Definitions
- the present invention relates to a frame-embrasure assembly for walls sliding in the recess, in particular for windows and French windows, arranged to embrace and maintain at least one wall.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a frame-door assembly such that the various elements constituting the fixed frame are entirely positioned above or below the outer surface of the doorway so that the fixed frame reveals no protruding element outside the doorway.
- the figure 1 of the document WO-2010/130837 discloses a set of frames-embrasure for sliding walls.
- the upper portion of the T-shaped guide rail (10) is positioned recessed in the opening groove of the recess.
- the elements of the frame including the fixed frame, positioned outside the embrasure form protrusions relative to the floor or ceiling and have various disadvantages both from an aesthetic point of view that functional.
- Such elements come to interrupt the plans formed by the floors and ceilings.
- This type of frame does not provide an impression of continuity and uniqueness of floors and ceilings.
- the aesthetic aspect of the building is therefore depreciated.
- Said elements projecting from the embrasure also have a major drawback as to the risk of tripping and injury for a person moving between the spaces separated by the doorway.
- these protruding elements are difficult obstacles for people moving in a wheelchair or using a walker.
- the operation of objects, wheel mounted or not can be difficult because of these projecting elements. This includes moving furniture, especially chairs, lounge chairs, chairs and tables, as well as umbrellas, barbecues, potted plants or any decorative items.
- the present invention therefore aims to provide a solution to the aforementioned problems.
- the invention thus configured provides a frame in which the various elements constituting the fixed frame are entirely positioned above or below the outer surface of the recess so that the fixed frame does not reveal any protruding element in the frame. outside the doorway. Therefore, the use of such a device provides an impression of continuity and uniqueness of floors and ceilings between spaces separated by the doorway. The aestheticism of the place is not therefore depreciated by the presence of constituent elements of the fixed frame. Due to the absence of projecting element of the embrasure, the ease of circulation between the spaces separated by the doorway is not impeded. The risks of tripping and injury are avoided. Access to the spaces separated by the doorway for persons with reduced mobility or disabilities, as well as the maneuvering of objects between said spaces, is also facilitated.
- the figure 1 is a sectional view along a vertical plane of the lower part of a frame according to the invention, in a first embodiment.
- the frame designed to embrace and maintain a wall 5, here consisting of a double glazing unit, comprises an intermediate element 4, a fixed frame 1 and displacement means 2 associated with the fixed frame 1 allowing the wall 5 to be displaced. along the fixed frame 1.
- the intermediate element 4 is intended to be fixed to said wall 5.
- the intermediate element 4 comprises a profile 4c, for example, in U capping the wall 5 on one of its longitudinal edges 5a, the intermediate element 4 and the wall 5 being made integral by the bonding of at least one face 5b and 5c of the wall 5 with at least one longitudinal flange of the profile 4c U.
- the intermediate element 4 comprises two main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b connected at one of their ends to the profile 4c and two longitudinal pads 4d and 4e connected to the other end of the main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b.
- the embrasure 3 of the frame comprises two open grooves 6a and 6b defining two lateral embrasure elements 3b and 3c and at least one intermediate embrasure element 3a disposed between the open grooves 6a and 6b.
- the term "through groove” means a groove opening on either side of the embrasure 3.
- the outgoing grooves 6a and 6b are of a width less than 15 mm, preferably equal to 10 mm, whereas their section is preferably rectangular .
- the main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b respectively pass through the outgoing grooves 6a and 6b so that the profile 4c is entirely positioned outside the embrasure 3, that is to say above the upper surface S e side embrasure elements 3b and 3c.
- This surface S e is aligned with the floor of the building inside which is arranged the frame. Similarly, in the case of the upper part of the frame, this surface S e will advantageously be aligned with the ceiling of the building inside which the frame is arranged, the configuration of the frame being then symmetrical with respect to to a horizontal plane from that shown on the figure 1 .
- the main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b are preferably transversely centered in the emergent grooves 6a and 6b and the width of the main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b is dimensioned so that the transverse distance between these and the embrasure 3 is smaller at 5 mm.
