Description

The invention relates to a wall-mounted bed according to the preamble of claim 1.

A Murphy bed is both a closet and a bed, which is usually attached to a wall, and if necessary, the bed can be folded in or out. Such beds have been known for more than a hundred years.

Cabinet beds are available in different versions. All known variations include a bed unit and a cabinet unit. The bed unit is connected to the cabinet unit by means of a mechanism whereby the folding movement is assisted by springs. While the cabinet unit is mainly made of wood by a carpentry, the bed unit is only possible as a metal frame.

Murphy beds are particularly suitable for small apartments, youth rooms, for people who often accommodate visitors, or for apartment rentals, hotels that want to offer a full-value extra bed in their hotel rooms.

The Murphy bed or wall folding bed is a real space saving miracle with many. Benefits: It offers more comfort for a good night's sleep than a pull-out sofa bed, thanks to the slatted frame and mattress that the buyer buys according to their needs.

Despite the advantages mentioned above, they are sold worldwide as niche products in furniture stores or by carpenters without significant quantities.

A major reason for this niche existence is on the one hand in the cumbersome and expensive product design, on the other hand in the sparse possibility of cost-effective individual design. Series products are only possible in a uniform manner and are associated with the high risk that one does not meet the needs and tastes of large groups of customers. A flexible design is only individually feasible and therefore associated with very high costs.

Another reason is the need for professional installation and attachment of the cabinet bed on a suitable wall room. Cabinet beds usually have a very high weight.

From the publication FR 2723688 A1 For example, a closet bed is known which comprises a body and a pivotally mounted bed frame, wherein the body and / or the bed frame comprises a collapsible metal frame with frame members and corner connectors. However, such devices have a very high weight and are not flexible formable. Other generic wardrobes are from the publications FR 2791237 A1 , such as US 2,646,577 A known.

Objects of the present invention are to overcome the disadvantages of the constructions known from the prior art, to provide a wall bed that is lightweight and can be easily assembled by lay people by means of an assembly instruction that is nevertheless stable and shapely, an individually printable outer material and also allows for an individual lighting design within the body.

The objects according to the invention are achieved by providing flexible materials, in particular films or textile webs, for receiving the metal frame.

Flexible textile webs are understood to mean flexible materials, in particular all types of printable plastic films.

The textile webs can be positively or non-positively connectable with the frame elements.

At least one frame element may have at least one circumferentially attached, the non-positive or positive attachment of at least one textile web permitting fastener.

At least one of the textile webs can have on at least one of its edges a plug-in element, in particular a rubber lip, which can be positively or non-positively connectable with at least one fastening element.

The fastener may be designed as a tab or milled groove.

At least one textile web can wrap around at least one frame element in whole or in part.

Fig. 1 shows the schematic representation of a first embodiment of the closet bed according to the invention 1. This comprises a body 2 and a bed frame 3 with a slatted frame 18. The bed frame 3 is pivotally mounted on the body 2, wherein gas springs 13 are provided to facilitate the pivoting operation. Both the body 2 and parts of the bed frame 3 are covered with textile webs 7.

Claims (9)

1. Foldaway wall bed (1) having a carcass (2) and a pivotably mounted bed frame (3), the carcass (2) and/or the bed frame (3) comprising a deployable metal frame (4) with frame elements (5) and corner connectors (6), characterised in that flexible materials, particularly films or lengths of textile material (7, 12), are provided for covering the metal frame (4).
2. Foldaway wall bed (1) according to claim 1, characterised in that the flexible materials, particularly the lengths of textile material (7, 12), can be attached to the frame elements (5) by interlocking or frictional engagement.
3. Foldaway wall bed (1) according to claim 2, characterised in that at least one frame element (5) comprises at least one peripherally mounted fixing element (10) that allows the frictional or interlocking attachment of at least one flexible element, particularly at least one length of textile material (7, 12).
4. Foldaway wall bed (1) according to claim 3, characterised in that at least one of the flexible elements, particularly one of the lengths of textile material (7, 12), comprises, on at least one of its edges (8), a plug-in element, particularly a rubber lip (9), which can be connected to at least one fixing element (10) by interlocking or frictional engagement.

8. Foldaway wall bed (1) according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that fixing boards (14) which comprise a bore (15) for receiving mounting bolts (16) are provided for pivotably mounting the bed frame (3) on the carcass (2).
9. Foldaway wall bed (1) according to claim 8, characterised in that mounting sleeves (17) that can be fitted to the fixing boards (14) are provided for holding the mounting bolts (16).
