- □ has an excellent short-term color development and a very good color intensity of the caused by local pressure typefaces, because the known pressure-sensitive recording materials sometimes here in the situation are not able to bring completely convincing results,
- □ is advantageously designed with regard to the self-releasing properties that are particularly important for the production of form sets,
- □ has good offset printability especially on the side of the CF layer, because customer requirements nowadays often provide for offset printing of the pressure sensitive recording materials and
- □ ensures trouble-free and stable machine operation during production, even at higher machine speeds.

- Zink-Salicylat;
- ■ Aufbringen der vorbereiteten ersten Beschichtungszusammensetzung auf der Vorderseite des Substrates zur Ausbildung einer Farb-Reaktionsschicht;
- ■ Trocknen der ersten Beschichtungszusammensetzung;
- ■ Aufrollen des bahnförmigen Substrats mit der Farb-Reaktionsschicht.
- ■ forming a web-shaped substrate having a front side as the first of the two substrate sides and a back side as the second of the two substrate sides;
- Preparing a first coating composition, said first coating composition comprising at least
- an inorganic pigment,
- a binder,
- Zinc salicylate;
- Applying the prepared first coating composition on the front side of the substrate to form a color reaction layer;

- ■ Rolling up the web-shaped substrate with the color reaction layer.
- und bevorzugt zusätzlich Mittel zur Hydrophobierung;
- □ Aufbringen der vorbereiteten zweiten Beschichtungszusammensetzung zur Ausbildung einer pigmentierten und bevorzugt hydrophoben Beschichtung auf der Rückseite des Substrats;
- □ Trocknen der zweiten Beschichtungszusammensetzung.
- □ preparing a second coating composition, said second coating composition comprising at least
- an inorganic pigment,
- a binder
- and preferably additionally hydrophobing agents;
- Applying the prepared second coating composition to form a pigmented and preferably hydrophobic coating on the back side of the substrate;
- □ drying the second coating composition.

In contrast to the CF layers explained above, CB layers (coated back), as understood in the present specification, contain microcapsules in which dye precursors are present in a suitable solvent. In principle, the application of a localized pressure to the CB coating, for example by writing by means of a pen or a typewriter, causes the microcapsules to break up, resulting in a release of the previously encapsulated dye precursors. Then come dye precursor from the microcapsules with the zinc salicylate as at least one color acceptor within the CF layer together, it comes to forming a color reaction, which takes place exactly where the microcapsules were previously broken by the pressure exerted: usually this happens along a script line, which is formed by inscription by means of pen or typewriter. Finally, an SC coating, as previously noted in paragraph [0004], includes both encapsulated dye precursors and dye acceptors that react with these dye precursors upon release.
In the course of the experiments preceding this invention, a preference of the inventors with regard to such, with the CF recording materials produced by the method proposed herein color-forming to be bonded CB recording materials having microcapsules, which largely not in terms of size and the leuco dyes preferably used therein are restricted. However, those microcapsules which have a wall material of melamine-formaldehyde resin with a preferred average capsule size in a range in particular of 4 to 6 μm are particularly well-proven. Diisopropylnaphthalene oil (KMC oil from Rütgers Novares GmbH, Duisburg, Germany) is preferably used as the capsule content, containing as dye precursor leuco dyes in a range from 4 to 7.5% by weight.
- ■ as non-surface-treated, mass-glued paper,
- As unprimed paper, but at least on the front side and / or on the back prepared paper - preferably using a starch solution optionally with surface-sizing additives as the preparation for preparation,
- ■ as at least the front side provided with a polyolefin coating paper.
The formation of the web-like substrate in its execution as paper is done for example on a paper machine, in which at least one upstream Mischbütte a paper pulp of different pulps, optionally groundwood, fillers and water is applied and where preferred to this paper pulp before being fed to the paper machine other ingredients such as resin size for engine sizing and other conventional additives such as pigments, Nuancierfarbstoffe and / or optical brighteners are added. After a possible and preferred Smoothing the paper web as a web-shaped substrate, this can be rolled up as a semi-finished product on a spool at the end of the paper machine.
- either using a printing unit, very particularly preferably using at least one offset printing unit,
- or using a coater
- in Form alphanumerischer Zeichen
- in the form of a pattern or
- in the form of geometric figures, such as square, rectangle, ellipse or
- in the form of alphanumeric characters
- (a.) a starch preparation optionally with surface sizing additives and / or
- (b.) a pigmented coating is applied. This pigmented coating then preferably has at least one inorganic pigment, for which in particular calcined kaolin is offered. However, the following inorganic pigments are also very suitable as constituents of the pigmented coating: silicon oxide, bentonite, calcium carbonate and aluminum oxide. Also mixtures of several different types of inorganic pigments are conceivable. In addition to the inorganic pigments, the pigmented coating contains at least one binder preferably based on a synthetic polymer, for example, styrene-butadiene latex gives particularly good results. The use of a synthetic binder with the admixture of at least one natural polymer, such as particularly preferred starch, represents a particularly suitable embodiment.
According to the invention, the first coating composition for forming a CF layer in addition to the zinc salicylate comprises at least one inorganic pigment selected from the list comprising: natural kaolin, calcined kaolin, silica, talc, natural calcium carbonate, precipitated calcium carbonate and aluminum (hydr). oxide. In particular, it is possible for the CF layer to contain a pigment mixture, wherein the pigment mixture contains at least one inorganic pigment, more preferably at least two inorganic pigments, selected from the list respectively, comprising: natural kaolin, calcined kaolin, silicic acid, talc , natural Calcium carbonate, precipitated calcium carbonate and aluminum (hydr) oxide. Most preferably by the inventors, the CF layer comprises a pigment mixture of exactly two materially different inorganic pigments, each selected from the list, comprising: natural kaolin, calcined kaolin, silicic acid, talc, natural calcium carbonate, precipitated calcium carbonate and aluminum (hydr) oxide , In a most preferred embodiment, the CF layer contains a pigment mixture exclusively of natural kaolin and precipitated calcium carbonate. In such a case, the experiments and trial preparations preceding the invention showed that the Inventor places a particular preference on a CF layer with the zinc salicylate as at least one color acceptor using as pigment a pigment mixture of natural kaolin and precipitated calcium carbonate wherein the weight percent mixing ratio of natural kaolin and precipitated calcium carbonate is in a range of 2: 1 to 1: 2.
- ■ 25,0 - 32,0 cm (Messgeschwindigkeit 1,60 mm/sec),

- ■ 25.0 - 32.0 cm (measuring speed 1.60 mm / sec),
- ■ 31.0 - 37.0 cm (measuring speed 3.45 mm / sec),
- ■ 37.0 - 45.0 cm (measuring speed 8.55 mm / sec)
In addition to an inorganic pigment and in particular a pigment mixture of at least two inorganic pigments selected from the list comprising: natural kaolin, calcined kaolin, silica, talc, natural calcium carbonate, precipitated calcium carbonate and aluminum (hydr) oxide, the CF layer preferably contains at least a binder selected from the list comprising: styrene-butadiene latex, styrene-acrylate latex, starch, polyvinyl alcohol. The preference of the inventors is styrene-butadiene latex, which is used in particular together with starch.
Within the CF layer, it is also preferred that the zinc salicylate in a range of 4 to 14 wt .-%, most preferably in a range of 5.5 to 11.0 wt .-% - based on the Total weight of the CF layer - integrated in this layer. At the same time, it has been found to be particularly advantageous and is considered preferable when the ratio based on wt% within the CF layer

most preferably in a range of 1: 7.5 to 1: 12.5.
