Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Spulmaschine (1) und Spulmaschine (1) mit einer Vielzahl von Arbeitsstellen (2), die jeweils einen Faden (30) von einem Spinnkops (9) auf eine Kreuzspule (11) spulen, wobei im Lauf des Fadens (30) jeweils ein Sensor (20), der eine die Fadenspannung repräsentierende Größe misst, und ein Fadenspanner (14) angeordnet sind und die Fadenspannung geregelt wird, wobei ein Ausfall des Sensors (20) festgestellt und daraufhin die Fadenspannung gesteuert wird. Erfindungsgemäß wird eine die jeweilige Restfadenlänge auf den Spinnkopsen (9) repräsentierende Größe erfasst, aus in Abhängigkeit von der Restfadenlänge auf den Spinnkopsen (9) mindestens eines während des Spulens mit geregelter Spannung erfassten Stellsignals (u) werden Erfahrungswerte für das Stellsignal (u) ermittelt und für die Steuerung der Fadenspannung durch den Fadenspanner (14) bei Ausfall eines Sensors (20) werden die zuvor ermittelten Erfahrungswerte in Abhängigkeit von der Restfadenlänge auf dem Spinnkops (9) als Stellsignal (u) verwendet.
