Sobald die erste Flanke 12 gegen den Anschlag 32 fährt, entsteht für den Benutzer ein merklicher Widerstand. Dieser ist umso größer, je kleiner der Flankenwinkel α1 ist. Im weiteren Einschiebeverlauf des Gargutträgers 10 in das Gargerät 1 läuft der Zwischenabschnitt 26 und die zweite Flanke 24 über den Anschlag 32. Ein weiteres Ausziehen des Gargutträgers 10 ist nur mit erhöhtem Kraftaufwand möglich. Dieser Kraftaufwand bestimmt sich durch den zweiten Flankenwinkel α2.