- the longitudinal pads 4d and 4e are equipped with 4f and 4g support strips arranged longitudinally.
- the support strips 4f and 4g cooperate with the displacement means 2 which comprise bearing sliding support units 2a each having two ball bearings 2b and 2c rolling on the support strips 4f and 4g. Therefore, the intermediate element 4, cooperating with the displacement means 2 associated with the fixed frame 1, allows the longitudinal displacement of the wall 5 along the fixed frame 1.
- the ball bearings 2b and 2c preferably likewise dimension, are mounted on fixed axes and inclined in the opposite direction of a small angle relative to the horizontal so as to ensure self-centering of the wall 5 during its sliding.
- the moving means 2 will be more fully detailed below in the description of the figure 2 .
- the main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b delimit a longitudinal groove 7 in the intermediate element 4 in which the intermediate embrasure element 3a is engaged.
- the intermediate embrasure element 3a can be held in the longitudinal groove 7 by various connection means connected to the fixed frame 1.
- the fixed frame 1 comprises an inverted U-shaped cover profile 1c placed on two benches 1h and 1i of the longitudinal profiles respectively 1a and 1b forming the fixed frame 1.
- the benches 1h and 1i are preferably coplanar.
- connection means 8 comprising at least one screw 8a and optionally a spacer 8b, the intermediate embrasure element 3a is fixed on the cover profile 1c and held in the longitudinal groove 7.
- the intermediate embrasure element 3a is transversely centered in the longitudinal groove 7 and the width of the intermediate embrasure element 3a is dimensioned so that the transverse distance therebetween and the main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b is less than 5 mm.
- the transverse distance between the main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b, that is to say the width of the longitudinal groove 7, and a fortiori the width of the intermediate embrasure element 3a depend on the width of the wall 5. In a double-glazed wall, the distance between the two main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b is typically of the order of 35 mm.
- the intermediate embrasure element 3a is preferably dimensioned and positioned so that its upper surface S is at the level of the upper surface S e side embrasure elements 3b and 3c.
- connection means 10 comprise at least one connecting strip 10a engaged in at least one groove 10b formed in the lateral edges of longitudinal profiles 1a. and 1b.
- connection means 10 comprise two connecting strips 10a each engaged in a different groove 10b.
- the longitudinal sections 1a and 1b respectively comprise a longitudinal flange 1f and 1g with, at their upper part, a pair of recessed flanges 1j, 1k and 11m, which respectively hold brushes 11a and 11b in contact with the intermediate element 4 and at their central part, an internal longitudinal rib 1d and 1e.
- the displacement means 2 are secured to the cover profile 1c by means of transverse pins 9 disposed between the inner longitudinal ribs 1d and 1e and dimensioned according to the width of these internal longitudinal ribs 1d and 1e.
- the wall 5 is arranged to slide longitudinally, that is to say in the plane perpendicular to the plane of the figure 1 in the fixed frame 1.
- the frame does not reveal any projecting element outside the recess 3, the various elements constituting the fixed frame 1 being entirely positioned inside the recess 3.
- ci that is to say below the surfaces S and S e of the embrasure elements 3a, 3b and 3c for the lower part of the frame and above the surfaces S and S e of the elements of embrasure 3a, 3b and 3c for the upper part of the frame. From the aesthetic and functional point of view, the aforementioned disadvantages of traditional frames are avoided.
- the figure 2 is an exploded axonometric perspective view of the lower part of the frame of the figure 1 . We find in this frame view the same elements as in the figure 1 so it's not necessary to list them again. The description of the figure 2 focuses on the means of displacement 2 and their interactions with different elements of the framework.
- the European patent application EP 2 093 364 A1 filed by the Applicant, details and claims such displacement means.
- the fixed frame 1 comprises an inverted U-shaped cover profile 1c placed on two benches 1h and 1i longitudinal profiles respectively 1a and 1b.
- the 1h and 1i benches are preferably coplanar.
- displacement means 2 resting on the benches 1h and 1i are placed at a distance distance.
- the profile 1c can serve, as mentioned above, to maintain by means of connection means 8 the element of intermediate embrasure 3a in the throat longitudinal 7 delimited by the main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b.
