Dadurch, dass die Schwenkachse abseits des Sitzes ist, also nicht durch den Sitz bzw. durch dessen Sitzfläche hindurch verläuft, kann der Sitz innerhalb des Fahrzeuges durch eine Schwenkbewegung nicht nur gedreht, sondern auch lateral verschoben werden. Der seitliche Abstand zwischen der Schwenkachse und dem Sitz führt dazu, dass der Sitz selbst zwar im Innenraum des Fahrzeuges ist, die Schwenkachse selbst sich aber abseits davon in der Nähe der Fahrzeugöffnung befindet, durch welche die Sitzvorrichtung eingeführt ist.
