Description

The invention relates to a brush assembly with a rotatably driven brush holder and a ring brush with a bristle ring with outwardly projecting bristles, and with a dipping into the rotating bristle ring stop means, wherein with the aid of the stop means, the bristles are braked for a certain time, so that after their release the kinetic energy stored thereby is used for additional beating processing of a surface of a material by the bristles.

In a brush assembly of the structure described above according to the EP 1 834 733 B1 The procedure is such that the bristles are braked for a certain time with the aid of the stop means. After release of the bristles by passing the stop means, the kinetic energy stored thereby, that is to say the bristles and / or a brush belt, can be utilized. This serves for additionally beating processing of a surface of a material by means of the bristles. As a result, comparable effects are achieved, as is observed in so-called sandblasting. However, the above-described doctrine without blasting, so that the equipment cost is significantly reduced, environmental pollution can be avoided and can be worked very cost effective and efficient. That has proven itself.

In addition, by the EP 1 591 037 A2 a brush unit without stop means has become known, which is equipped with an abrasive body. The grinding wheel can be used against the ring brush or against the bristles attached thereto, on its rear side seen in the working direction. In this way, there is a back grinding of the bristles, with the help of which blunt bristle tips can be reground. This makes it easy to set and maintain the desired roughness on a surface to be machined. This prior art has proven itself in principle.

In a rotary brush tool according to the EP 1 834 733 B1 With stop means, it is now desirable to additionally attach a grinding wheel, as in the EP 1 591 037 A2 to combine the positive effects of the stopping means with the possibility of regrinding the bristles. However, this results in a relatively expansive and impractical structure. This is where the invention starts.

The invention is based on the technical problem of further developing such a brushing unit so that, in addition, the possibility of grinding the bristles is created, namely with a structurally simple and cost-effective construction.

To solve this technical problem, a generic brush assembly is characterized in the invention in that the stop means is also designed as an abrasive body for the bristles, wherein between the two functions, that is between the stopper function and the Schleiffunktion, in accordance with a direction of rotation of the ring brush and / or a positioning position of the stop means in comparison to the bristle rim is distinguished.

In the context of the invention, therefore, in addition to the obligatory stopping means, initially no additional grinding body is used, but rather the stopping means is designed as an abrasive body for the bristles. The stop means assumes essentially the same function as in the EP 1 834 733 B1 has been described. Because with the help of the stop means braked the bristles for a certain time, so that after their release (from the stop means), the kinetic energy stored thereby for additional beating processing of a surface of a material is used by the bristles.

In addition to this as it were stopper function, the stop means also takes over a Schleiffunktion. As part of this grinding function, the bristles undergo a grinding process. This is usually - but not limiting - so that the bristles learn on their seen in the working direction back with the help of the grinding wheel or the stop means a back-grinding processing. In fact, in the context of the invention, the stop means is advantageously designed such that different surface areas of the stop means are responsible for the various functions described.

That is, the surface of the stopper mainly has a stopper portion and a grinding portion. In this case, the grinding area can be designed or formed so that it reliably exerts its abrasive function by applied to the stopper abrasive particles of, for example, diamond, corundum or similar abrasive. Of course, the grinding area can also be defined on or on the stop means that the stop means in the grinding area is roughened especially or undergoes a special surface treatment. In any case, the grinding area is designed so that it is particularly suitable for grinding the bristles and here mostly the bristle tips. The invention is based on the recognition that the bristles and in particular the bristle tips after a certain processing time "dull" and must be "sharpened" again.

For this purpose, according to the invention, the grinding area of the stop means is available. In this case, one will usually proceed in such a way that the bristles in the region of their bristle tip, with the aid of the grinding region on the stop means, undergo a back-grinding process. This back grinding treatment takes into account the fact that the removal of material at the bristle tip is reduced to a minimum and yet a desired tip formation is achievable. In this case, the invention is based on the fact that the respective bristles or their bristle tips on its leading edge by the impact treatment of the surface of the material compared to the trailing edge are already more worn. Now, if the trailing edge undergoes the described grinding machining, so the invention takes this circumstance particularly into account. The processing of the trailing edge means nothing else than that the bristles (at their bristle tip) on their seen in the working direction backside undergo the described looping with the aid of the grinding area of the stop means.

