Definitions
- the present invention relates to the use of a multilayered roll having a relatively soft inner layer and a relatively hard and wear resistant outer layer thereafter, the outer layer having a hardness of 5 to 100 P & J and the softer layer having a hardness of 20 to 180 P & J owns.
- Multilayered rolls used in papermaking are well known.
- the document describes EP 1 659 216 B1 a dewatering roller having a relatively hard outer layer and a relatively soft inner layer.
- the object underlying the invention is therefore to provide an improved and optimized roller for gluing, pigmenting or brushing paper.
- This object is achieved by using a multilayered roll as a coating roll or glue roll or film press roll, which has a relatively soft inner layer and a relatively hard and wear-resistant outer layer following thereon, the outer layer having a hardness of 5 to 100 P & J and the softer layer has a hardness of 20 to 180 P & J.
- Such a roll with a two-layer roll cover can be used very well as a roll for surface finishing of paper (for example for gluing, pigmenting or brushing).
- the desired and required properties can be set in two layers independently of each other.
- the outer layer can be optimized, for example, in view of the surface roughness and the hydrophilic properties, so as to adjust the film formation, application amount, film transfer and / or sheet delivery. For example, the so-called “misting" can be reduced or avoided. Even the so-called "sheet stealing” can be avoided by adjusting the surface texture.
- the outer layer can be optimized in terms of the material used to adjust mechanical, chemical and thermal resistance according to the requirements.
- the life of the cover can be increased with it.
- the inner layer is selected and adjusted in terms of dynamic properties, for example to optimize the damping of vibrations caused by external influences.
- the damping can be optimized, for example, by targeted adjustment of the hardness within the specified range.
- the material of the outer layer is chosen so that a hardness of 5 to 80 P & J is achieved. More preferably, the softer layer has a hardness of 30 to 150 P & J.
- the outer layer is preferably rubber, rubber, polyurethane or solid rubber selected.
- the inner layer is preferably made of rubber, rubber, polyurethane or solid rubber. Most preferably, the same materials are selected for the inner layer and the outer layer.
- the inner layer has a thickness of 5 to 50 mm, preferably 10 to 20 mm.
- the outer layer preferably has a thickness of 2 to 20 mm, preferably 4 to 10 mm.
- the roller has an inner metal core or metal body, which carries the layer structure, wherein preferably between the metal core and the inner layer, an intermediate layer is provided, which preferably consists of rubber, polyurethane or plastic.
- the single figure shows a schematic sectional view of a multilayer roller, which is used according to the invention as a roller for surface finishing of paper.
- an intermediate layer 14 is first applied on a steel core 12, which may be of any design and has at its ends not shown shaft ends for storage. It has a thickness of several millimeters and is preferably made of solid rubber. However, other materials, such as polyurethane or plastic, are also conceivable.
- an inner layer 16 is applied, for example by vulcanization.
- This inner layer 16 has a thickness of about 5 to 50 mm, preferably 10 to 20 mm.
- an outer layer 18 which has a thickness of 2 to 20 mm, preferably 4 to 10 mm, is vulcanized onto this inner layer 16.
- Both the inner layer 16 and the outer layer 18 are made of rubber. However, polyurethane could also be used as the material for the two layers.
- the inner layer 16 has a hardness in the range of 20 to 180 P & J, preferably 30 to 150 P & J.
- the hardness of the outer layer 18 is in the range of 5 to 100 P & J, preferably 5 to 80 P & J.
- the inner layer 16 is thus softer than the outer layer 18.
- Such a roll is now used in the field of surface finishing of paper or paper-like materials, for example, to apply material.
- the roll can thus be used as a glue roll, coating roll or film press roll for surface finishing.
- a roll cover comprising at least two layers, namely the inner layer 16 and the outer layer 18, the requirements for the roll can be implemented in a more targeted manner.
- the various requirements or functions to be implemented are, so to speak, distributed over the two layers, with the result that the individual functions can be optimized.

Abstract
Description
- 1. äußere Schicht
- a. Lebensdauer
- i. Erhöhte Verschleißbeständigkeit
- ii. Optimierte thermische Beständigkeit
- iii. Optimierte chemische Beständigkeit
- b. Funktion
- i. Optimierte Filmbildung - Steuerung hydrophiler Eigenschaften/Oberflächenspannung
- ii. Filmstärke - Oberflächenbeschaffenheit, Steuerung und Stabilisierung von Ra-Werten
- iii. Filmübertrag auf das Papier - Steuerung von Releaseeigenschaften (Stichwort "misting")
- iv. Blattabgabe - Oberflächenbeschaffenheit, Stabilisierung von Ra-Werten (Stichwort "sheet stealing")
- a. Lebensdauer
- 2. innere Schicht
- b. Erhöhte Elastizität und verbessertes Rückstellvermögen, erhöhte Wärmeleitfähigkeit