- Each unit of displacement means 2 comprises a rectangular base plate 2d, two suspension blocks 2e mounted at the ends of the rectangular base plate 2d and a sliding bearing support unit 2a.
- the sliding bearing support units 2a each have two ball bearings 2b and 2c preferably of the same size.
- the ball bearings 2b and 2c are mounted on fixed axes and inclined in the opposite direction of a small angle relative to the horizontal so as to ensure self-centering of the wall 5 during its sliding.
- the cover profile 1c has distance distance elongated openings 1n on its horizontal or near-horizontal face and 1p bores on its vertical or quasi-vertical faces. The elongated openings 1n are placed so as to allow the ball bearings 2b and 2c to cooperate with the intermediate element 4, in particular with the longitudinal shoes 4d and 4e respectively equipped with support strips 4f and 4g.
- each longitudinal section 1a and 1b With the pins 9 introduced into the bores 1p, the displacement means 2 are fixed along the longitudinal sections 1a and 1b. Indeed, a transverse pin 9, dimensioned so as to be wedged between the internal longitudinal ribs 1d and 1e of each longitudinal section 1a and 1b, transversely crosses the bores 1p of the profiles 1c and each block of suspension 2e by the presence of bores 2g in the latter. The number and positioning of said elongated openings 1n and 1p bores are in line with the dimensioning and the number of displacement means 2 used in the frame. Each suspension block 2e has four bores 2f perpendicular to the base plate 2d and partially threaded.
- a screw and a spring are engaged in each of the bores 2f and connect the suspension blocks 2e to the base plate 2d.
- the dimensions of the screws and springs as well as the clamping are adjusted so that a space is maintained between the suspension blocks 2e and the base plate 2d.
- the springs can be compressed without the 2nd suspension blocks coming into contact with the base plate 2d. The desired suspension effect is therefore ensured. Beyond an upper limit value of the load, the compression of the springs is such that the suspension blocks 2e are brought into contact with the base plate 2d.
- the figure 3 is a vertical section of the lower part of a frame with two contiguous frames.
- the two fixed frames 1 are in accordance with the first embodiment of the invention shown in the figure 1 except that the longitudinal sections 1a and 1b of each respective frame are positioned so that two longitudinal profiles 1b are adjacent and therefore constitute the inner longitudinal profiles of the frame, the longitudinal sections 1a constituting the outer longitudinal profiles of the framing.
- the two fixed frames 1 are held integral with each other by means of connection means 12. These are similar to the connection means 10 now secured to the profiles 1a and 1b of each fixed frame 1.
- the means 12 comprise at least one connecting strip 12a engaged in at least one groove 12b of the lateral edges of the longitudinal profiles 1b.
- the connection means 12 comprise two connecting strips 12a each engaged in a different groove 12b.
- a heat seal 13 is positioned between the longitudinal profiles 1b of the fixed frames 1 contiguous.
- the figure 4 is a sectional view along a vertical plane of the lower part of a frame not forming part of the invention.
- the frame designed to embrace and maintain a wall 5, again consisting of a double glazing, comprises an intermediate element 4, a fixed frame 1 and displacement means 2 associated with the fixed frame 1 allowing the displacement of the wall 5 along the fixed frame 1.
- the intermediate element 4 differs mainly.
- the intermediate element 4 comprises a profile 4c intended to be fixed to the wall 5, a main longitudinal wing 4a connected at one of its ends to the profile 4c and at the other end to a transverse wing 4h on which two longitudinal pads 4d and 4th are connected using two longitudinal longitudinal wings 4i and 4j.
- the embrasure 3 comprises a through groove 6a.
- the emergent groove 6a is of a width less than 15 mm, preferably equal to 10 mm while its section is preferably rectangular.
- the main longitudinal wing 4a passes through the emergent groove 6a so that the profile 4c is entirely positioned outside the embrasure 3, that is to say above the outer surface S e of the doorway 3 for the lower part of the frame or below the outer surface S e of the embrasure 3 for the upper part of the frame.
