Definitions
- the present invention relates to a pressure maintenance valve arrangement for a fuel line.
- the injection valves of the internal combustion engine are supplied with fuel via a common fuel line (common rail system). Fuel that is not supplied to the engine via the respective injectors is collected in a common fuel return line and returned to a fuel supply line.
- common fuel line common rail system
- a fuel pressure is maintained in the fuel return line via a pressure-holding valve.
- the fuel return line is filled with fuel.
- the publication DE 103 39 250 A1 describes a pressure holding valve that can be used to maintain a fuel pressure in a fuel line as well as for first filling the fuel line.
- the publication FR 2 933 147 A3 relates to a valve assembly consisting of a first chamber and a second chamber. Both chambers are separated from each other by a first valve and a second valve engaging the first valve. Depending on the fluid pressure opens in each case in the opposite direction, the first or second valve.
- the present invention is based on the recognition that the structure of conventional pressure holding valves is complicated and error prone.
- the object according to the invention is achieved by a pressure-maintaining valve arrangement for a fuel line, having a pressure line with a pressure-maintaining valve for maintaining a fuel pressure in the fuel line and a filling line for filling (first filling) the fuel line with fuel, in which an inlet of the pressure line is fluidly connected to an outlet of the filling line.
- the fluid secondary section is formed as an axial bore through the first spring-loaded closing body.
- the first spring-loaded closing body comprises a cylindrical shaft, which merges into the closing body head, and a spring, which surrounds the cylindrical shaft and acts on the closing body head.
- the closing body head has a rotationally symmetrical mushroom shape.
- the fluid secondary section comprises a sealing seat for receiving the second spring-loaded closing body.
- an outer wall of the first spring-loaded closing body comprises at least one axial guide for guiding fuel.
- the second spring-loaded closing body is formed by a sealing ball.
- a spring is provided in order to act on the second spring-loaded closing body for closing the fluid by-pass.
- the main fluid path and the secondary fluid path are formed in a housing and the first spring-loaded closing body and the second spring-loaded closing body are arranged axially displaceable in the housing.
- a spring force acting on the first closing body is less than a spring force acting on the second closing body.
- the main fluid path runs along an outer wall of the first spring-loaded closing body.
- a funnel-shaped sealing seat for the second spring-loaded closing body is formed in the closing body head.
- the closing body head has a sealing surface with respect to a wall. This will For example, the technical advantage achieved that a particularly reliable seal is made possible by the sealing surface.
- a plurality of axial guides are provided on the first closing body.
- the secondary fluid path runs through the first closing body.
- Fig. 1 shows a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the pressure-holding valve assembly 100.
- the pressure-holding valve assembly 100 is connected to a fuel line 101, runs through the unburned fuel from an internal combustion engine, not shown, in a fuel circuit. This fuel line 101 is also called leak oil line for this reason.
- the pressure holding valve assembly 100 serves to maintain a pressure in the fuel line 101.
- the pressure holding valve assembly 100 is adapted to keep the pressure in the return from an internal combustion engine with piezo injectors in a common rail system constant, so that the function of the piezo injectors is maintained and pressure fluctuations are prevented at the injection nozzles.
- a common rail system refers to a diesel direct-injection internal combustion engine, in which all cylinders are located on a common distribution line for the fuel. In this distribution line, a permanently high pressure is generated, the fuel stored and distributed to the regulated injection nozzles.
- the advantages of the common rail system are better mixture formation in the cylinders, lower fuel consumption and lower emissions.
- the pressure holding valve arrangement 100 comprises a fluid main section 103 through which the fuel flows in the direction of the arrow when a predetermined pressure is exceeded.
- the fuel line can be closed by means of a closing member 105 loaded with a helical compression spring 115 to maintain a fuel pressure. If the pressure in the fuel line 101 exceeds a set value, the closing body 105 moves axially to the side and clears the path for the fuel located in the fuel line 101 so that it can flow out of the fuel line 101. The pressure in the fuel line 101 is reduced until the desired value is reached again.
- the spring-loaded closing body 105 thus serves to maintain and stabilize the pressure in the fuel line 101.
- the rotationally symmetrical closing body 105 has a closing body head 107 and a cylindrical shaft 113 against which the spring 115 rests.
- the spring 115 exerts a force on the closing body head 107, which presses it into the sealing seat 117.
- the closing body head 107 of the closing body 105 serves to close the fluid main section 103.
- the fuel pressure required to open the fluid main section 103 is determined by the spring constant and the prestressing of the spring 115.
- the sealing seat 117 has a cup-shaped recess, on the side wall of the closing body head 107 rests in the closed state.
- the pressure-retaining valve arrangement 100 comprises a fluid secondary section 109, which is formed to fill the fuel line 101 with fuel in the spring-loaded closing body 105.
- a fluid secondary section 109 which is formed to fill the fuel line 101 with fuel in the spring-loaded closing body 105.
- To close the fluid by-pass serves a ball 111 as a further closing body.
- the ball 111 In a movement of the larger closing body 105 due to an overpressure in the fuel line 101, the ball 111 is held both by the pressure of the fuel and by a spring 119 in a funnel-shaped recess within the closing body 105. The fuel flows around the closing body 105 in this case.
