Die Erfindung beruht auf dem Grundgedanken, die Schaltwippe nicht mit einer festen Lagerung im Gehäuse anzuordnen, sondern zwei verschiedene Achsen zu verwenden, um die die Schaltwippe in Abhängigkeit von ihrer Betätigungsrichtung geschwenkt wird. Auf diese Weise ergibt sich ein geringer Platzbedarf. Außerdem entfällt die Notwendigkeit, die Schaltwippe an einer definierten Lagerung im Gehäuse anzubringen; sie muss lediglich eingesetzt werden. Die Betätigungskontur, die beispielsweise durch eine Rampe gebildet sein kann, ermöglicht es dabei, eine Übersetzung auszubilden, mit der ein von der Taste ausgeübter Betätigungshub in einen größeren Schalthub übersetzt wird. Außerdem kann durch die Geometrie der Betätigungskontur die Schalthaptik in der gewünschten Weise eingestellt werden. Wenn die Taste durch beispielsweise gewaltsames Betätigen weiter gedrückt wird, als dies konstruktiv vorgesehen ist und der Lebensdauer der Mikroschalter zuträglich ist, führt dies zu keiner stärkeren Betätigung der Schaltwippe.
