  • the supporting arm need not be straight, extending directly from the shaft to the frame, but could be angled, e.g., L-shaped. If the supporting arm is angled, it will not be vertically oriented when the centre of gravity of the roll is aligned with the point of attachment of the supporting arm to the frame. Still, if the supporting arm is attached to the shaft of the roller, an imaginary line extending from the attachment to the shaft to the attachment to the frame will be vertical when the roll is fixed in the position in which the centre of gravity of the roller is aligned with the point of attachment to the frame.