- the first or refilling with fuel takes place in a filling direction, which is opposite to the arrow direction, which indicates the main flow direction of the fuel during operation of the internal combustion engine.
- the fuel acts as a fluid with a pressure on the closing body 105 in the fluid main section 103 and thus seals off the passage.
- the fuel acts with the same pressure on the ball 111 and opens the fluid secondary section 109. If the pressure exceeds a predetermined pressure, such as an opening pressure of 0.6 bar, the filling of the fuel line 101 takes place.
- the pressure required to open the fluid by-pass 109 is determined by the spring 119.
- the pressure-retaining valve arrangement 100 thus comprises two fluidically arranged valves, one of which opens in the direction of the fuel line 101 and the other opens in the direction of a supply line, so that two directions of flow can be realized at different pressures.
- the pressure holding valve assembly 100 is formed by recesses in the two mold parts 121 and 123.
- the two mold parts 121 and 123 have, for example, a cylindrical shape, in the middle of which there is a recess for receiving the springs 115 and 119 and the closing bodies 105 and 111.
- the pressure holding valve arrangement 100 is therefore formed by the interaction of the two mold parts 121 and 123.
- the molded part 121 comprises a recess for the sealing seat 117 of the closing body 105.
- the molded part 123 comprises a cylindrical recess for the spring 115.
- springs 115 and 119 coil springs can be used, which are wound from spring wire cylindrical, conical or barrel-shaped.
- the wire cross-section of the springs is subjected to torsion under load.
- the spring constant is determined by the properties of the spring wire used.
- the spring characteristic and the spring constant can be adapted by ranges of variable wire diameter, variable pitch or varying spring diameter, such as in a frusto-conical coil spring.
- the two mold parts 121 and 123 may have any other shape and be interconnected in any manner, such as being welded together.
- a one-piece molding can also be used.
- the two mold parts 121 and 123 are arranged in two housing parts 125 and 127 which completely surround them and have connections for the fuel line 101 and the supply line.
- the two housing parts 125 and 127 may be screwed together.
- one of the housing parts 125 comprise a male thread, not shown, and the other of the housing parts 127 comprise an internal thread which can be rotated into one another.
- a circumferential seal 129 is arranged, which prevents fuel from the interior of the pressure retaining valve assembly 100 passes to the outside.
- each of the molded part 121 and the housing part 127 and between the molded part 123 and the housing part 125 further seals 131 and 133, such as sealing rings, arranged, which also prevent the escape of fuel.
- the two housing parts 125 and 127 may have any other suitable shape and be interconnected in any manner, such as being welded together.
- the housing of the pressure-holding valve arrangement 100 has two connections which serve to connect the pressure-retaining valve arrangement 100 to the fuel line 101, so that the fuel can flow through the pressure-retaining valve arrangement 100 in the presence of an overpressure.
- the mold members 121 and 123 and the housing members 125 and 127 may be formed in other ways.
- the mold parts 121 and 123 may be fused to the housing parts 125 and 127 so that they form a single coherent component.
- the mold parts 121 and 123 and the housing parts 125th and 127 may be injection molded from suitable thermoplastics. Particularly advantageous is the use of fiber-reinforced plastics, since they have a particularly high strength and pressure resistance.
- Fig. 2 shows a side view of the closing body 105.
- the closing body 105 has a cylindrical shaft 113, at the end of the closing body head 107 is formed.
- a sealing surface 203 is formed, which rests against a wall in the closed state of the fluid main section 103 and thus blocks the fluid main section 103.
- the sealing surface 203 may be provided with a sealing material.
- the closing body 105 comprises along its surface eight guide blades 201 and 207, which channel the fuel when flowing past.
- segment-shaped recesses 209 are formed between the guide plates 201 and 207.
- the closing body 105 may also have a different number of guide blades 201 and 207.
- Fig. 3 shows a cross-sectional view of the closing body 105.
- the cross-sectional view extends through two of the guide plates 201 and 207.
- a cylindrical channel which forms the fluid secondary section 109.
- a funnel-shaped recess 205 which is connected to the cylindrical channel and serves to receive the ball 111.
- the recess 205 may be lined with a sealing material.
- the funnel-shaped recess 205 has the advantage that the ball 111 is self-centered in this and so a good seal of the fluid secondary section 109 is achieved.
- the recess 205 may have a different shape, such as cup-shaped.
- the sealing surface 203 is bulged on the rest of the closing body head 107, so that they can effectively close the fluid main section 103.
- a not-shown filter element or a sieve may be arranged in the channel of the fluid sub-section 109, which serves to clean the fuel when filling the fuel line 101.
- Fig. 4 shows a perspective view of the closing body 105 with the guide blades 201 and 207 and the funnel-shaped recess 205.
- the closing body 105 may for example, be made of thermoplastic material by injection molding. In general, however, all other materials that are suitable for the production of the closing body can also be used.
- the shape of the closing body 105 used may differ from that shown in the figures.
- pressure holding valve assemblies described and illustrated are generally applicable to a fuel injector of an internal combustion engine or to control the flow of other fluids.

Description

-
Fig. 3 zeigt eine Querschnittsansicht des Schließkörpers 105.