In order to be able to distinguish between the described stopper function and the grinding function or to achieve that the bristles interact on the one hand with the stopper region and on the other hand with the grinding region of the stop means, two different approaches are conceivable and are encompassed by the invention. First of all, a distinction can be made between these two functions, ie the stopper function and the grinding function, in that the ring brush changes its direction of rotation. In fact, the ring brush can rotate in a substantially clockwise or counterclockwise direction. The respective direction of rotation now corresponds on the one hand to the stopper function and on the other hand to the grinding function of the stop means. For example, the rotation of the ring brush may be counterclockwise to the stopper function. In contrast, a clockwise rotation of the ring brush causes the stop means to take over its grinding function. In this case, you will always place the stopper so that it dips into the rotating crown of bristles. In this case, the stop means may be designed stationary.

It is alternatively or additionally also conceivable that the stop means is adjusted or is designed adjustable in comparison to the bristle rim. The adjustment can basically be done during its stopper function and also during its Schleiffunktion. In addition, the adjustment of the stop means of course in a period between these two functions is conceivable and is encompassed by the invention. In most cases, however, the design will be such that different positioning positions of the stop means in comparison to the bristle rim belong to the described two functions.

So you will usually choose the stopper function of the stop means so that the stop means is immersed with its entire cross section in the bristle rim. As a result, the stopper area defined on the surface of the stop means corresponds to nearly half or more than half of said surface. If, on the other hand, the stopping means assumes the grinding function, then the stopping means only partially penetrates the bristle rim with its cross section. In most cases, the bristles slide more or less tangentially along the grinding area when taking on the grinding function of the stopping means. Thereby, the grinding area may be formed relatively small on the surface of the stop means and typically occupies about 10% to 50% of the surface, whereas the stopper area corresponds to about 30% to 80% of the surface of the stop means.

Of course, can be done to distinguish between on the one hand the stopper function and on the other hand, the Schleiffunktion a combination of both measures. In this case, so when changing from example The stopper function for the Schleussunktion (and vice versa) not only changed the direction of rotation of the ring brush, but also the position of the stop means. This is preferably done. That is, when changing from the stopper function to the Schleussunktion the ring brush is stopped in the example case with respect to the original rotation in the counterclockwise direction and operated in the reverse direction clockwise in order to represent the Schleufunktion.

At the same time this reversal of rotation is associated with the fact that the stop means from the bristle rim emerges so far that the bristles in the subsequent Schleussunktion the grinding area as it were tangentially, as already described in the introduction. The advantageously compared to the bristle rim adjustable trained stop means can usually be adjusted radially and / or tangentially. Very particular preference is an eccentric adjustment of the stop means.

Thereby, and independently of this, it is possible to adjust the stopping means of the driven bristles. That is, the adjustment of the stop means is not carried out with an external additional drive, but by the fact that the bristles themselves provide for the adjustment of the stop means. In most cases, the design is such that when changing from the stopper function to the sanding function and vice versa, the direction of rotation of the ring brush is changed. The reversal of the direction of rotation also causes the stop means to be adjusted. For this purpose, the stop means is advantageously connected to a boom which is pivotally articulated to a machine housing. The boom is usually an eccentric boom.

Dabei dient ein Anschlag zur Einnahme derIn addition, the boom has at least two stops or it is associated with two stops. It serves a stop for taking the

Stopper function and another stop for taking the Schleufunktion. The rotation reversal of the ring brush, which accompanies the change in function, thus results in the bristles acting on the stop means displacing the stop means. The adjusting movement is maintained until the stop means assumes its functional position associated with the direction of rotation, either the stopper function or the grinding function. Consequently, the two stops associated with the boom are designed as a stopper stop on the one hand and a grinding stop on the other hand.

The invention also relates to a rotary brush tool, which is equipped with a machine housing and a drive unit for the brush unit described. In addition, a method for processing a surface of a material by means of the described brush assembly is included.

As a result, a brush assembly, an associated rotary brush tool and a method for processing a surface of a material using the brush assembly are described, with the help of a simple and durable machining of the surface succeeds. At the same time, comparable roughness depths are achieved and observed, as they are also possible during (sand) blasting and can be realized. However, expensive drive devices are eliminated and, in particular, no blasting agent has to be disposed of. At the same time, particularly long service lives are observed because the bristles can be reground. All this is possible with the help of the stop means, which fills a double function, namely the described stopper function and wiper function. Here are the main benefits.

