Ein anderes Problem stellt sich bei der Papierzuführung für die Schneidevorrichtung: Um eine sichere und für alle Zwecke qualitativ hinreichende Papierquertrennung vornehmen zu können, welche insbesondere keine Rissspuren aufweisen sollte, muss die Papierbahn vor und bei der Quertrennung für einen kurzen Moment angehalten werden. Daraus folgt, dass die Papierbahn am Ort der Quertrenneinrichtung mit verschiedenen Geschwindigkeiten bewegt wird, bzw. verschiedene Phasen der Bewegung durchläuft. Neben einer Phase der konstanten Geschwindigkeit, die im praktischen Betrieb beliebig kurz bis verschwindend sein kann, werden auch Phasen der Beschleunigung sowie eine Abbremsphase zum Stillstand benötigt. Daraus ergibt sich eine Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit, die der Geschwindigkeit der Papierzuführung entspricht und die Betriebsgeschwindigkeit der andauernd arbeitenden Vorrichtung ausmacht.To ensure safe operation at such high flow rates and speeds, various precautions must be taken.
