A closing device (10) for doors, windows or the like, with a first lock (12) having a catch bolt (14) and/or a locking bar (16), and with a second lock (36) having a thumb latch nut (44) with a thumb latch, wherein the second lock (36), in the state built into the door or the window, is located above the first lock (12), and a connecting rod (30) is provided, which transmits the opening motion of the second lock (36) directly or indirectly to the catch bolt (14) and/or the locking bar (16) of the first lock (12), wherein the thumb latch nut (44) of the second lock (36) has a coupling element (50), wherein the coupling element (50) engages the connecting rod (30), and wherein the connecting rod (30), in the state built into the door or the window, is located behind a cuff (34), mounted on the long side of the wing of a door or casement of a window, characterized in that the coupling element (50) is formed by a lug (42) protruding radially from the thumb latch nut (44); and that the radially protruding lug (42) transmits a rotary motion of the thumb latch nut (44) directly to the connecting rod (30).
  2. The closing device of claim 1, characterized in that the cuff (34) connects the two locks (12, 36).
  3. The closing device of one of the foregoing claims, characterized in that the first lock (12) has a thumb latch nut (22) for a thumb latch and engages the connecting rod (30) via a coupling element (50) on the thumb latch nut (22).
  4. The closing device of claim 3, characterized in that the coupling element (50) of the first lock (12) is formed by a lug (26) radially protruding from the thumb latch nut (22).
  5. The closing device of claim 3, characterized in that the coupling element (50) of the first lock (12) is formed by a nut center part (24) having a radially protruding lug (26).
  6. The closing device of one of the foregoing claims, characterized in that the connecting rod (30) has ends (28, 38) bent at an angle, which are connectable to the coupling element (50).
  7. The closing device of one of the foregoing claims, characterized in that the coupling element (50) drives the connecting rod (30) in both directions.