In the following the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to a drawing showing only one exemplary embodiment; show it:

In the Fig. 1 a rotary brush tool is shown, which is equipped with a machine housing 1 and a merely indicated and received therein drive unit 2 for a brush unit 3. The brush assembly 3 has a ring brush 4, 5, which is composed in the embodiment and not limiting of a brush belt 4 and attached thereto and outwardly projecting bristles 5.

Fig. 2). It can be seen that the bristles 5 extend radially in comparison to a center of rotation or a rotation axis 6 and rise substantially perpendicularly on a surface of the ring brush 4, 5 or a surface of the brush belt 4. The bristles 5 are U-shaped bristles 5 made of steel, which are inserted into merely indicated receiving bores 7 in the brush belt 4 and inserted therethrough (cf. Fig. 2 ). The bristles 5 form a bristle ring 8 with interruptions 9. Die Ring brush 4, 5 is supported by a rotationally driven by means of the drive unit 2 brush holder 10, 11. In fact, the brush holder 10, 11 is composed of two end plates 10, which are held by a spacer bush 11 in a spaced position to each other. In the present case, the spacer bushing 11 can also be dispensed with. Then takes over the brush belt 4 of the ring brush 4, 5, the function of the spacer bushing 11. Thus, worked in the context of the embodiment.

Based on Fig. 1 can be seen further that the two end plates 10 are equipped with axial webs 12, with which they overlap the ring brush 4, 5 and the brush belt 4 in the region of the interruptions 9. Both end plates 10 are braced against each other with the spacer bush between them, respectively, the brush belt 4, 11 including attached bristles 5. This ensures a secure hold of the ring brush 4, 5 on a drive pin 13 of the drive unit 2 of the rotary brush tool.

In the context of the example shown after Fig. 1 are three evenly distributed over the circumference of the brush belt 4 interruptions 9 realized. In addition, a dipping into the rotating bristle rim 8 stop means 14 is realized. The stop means 14 are not restrictive, for example, a cylindrical pin 14, which is connected via a boom 15 to the machine housing 1 of the rotary brush tool. The stop means 14 or the pin 14 is arranged parallel to the drive pin 13 of the drive unit 2 or parallel to the axis of rotation 6 on the boom 15 and connected to this example by screwing. The length of the stop means 14 is chosen so that it substantially corresponds to the width of the brush belt 4, consequently the stop means 14 axially or in comparison with the ring brush 4, 5 is not or only insignificantly.

In the context of the invention, the stop means 14 can assume two functions, namely a stopper function, as in the Fig. 2 is shown and also a Schleiffunktion, like the Fig. 3 shows. That is, the stop means 14 is at the same time designed as an abrasive body 14 for the bristles 5. For this purpose, the outer surface 16 of the stop means 14, which is designed as a cylinder jacket in the example, has two regions. In fact, on the one hand, a stopper region 16a and on the other hand a grinding region 16b are provided.

The outer surface 16 of the stop means 4 is thus composed of the stopper region 16a and the grinding region 16b, which complement each other more or less and generally form the outer surface 16 of the stop means 14 as a whole. In fact, the stopper region 16a occupies approximately 30% to 80% of the outer surface 16, whereas the abrasive region 16b occupies approximately 10% to 50% of the outer surface 16 of the stop means 14. In this case, the stopper region 16a and the grinding region 16b are arranged relative to one another in such a way that they do not overlap but rather join one another with or without a distance. As a result, the bristles 5 either interact only with the stopper region 16a or only with the grinding region 16b. For the first-mentioned interaction, the stopper function of the brushing unit 3 or of the rotary brushing tool as a whole, whereas the latter interaction corresponds to the Schleufunktion belongs. The stopper region 16a and / or the grinding region 16b can be integrally formed on the stop means 14 or additionally attached thereto. This can be achieved, for example, by screwing on sleeves or plates which define the stopper region 16a in question and / or the grinding region 16b.