- the main longitudinal flange 4a is preferably transversely centered in the emerging groove 6a and the width of the longitudinal flange 4a is dimensioned so that the transverse distance therebetween and the embrasure 3 is less than 5 mm.
- the intermediate element 4 cooperates with the displacement means 2 associated with the fixed frame 1 in the same manner as in the first embodiment of the invention shown sure Figures 1 to 3 . This cooperation allows the longitudinal displacement of the wall 5 along the fixed frame 1.
- the wall 5 is arranged to slide longitudinally, that is to say in the plane perpendicular to the plane of the figure 4 in the fixed frame 1.
- the frame does not reveal any projecting element outside the recess 3, the various elements constituting the fixed frame being entirely positioned inside thereof , that is to say below the surface S e of the embrasure 3 for the lower part of the frame and above the outer surface S e of the embrasure 3 for the upper part of the 'framing. From the aesthetic and functional point of view, the aforementioned disadvantages of traditional frames are avoided.
- the first embodiment of the invention is preferred to the frame presented to the figure 4 since the forces and constraints related to the weight of the wall are taken up by the two main longitudinal wings 4a and 4b.
- the intermediate element and the moving means differ mainly.
- the intermediate element comprising a profile intended to be fixed to the wall and a longitudinal main wing connected to one of its ends to said profile, is equipped with a single longitudinal pad connected to the other end of the main longitudinal wing.
- the main longitudinal wing passes through a groove opening so that said profile is fully positioned outside the doorway.
- the intermediate element cooperates with displacement means associated with the fixed frame.
- These moving means are described in the European patent application EP 2 221 440 A1 . They comprise rolling slide support units. These consist of an inverted U-shaped rail mounted on two benches of the longitudinal profiles forming the fixed frame.
- the sliding bearing support units comprise a shaft traversing transversely the U-shaped rail and bearing a ball bearing.
- the intermediate element rests on the ball bearing.
- the rolling slide support units are spaced apart along the fixed frame. The cooperation of the intermediate element with the displacement means allows the longitudinal displacement of the wall along the fixed frame.
- the longitudinal sections forming the fixed frame comprise bosses intended to center the moving means in the fixed frame.
- the frame thus configured does not reveal any projecting element outside the doorway, the various elements constituting the fixed frame being entirely positioned inside thereof. From the aesthetic and functional point of view, the aforementioned disadvantages of traditional frames are avoided.
- the sliding bearing support units may advantageously comprise two ball bearings mounted on the same shaft so that two longitudinal pads of an intermediate element can cooperate with the displacement means.

The elements of the frame, including the fixed frame, positioned outside the embrasure form protrusions relative to the floor or ceiling and have various disadvantages both from an aesthetic point of view that functional. First, such elements come to interrupt the plans formed by the floors and ceilings. This type of frame does not provide an impression of continuity and uniqueness of floors and ceilings. The aesthetic aspect of the building is therefore depreciated. Said elements projecting from the embrasure also have a major drawback as to the risk of tripping and injury for a person moving between the spaces separated by the doorway. Moreover, these protruding elements are difficult obstacles for people moving in a wheelchair or using a walker. Moreover, the operation of objects, wheel mounted or not, can be difficult because of these projecting elements. This includes moving furniture, especially chairs, lounge chairs, chairs and tables, as well as umbrellas, barbecues, potted plants or any decorative items.
The present invention therefore aims to provide a solution to the aforementioned problems.
For this purpose, according to the invention, there is provided a frame-embrasure assembly for walls according to
The invention thus configured provides a frame in which the various elements constituting the fixed frame are entirely positioned above or below the outer surface of the recess so that the fixed frame does not reveal any protruding element in the frame. outside the doorway.

As mentioned above, the fixed

In the open position, the frame thus configured does not reveal any projecting element outside the doorway, the various elements constituting the fixed frame being entirely positioned inside thereof. From the aesthetic and functional point of view, the aforementioned disadvantages of traditional frames are avoided.
The sliding bearing support units may advantageously comprise two ball bearings mounted on the same shaft so that two longitudinal pads of an intermediate element can cooperate with the displacement means.
