Description
The invention relates to a washing or cleaning agent comprising a biocidal quaternary ammonium compound. The invention also relates to the use and a method for producing such a washing or cleaning agent.
The adhesion of microorganisms to surfaces is undesirable, especially in pathogenic microorganisms. Adherent microorganisms often lead to infections or reinfection in humans, animals and plants.
Increasingly, delicate textiles, such as silk or microfiber, are processed into garments that can only be washed at 30 or 40 ° C. As a result, microorganisms are not killed safely.
In addition to the lower washing temperature, however, the use of liquid detergents which are generally free of bleaching agents is customary today. In a 60 ° C wash, as was the rule in the past, almost all germs were reliably destroyed, on the one hand by the higher temperature, and on the other by the bleach contained in the commonly used universal detergents.
Thus, by the changed washing behavior with viruses, bacteria or contaminated textiles can not be sterilized to the required extent, so that under certain circumstances, a (re) infection can be done on renewed contact of the consumer with the supposedly pure laundry.
In addition, problems with bad odors can occur because residual germs multiply when drying, carrying or storing on the laundry and produce bad-smelling metabolites. In addition, inside a washing machine itself can be caused by adhering biofilms a bad smell.

The washing or cleaning agent necessarily contains a biocidal quaternary ammonium compound, a potassium salt, an alkoxylated oxo alcohol and further an amine oxide.
As an essential ingredient, the liquid detergent or cleaning agent contains a biocidal quaternary ammonium compound. The suitable as biocidal agents quaternary ammonium compounds (QAC) have the general formula (R 1 ) (R 2 ) (R 3 ) (R 4 ) N + X - , in which R 1 to R 4 identical or different C 1 -C 22 -alkyl radicals, C 7 -C 28 -aralkyl radicals or heterocyclic radicals, where two or, in the case of an aromatic inclusion as in pyridine, even three radicals together with the nitrogen atom form the heterocycle, for example a pyridinium or imidazolinium compound, and Halide ions, sulfate ions, hydroxide ions or similar anions.
Amine, die über drei lange Alkyl-Reste oder Hydroxy-substituierte Alkyl-Reste verfügen, sind wenig reaktiv und werden bevorzugt mit Dimethylsulfat quaterniert.QACs can be prepared by reacting tertiary amines with alkylating agents, such as, for example, methyl chloride, benzyl chloride, dimethyl sulfate, dodecyl bromide, but also ethylene oxide. The alkylation of tertiary amines with a long alkyl radical and two methyl groups succeeds particularly easily, and the quaternization of tertiary amines with two long radicals and one methyl group can be carried out with the aid of methyl chloride under mild conditions. Amines having three long alkyl radicals or hydroxy-substituted alkyl radicals are less reactive and are preferably quaternized with dimethyl sulfate.

Particularly preferred QACs are dialkyldimethylammonium chlorides, in particular didecyldimethylammonium chloride, N-octadecyl-N, N, N-trimethylammonium chloride, N-hexadecyl-N, N, N-trimethylammonium chloride and the benzalkonium chlorides having C 8 -C 18 -alkyl radicals, in particular C 12 -C 14 alkylbenzyl dimethyl ammonium chloride. Another preferred biocidal compound is methyl N- (2-hydroxyethyl) -N, N-di (caprocyloxyethyl) ammonium methosulfate. Another preferred ingredient is boric acid or a salt of boric acid. If the liquid washing or cleaning agent contains a salt of boric acid, it is particularly preferred that it be the kaluim salt, ie potassium borate. The addition of boric acid or a salt of boric acid leads to an increase in the antimicrobial performance of the liquid detergent or cleaning agent. In particular, the antimicrobial performance against fungi is increased, with a particular performance increase over Candida albicans can be observed.
The washing or cleaning agents according to the invention preferably contain water as the main solvent.
The preparation of a washing or cleaning agent according to the invention is carried out by means of customary and known methods and processes. Thus, for example, the ingredients of the detergents, cleaners can be simply mixed in stirred tanks, wherein water, the acidic components, if any, such as citric acid, boric acid, phosphonic acid, etc., and the alkoxylated oxo alcohols are conveniently presented. The nonaqueous solvents, if present, are preferably also added at this time, but the addition may be made at a later time. Subsequently, the acidic components are neutralized with KOH and the biocidal quaternary ammonium compound is added. Then the further ingredients are preferably added in portions. If the washing or cleaning agent additionally contains a thickener, this is dissolved in water at the very beginning of the process and then preswollen, and then the acidic components and the alkoxylated oxo alcohols are then added to this mixture.
PT = Phasentrennung
S = stabil
* Wässrige Formulierung aus Tetramethylolglycoluril, 2-Methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-on und 2-Octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-on (ca. 15 Gew.-% Aktivstoffe)
PT = phase separation
S = stable
* Aqueous formulation of tetramethylolglycoluril, 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (about 15% by weight of active ingredients)
The results clearly show that only when using an alkoxylated oxo-alcohol in combination with KOH as base stable liquid detergents or cleaning agents with antimicrobial effect are obtained. By adding an amine oxide, the liquid matrix can be stabilized such that additionally an alkoxylated fatty alcohol can be present in the liquid matrix.
By means of disinfectant tests based on EN 1276 and EN 1650, the fungicidal and bactericidal action of the washing and cleaning agents E1 and E2 according to the invention was determined.
The bactericidal activity of washing or cleaning agents E1 and E2 was determined against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the fungicidal activity against Candida albicans . Under the conditions tested (concentration of the agent 0.5 and 1% by weight, contact time: 60 minutes, temperature: 20 ° C) a reduction in the bacterial efficacy was at least a factor of 10 5 and the fungicidal test effectiveness factor of at least 10 4 observed.
