A device (1), referred to as a baby wedge, for keeping a new-born baby (10) lying on its back, said device comprising at least two flanges (2) and one element (3), preferably of the band type, for connecting said flanges (2) to each other, said flanges, in the state connected to each other by said connecting element (3), delimiting between them, in a parallel arrangement of their longitudinal axes, a space (4) for laying down the new-born baby in which the new-born baby (10) can be laid on its back in a configuration in which the flanks of the torso (11) of the new-born baby (10) are bordered by the flanges (2) and in which the armpits (12) and at least part of the arms (13) of the new-born baby can bear on one (5) of the end faces, called upper end face (5), of the flanges, wherein, in the state with the flanges (2) connected to each other by said connecting element (3), and in a parallel arrangement with the longitudinal axes of the flanges to delimit the space (4) for laying the new-born baby (10) on its back, the upper end faces (5) of the flanges (2) are beveled faces inclined in a descending slope from the inside toward the outside of the laying down space (4),
    characterized in that, in said state, the end faces, referred to as lower (6), of the flanges (2) opposite the upper end faces (5) of the flanges are inclined in a descending slope from the inside toward the outside of the laying down space (4).
  2. The device according to claim 1,

    characterized in that at least one of the flanges (2) is or can be coupled to the connecting element (3) by a self-gripping connection (7).
  8. The device (1) according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that each flange (2) is formed by a body, preferably made from foam, and a protective enclosure for said body, said enclosure being removable on said body.
