Um bei einer Heizvorrichtung für Festbrennstoffe mit Brennraum (20) und Nachbrennkammer (21) eine optimale Verbrennung mit optimal niedrigem Feinstaubgehalt zu erzielen, wird der Primärabzug (1) der Rauchgase (14) von dem Brennraum (20) in die Nachbrennkammer (21) auf die spezifischen Gegebenheiten der jeweiligen Verbrennungssituation angepasst, entweder durch Wahl der passenden Form der Hohlkörper (2), aus denen der Primärabzug besteht, und/oder durch spezifische Anpassung und Einstellung einer Steuerplatte (8) am hinteren Ende der Hohlkörper (2) des Primärabzuges (1), durch die die Strömungsverhältnisse in und nach dem Primärabzug (1) und insbesondere die Bildung von Kehrwirbeln (19) der hindurchströmenden Gase auf die spezifische Situation hin eingestellt wird.