If the brush unit 3 or the rotary brush tool its stopper function according to the Fig. 2 occupies and the associated functional position is present, the stop means 14 operates in principle as in the introductory already referred to EP 1 834 733 B1 has been described in detail. In this case, the stopping means 14 immersed in the rotating bristle rim 8, with its entire cross section, a. Based on Fig. 2 it can be seen that the stopper function corresponds to a counterclockwise rotation of the ring brush 4, 5 about the axis of rotation 6. As a result, the bristles 5 are decelerated in the region of the stop means 14 for a certain time. If the bristles 5 become free of the stop means 14, the kinetic energy stored by the bristles 5 and / or the brush belt 4 is utilized by the bristles 5 for the additionally beating processing of a surface of a material 19.

In the example case, the bristles 5 have in their direction of rotation R indicated by an arrow in the counterclockwise direction Fig. 2 over leading beveled bristle tips 5 '. Of course this is not mandatory. Once the bristles 5 have reached the stopping means 14, the brush belt 4 primarily undergoes deformation. Because the usually perpendicular to the brush belt 4 upstanding bristles 5 are forced into an acute-angled position compared to the surface of the brush belt 4. From a certain acute angle, the bristle tips 5 'of the stop means 14 can not be retained, so that the bristles snap back 5 and in this process, the bristle tips 5' in the Fig. 2 Described circular arc 20 describe which deviates from the outer surface 17 of the bristle rim 8 and the associated circular arc. In the relevant figure, one also recognizes a protective cover 18 for the entire brushing unit 3.

In addition to this stopper function after Fig. 2 However, the stop means 14 can also be a Schleiffunktion according to the illustration Fig. 3 fill out. The Abrasive function corresponds in contrast to the stopper function Fig. 2 to that the ring brush 4, 5 now rotates clockwise. This is again made clear by the arrow with the direction of rotation R. The change from the stopper function to the Schleiffunktion and vice versa thus corresponds to a reversal of the rotating ring brush 4, 5. In addition to this direction of rotation reversal has the stop means 14 experienced an adjustment, such as a comparison of Fig. 2 and 3 makes it clear. In fact, in the Fig. 2 the stopper function belonging to the actuating position of the stop means 14 shown in solid, while belonging to the Schleypunktion actuating position undergoes a dash-dotted representation.

Fig. 2). In other words, a distinction is made between the two functions, that is, between the stopper function and the Schleussunktion the stop means 14 in accordance with the direction of rotation R of the ring brush 4, 5 and additionally a parking position of the stop means 14 in comparison to the bristle rim 8. It can be seen that in order to take the stopper function, the stopping means 14 with its entire cross section or its entire outer surface 16 dips into the bristle rim 8 (cf. Fig. 2 ). By contrast, the abrasive function corresponds to Fig. 3 in that the stop means 14 with its cross section or the outer surface 16 is only partially immersed in the bristle rim 8.

In fact, the stopping means 14 immersed in the abrasive function only with its grinding area 16b in the bristle rim 8. As a result, the bristles 5 or their bristle tips 5 'move more or less tangentially past the stop means 14 in the grinding function. In this way, the bristles 5 are sanded on their bristle tips 5 'on their rear side viewed in the working direction. Of course, this is only to be understood as an example, wherein the bristles 5 can in principle also be sanded to a greater length.

A comparison of Fig. 2 and 3 with the associated functional positions makes it clear that the stop means 14 is adjusted radially and / or tangentially. In fact, the stopping means 14 experiences an eccentric adjustment. For this purpose, the stop means 14 is connected to the boom 15, which in turn is pivotally hinged to the machine housing 1. The boom 15 is shown in the illustration after the Fig. 4 and 5 around an eccentric 15. This eccentric 15 is equipped with a bearing eye 21 which is penetrated by a bearing pin or a bearing plate 22 off-center. The bearing plate or the bearing pin 22 is connected to the machine housing 1. In contrast, the boom or eccentric arm 15 perform an eccentric pivoting movement, which in the Fig. 2 is indicated, if one compares the solid shown stopper function with the dash-dotted sanding function. Corresponding representations can be found in the Fig. 5 , Here, at the same time by arrows, the pivoting movement of the stop means or pin 14 is indicated. In each case, the solid position of the stop means or pin 14 corresponds to the stopper function, whereas the dash-dotted representation of the stop means 14 illustrates the Schleiffunktion and the associated functional position of the stop means 14.

