. Consequently, the solid angle at which the concentrated light bundle 34, for an immediate position of the scanning light beam 45, strikes the background element 5 is small enough to enable distinguishing, with sufficient accuracy, between the different positions of the moving light bundle in the scan line.

Claims (16)

  1. Appareil pour trier un flux de produits (2, 3), comprenant :
    - un système de fourniture (1) pour fournir le flux de produits à une zone de balayage (28),
    - un élément d'arrière-plan (5) positionné derrière la zone de balayage,
    - au moins une unité d'inspection (9, 10) consistant en
    . une unité de balayage (43) pour éclairer le flux de produits le long de la largeur entière W du flux de produits, et
    . une unité de détection (44) pour capturer une zone de lumière renvoyée par les produits,
    - un système de rejet (11),
    caractérisé en ce que ledit élément d'arrière-plan (5) consiste en des moyens pour capturer une lumière incidente et la diriger vers un moyen de détection (40, 40') qui est configuré pour convertir ladite lumière en un signal électrique, ledit appareil comprenant en outre des moyens pour générer un signal d'emplacement (C') qui est indicatif de l'emplacement des produits, en détectant l'incidence immédiate de la lumière sur l'élément d'arrière-plan (5), dans lequel ladite unité de détection (44) est une caméra agencée pour capturer une image de la zone de balayage (28).
  2. Appareil selon la revendication 1, dans lequel ladite caméra est sensible aux faisceaux de lumière laser (46, 47, 48) produits par ladite unité de balayage et réfléchis par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5).
  3. Appareil selon la revendication 1, dans lequel ladite caméra est insensible aux faisceaux de lumière laser (46, 47, 48) produits par ladite unité de balayage et réfléchis par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5), et dans lequel ladite caméra est configurée pour capturer une lumière provenant de l'environnement ou produite par une source de lumière séparée, et réfléchie par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5).
  4. Appareil selon la revendication 1, dans lequel ladite caméra est sensible à la fois :
    - aux faisceaux de lumière laser (46, 47, 48) produits par ladite unité de balayage et réfléchis par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5), et
    - à la lumière provenant de l'environnement ou produite par une source de lumière séparée et réfléchie par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5).
  5. Appareil selon la revendication 3 ou 4, dans lequel ladite source de lumière séparée est une rangée de DEL émettant un rayonnement de DEL pulsé.
  6. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel ladite caméra est une caméra à matrice plan focal.
  7. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 6, dans lequel l'élément d'arrière-plan est une fibre optique avec une surface rainurée pour capturer la lumière entrante.
  8. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 6, dans lequel l'élément d'arrière-plan est une pluralité de détecteurs configurés pour convertir la lumière incidente en un signal électrique.
  9. Procédé pour trier un flux de produits en produits à accepter et en produits à rejeter, comprenant les étampes :
    - de déplacement à travers une zone de balayage des produits à trier, fournis en un flux de produits s'étendant sur une certaine largeur et ayant une épaisseur essentiellement d'une couche unique de produits,
    - dans cette zone de balayage, de balayage linéaire à travers la largeur de ce flux de produits d'un ou de plusieurs faisceaux de lumière concentrés, qui éclairent, en l'absence de produits, un élément d'arrière-plan positionné derrière ce flux de produits et s'étendant sur la largeur de celui-ci, caractérisé en ce que le procédé comprend en outre :
    - la capture d'une image de caméra de ladite zone de balayage, et la déduction, à partir de ladite image, de signaux électriques représentatifs de chaque produit dans ladite image,
    - la génération d'un ou de plusieurs signaux de commande sur la base de ladite image, moyennant quoi ces signaux de commande permettent d'effectuer une sélection entre les produits balayés à accepter d'une part et les produits balayés à rejeter d'autre part, et
    - le tri du flux de produits au moyen de ces un ou plusieurs signaux de commande,
    et caractérisé en outre en ce que :
    - l'élément d'arrière-plan consiste en des moyens pour capturer la lumière incidente et la diriger vers un moyen de détection qui est configuré pour convertir ladite lumière en un signal électrique, et
    - ladite étape de génération d'un ou de plusieurs signaux de commande comprend :
    . la génération d'un signal qui est indicatif de l'emplacement des produits balayés, dans lequel la génération du signal d'emplacement comprend la détection et la conversion de cette partie du faisceau de lumière de balayage concentré qui n'est pas arrêtée par les produits, obtenant ainsi un signal qui est indicatif de l'emplacement des produits balayés,
    . la génération desdits signaux de commande selon que les signaux électriques représentatifs desdits produits et déduits de ladite image de caméra dépassent ou non un seuil dans les zones où un produit est présent conformément au dit signal indicatif de l'emplacement des produits balayés.
  10. Procédé selon la revendication 9, dans lequel la caméra utilisée pour capturer ladite image est sensible aux faisceaux de lumière laser (46, 47, 48) produits par ladite unité de balayage et réfléchis par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5).
  11. Procédé selon la revendication 9, dans lequel la caméra utilisée pour capturer ladite image est insensible aux faisceaux de lumière laser (46, 47, 48) produits par ladite unité de balayage et réfléchis par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5), et dans lequel ladite caméra est configurée pour capturer une lumière provenant de l'environnement ou produite par une source de lumière séparée, et réfléchie par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5).
  12. Procédé selon la revendication 9, dans lequel la caméra utilisée pour capturer ladite image est sensible à la fois
    - aux faisceaux de lumière laser (46, 47, 48) produits par ladite unité de balayage et réfléchis par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5), et
    - la lumière provenant de l'environnement ou produite par une source de lumière séparée et réfléchie par les produits (2, 3) et l'élément d'arrière-plan (5).
  13. Procédé selon la revendication 11 ou 12, dans lequel ladite source de lumière séparée est une rangée de DEL émettant un rayonnement de DEL pulsé.
  14. Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications 9 à 13, dans lequel la caméra utilisée pour capturer ladite image est une caméra à matrice plan focal.
  15. Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications 9 à 14, dans lequel l'élément d'arrière-plan est une fibre optique avec une surface rainurée pour capturer la lumière entrante.
  16. Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications 9 à 14, dans lequel l'élément d'arrière-plan est une pluralité de détecteurs configurés pour convertir la lumière incidente en un signal électrique.
