Description

The invention relates to a garden shredder according to the preamble of claim 1.

Corresponding garden shredders (simplified in the following also shredders) have long been known. All shredders have a feed channel, which is loaded via an insertion with garden waste. About a chopper, the waste is crushed, and ejected through an ejection channel with a discharge opening. Such a garden shredder is out DE 311 8518 known.

With regard to the design of the ejection opening, there is a conflict of objectives. On the one hand, this must be sufficiently large so that it does not become clogged by the material being fed. On the other hand, it must not be so large that a person can get into the area of the chaffing device by hand.

For this purpose, it has been proposed in the past to extend the discharge channel accordingly, but this does not prevent the risk of blockages. Once the chute is blocked, it can hardly be cleared by hand, because if the channels are too long, the hand can not reach all the way to the cutting unit.

On the other hand, it has been proposed to grill the ejection opening while simultaneously shortening the ejection channel. However, the grid is then an obstacle, which in turn favors the blockage. Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a garden shredder of the type mentioned, which has the shortest possible discharge channel and still further reduces the risk of blockages.

This object is achieved by a garden shredder with the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments can be found in the subclaims.

According to the invention, the garden shredder has a specially designed ejection section at the end of the ejection channel. There are provided for this purpose in the region of the ejection section spaced apart projections. These projections extend from one or the wall of the ejection section over part of the width of the ejection opening. The protrusions thus protrude into the ejection opening, and do not completely span the opening, so that a plurality of fingers of a hand with the protrusions therebetween can extend into the ejection channel without running the risk of coming into contact with this knife disk.

It is preferably provided that the projections are designed so that between two adjacent projections a VDE test finger can be added. Thus, it can be ensured in particular that the shortest distance, measured in the chain dimension, between the chopping device, in particular the outer edge of the cutter disk, and the edge of the ejection opening is greater than 80 mm. Due to the finite thickness of the VDE test finger, the chain dimension can even be slightly below 80 mm. This can be guaranteed that no finger comes into contact with the cutting mechanism even when reaching into the discharge chute. The length of the discharge channel can be minimized.

The ejection section may be angled against at least one wall opposite to the rest of the ejection channel, so that the ejection is done downwards and thereby persons in the environment are not endangered.

The projections may have different geometric features to improve the flow of material in the direction of ejection, which may be cumulative or provided individually. Thus, it is provided that the projections taper in the ejection direction. So they form a guide of the material to be ejected and the resistance decreases in the direction of the ejection opening. In particular, it can also be provided that the projections have rounded edges on their sides facing the incoming chopped material. Further, recesses with a curved surface may be provided between adjacent protrusions. The curvature is preferably concave, so that on the one hand, the gaps and thus the available ejection opening are maximized. Further, rounding significantly reduces the friction between the material and the discharge chute over sharp edges.

Finally, the projections may have substantially oblique surfaces extending in the direction of ejection. These inclined surfaces, which can still taper towards the ejection opening, provide a guide of the incoming material, so that in this way by the protrusions on the incoming chopped material can be reduced resistance.

The invention will be described below with reference to the FIGS. 1 to 3 shown embodiment explained in more detail.
  • FIG. 1 shows a perspective sectional view through the garden shredder according to the invention from a first side.
  • FIG. 2 shows a side sectional view through the garden shredder according to the invention.
  • FIG. 3 shows a perspective sectional view through the garden shredder according to the invention from a second side.

The in the FIGS. 1 to 3 shown garden shredder has a housing 3, which is bounded by the front wall 3a shown here, the rear wall 3c and the top 3b. In the upper side 3b, an insertion opening 1 is provided, which is adjoined by the feed channel 2 serving as a feed chute, through which material to be chopped can be introduced. This feed chute 2 leads to the chopping device, which comprises a motor 4, which in turn drives a cutter disk 5. The knife disk 5 has knives 7, which cooperate with a fixed counter knife 6 in the region of a shearing point 8. The fed through the feed chute 2 material is crushed and then enters the room 9 on the side facing away from the feed chute 2 of the cutter disk 5 and from there into the obliquely downward in the drawing, in the direction of ejection X extending ejection channel 10. The discharge channel 10 is preferably oriented so that the direction of at least one component in the direction of the bottom (not shown), on which the shredder is. This ensures that the ejection of the material to be ejected is supported by gravity.

The discharge channel 10 opens into an ejection opening 12 which is part of an ejection section 11 provided at the end of the ejection channel 10. In the example shown, this section 11 is opposite the remaining discharge channel 10, which essentially extends in the ejection direction X (cf. FIG. 2 ), angled, so that the ejection opening 12 is parallel to the insertion opening 1 or points substantially in the direction of the ground. In the ejection opening 12, or in the interior of the ejection section 11 protrude projections 13a, 13b, 13c (also referred to in their entirety with 13) into it, thus closing a part of the ejection opening 12, so that only a few fingers in the recesses between adjacent projections 13a, 1b, 13c, but not the palm of a hand in the discharge channel 10 can go into it. The measured in the chain dimension shortest distance between the outer edge of the cutter disk 5 and the ejection opening 12 can be minimized so to the provided by the VDE test finger minimum length of 80 mm or due to the finite thickness of the VDE test finger slightly below. The spaces between the projections are chosen so that the VDE test finger can be passed through these spaces.

The projections 13 adjoin a continuous section 10a of the ejection channel 10 and have on their tops at least in sections the same gradient as the section 10a of the ejection channel 10. Further, the oblique surfaces of the projections thus extending substantially in the direction of ejection X are rounded at their sides, so that a sticking of material to sharp edges is avoided. Further, the projections 13 are tapered in the direction X and the opening 12. In addition, in order to reduce the frictional resistance between the material to be ejected, the transitions between the protrusions 13 protruding from the wall 11a of the ejection portion 11 and the wall 11a and the recesses in the spaces may be rounded. In particular, the recesses in the spaces between adjacent projections can be arched, in particular concavely arched.
