- A packaging plant (100) including a sealing station (1) according to one of the preceding claims.
- A method of operating a sealing station (1), comprising the following steps:- conveying a first row (14) of packaging trays (3) in a first plane by means of a bar chain (12) into a sealing tool (6),- accommodating the first row (14) of packaging trays (3) on at least one lowerable supporting disc (16),- lowering the first row (14) of packaging trays (3) from the first plane to a second plane (19) extending on a lower level by lowering the at least one lowerable supporting disc (16),- conveying a second row (15) of packaging trays (3) into the sealing tool (6), said second row (15) being accommodated on a further supporting disc (18),- lifting the first row (14) of packaging trays (3) from the second plane (19) to the first plane,- sealing the first row and second rows (14, 15) of packaging trays (3) with a cover film (2).
- A method according to claim 10, characterized in that the bar chain (12) is moved temporarily in a direction opposite to a conveying direction R of the packaging trays (3) so as to allow lowering of the lowerable supporting disc (16).
