Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention refers to a paint booth designed to make repairs to elements that are hard to reach and hard to paint in conventional paint booths.
  • The paint booth object of the present invention has a movable chassis which supports a platform with vertical movement capacity in order to access areas of the element to be painted at different heights as well as horizontal movement capacity which allows to project the platform towards the element to be painted, all of that being actuated through actuation means located in the booth.
  • Furthermore, the booth has a configuration that incorporates a vacuum system which is the one in charge of vacuuming residual paint clouds, which are filtered in several stages by a set of retaining filters and a bed of activated charcoal, with the clean air being finally evacuated inside the booth where the element being painted is located, with health and safety conditions in accordance with labour and environmental legislation.
  • On the other hand, the booth incorporates a plenum space to provide clean air placed in front of the vacuum system, in order to carry out additional air provisions if they were required.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • There are paint booths known in the state of the art that allow to undertake small and medium sized paint jobs for vehicle repairs, among which the conventional oven paint booth stands out, in which the vehicle is introduced and has mobile equipment that approaches said vehicle and vacuums the contaminated air that is generated in the area, filters the paint and retains the solvents returning the clean air to the work place.
  • There are times when these conventional paint booths do not allow undertaking paint jobs in vehicles that have complex mobility, due to these vehicles not being able to be moved to said conventional booths or having large dimensions that make it difficult or non-feasible to introduce them therein.
  • The present invention solves all the above mentioned disadvantages associated with conventional paint booths that do not allow undertaking small and medium repairs to elements presenting complex mobility.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention refers to a paint booth designed for small and medium repairs to elements that are hard to paint, due to their complex mobility, in conventional paint booths, which requires their treatment in an open space with precarious conditions, with risks to the health of operators and environmental degradation among other risks. This happens frequently in the railroad industry, large machinery for civil works, mining, marine, aviation, etc.
  • The paint booth of the present invention comprises a movable chassis that supports a paint platform where the user undertakes the painting tasks, some first means that carry out the vertical movement of the platform for the user to access areas of the element to be painted at different heights.
  • The booth further comprises some second means that carry out the horizontal movement of the platform for its projection towards the element to be painted, so that it allows the user to have access to hard to reach areas in elements that cannot be introduced in a conventional paint booth.
  • The first and second means of vertical and horizontal movement respectively comprise some actuating means placed in the booth.
  • The booth comprises a vacuum system that is in charge of vacuuming the residual paint clouds generated during the painting process and that would otherwise come in contact with the air in the area where the objects to be painted are located, since the difficult accessibility of the element to be painted requires its treatment in an open space. This way, the risks associated to the operator's health and environmental degradation are eliminated.
  • The vacuum system comprises a set of retaining filters and a bed of activated charcoal that allow the filtration of the residual air in several stages, being finally evacuated inside the area where the element being painted is located, with health and safety conditions in accordance with labour and environmental legislation.
  • The booth comprises means that carry out the movement of the chassis to place the booth in front of different areas of the element to be painted. These means are wheels attached to the chassis that enable its movement in any direction, wherein two of the wheels are steering wheels, with one or two of them being driving wheels, actuated by a gear motor adjacent to the wheel, as well as by a pneumatic cylinder or similar actuator that establishes the direction of the booth during the movement.
  • The booth further comprises a canvas bellows or the like in order to channel the air to be evacuated and an illumination system placed above the operator's area.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • To complement the description being made and in order to help better understand the features of the invention, according to a preferred practical embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of said description, wherein the following is shown as way of illustration but not limited to:
    • Figure 1. - Shows a perspective view of the paint booth of the present invention when the movement means are not moved with respect to the chassis.
    • Figure 2. - Shows a perspective view of the paint booth of the present invention when the movement means are moved with respect to the chassis in order to access the area to be painted.
    • Figure 3. - Shows a perspective view of the vacuum system of the paint booth of the present invention.
    • Figure 4. - Shows a side view of Figure 2 where the element to be painted by the user is seen.
