Verfahren zum Herstellen eines Profils aus einem Blechband (1), bei dem - das Blechband (1) in einer ersten Stufe zumindest zweifach umgebogen wird, so dass, im Querschnitt des Blechbandes (1) gesehen, ein Mittelabschnitt (10) sowie zwei Flankenabschnitte (13, 14) gebildet werden, welche von zwei gegenüberliegenden Endbereichen (23, 24) des Mittelabschnitts (10) winklig abstehen, und - in einer an die erste Stufe anschliessenden zweiten Stufe der Mittelabschnitt (10) mittels zweier komplementärer Walzenanordnungen (43, 44), die an den beiden gegenüberliegenden Endbereichen (23 bzw. 24) des Mittelabschnitts (10) angreifen, gestaucht wird und dabei das Blechband (1) lokal aufgedickt wird.