For each of the two functions or functional positions, there is a stop 23, 24 which can be seen in the rear view of the jib 15 in accordance with FIG Fig. 5 can best recognize. The stopper 23 is formed as a stopper stopper 23, whereas the stopper 24 constitutes a grinding stopper 24. The stopper stop 23 ensures that the boom or eccentric arm 15 assumes the stopper function or the corresponding functional position. In contrast, the grinding stop 24 ensures that the stopping means 14 defines the grinding function or the corresponding functional position.

The change from the stopper function to the Schleussunktion and vice versa takes place in each case with the aid of the driven bristles 5. That is, the stop means 14 is adjusted by the driven bristles 5 and the driven ring brush 4, 5. This adjustment by means of the rotating ring brush 4, 5 and the approach against the stop means 14 approaching bristles 5 is carried out until the associated adjusting movement is limited either by the stopper stop 23 or by the grinding stop 24.

That is, the stopping means 14 is converted by the running against bristles 5 depending on the direction of rotation of the ring brush 4, 5 in the stopper function or the Schleiffunktion. The change from the stopper function to the sanding function and vice versa takes place in such a way that initially the direction of rotation of the ring brush 4, 5 is changed. The ring brush 4, 5 thus undergoes a reversal of direction. By changing the direction of rotation R of the ring brush 4, 5 and the stop means 14 is adjusted. Because the bristles 5 go against the stop means 14 and pivot it compared to the machine housing 1. This process is continued until the corresponding stop 23, 24 blocks further pivotal movement of the stop means 14.

Translated to the concrete example case, this means that within the scope of the stopper function after Fig. 2 the brush assembly 3, the ring brush 4, 5 rotates counterclockwise according to the direction of the arrow R. In this process, the bristles 5 against the stop means 14 and the stop means 14 is fixed via the boom 15 and the associated stopper stop 23 in the position shown in solid. The stop means 14 can thus take over and fill in the described stopper function, as already described.

Now go from the stopper function to Fig. 2 on the sanding function according to the Fig. 3 be switched, so it is only necessary to drive the ring brush 4, 5, taking into account a reversal of rotation not in a counterclockwise direction, but rather in a clockwise direction. That shows that Fig. 3 , As a result, the stop means 14 is acted upon by a clockwise force and pivoted relative to the machine housing 1. This process continues until the in the Fig. 2 indicated dot-dashed position is reached. This dot-dashed position is also entered in FIG. 5. The dot-dashed position after the Fig. 2 and 5 corresponds to the Schleiffunktion and is in the Fig. 3 shown in solid lines. Another pivotal movement of the stop means 15 via the setting position corresponding to Fig. 3 In addition, it is not possible because now the boom 15 abuts the grinding stop 24. In this position, the bristles 5 can now be "sharpened".

For in the abrasive function, the bristles 5 or their bristle tips 5 'slide more or less tangentially along the grinding area 16b of the outer surface 16 of the stop means 14, that in an enlarged view in FIG Fig. 3 will be shown. This grinding region 16b may have an abrasive coating or has been processed in such a way that the bristle tips 5 'undergo a back-grinding treatment on their rear side seen in the working direction or in the clockwise direction in the example case. After completion of the grinding work can be easily re-entered the stopper function. For this purpose, only the ring brush 4, 5 perform a new direction of rotation reversal.

As a result, the ring brush 4, 5 is again rotated in the counterclockwise direction, as the Fig. 2 represents. This reversal of rotation has the consequence that the running against the stop means 14 bristles 5, the stop means 14 with apply a force counterclockwise. As a result, the stopper 14 becomes in accordance with its solid position Fig. 3 or the dot-dashed position in the Fig. 2 in the solid line position after Fig. 2 transferred. This happens until the boom 15 reaches the stopper stop 23. The stopper stop 23 prevents further movements of the boom 15 in the same direction.

Not explicitly shown is the possibility of the protective cover 18 and / or the boom 15 with the stop means 14 adjustably connected to the machine housing 1. In fact, the protective cover 18 and / or the boom 15 may be equipped with fasteners which allow a different and detachable fixing to the machine housing 1. In this context, the protective cover 18 and / or the boom 15 and / or the ring brush 4, 5 are designed to be stretchable and fixed in different plug positions.
