Abstract

The method involves folding a panel (P3) on another panel (P2) around a transverse axis and a third panel (P1) on the previously superposed panels around another axis. The panels are secured in definitive manner by rectilinear sewing lines along longitudinal edges forming overlapped bags. One of the bags accessible through opening is completely turned, so that upper face (1b) of the third panel and lower face of the latter panel form internal faces of duvet bag. The other bag is completely turned so as to close and block a duvet in the respective bag and access a sleeping bag (EG). An independent claim is also included for a protection cover for duvet.

Description

The present invention relates to a bedding element consisting of a single fabric panel, folded and sewn to form a duvet cover, provided beneath a sleeping envelope for accommodating the user. The term "duvet" is taken in the broad sense and includes eiderdowns and the like, made of natural materials (cotton, silk, feathers, down ...) or synthetic.
  1. 1) The most commonly used duvet cover nowadays is in the form of a rectangular-shaped fabric envelope having a relatively restricted opening on one of the edges to allow the introduction of the duvet. The major disadvantage of such a cover lies in the difficulty in introducing the quilt through this narrow opening, since there is a need to fold it before sliding it into the cover and then to unfold it evenly flat, taking care to match the four corners with those of the cover. These operations, made through this opening, with a restricted field of vision, are not very precise and inefficient. This is often a source of waste of time but also nervousness. The problem is accentuated with large covers, requiring greater physical effort. To remedy these drawbacks, several solutions have been proposed, as illustrated by patents ( FR2858532 ), ( FR2911057 ), ( FR2840519 ), ( FR2649877 ) and ( FR2895657 ), but all use a closure system. This can be for example buttonhole type, snap, slide or Velcro tape. In addition to the sometimes unsightly side of these different systems, they have many major drawbacks, stated below:
    1. a) Indeed, the integration and implementation of these different closure systems increase the complexity and manufacturing processes, resulting in a considerable increase in production costs and an increase in cost. Added to this are, of course, additional constraints related to the purchase and supply of these closure systems considered as a raw material.
    2. b) In use, it is highlighted the impractical and annoying sides of such systems, including buttoning operations that take time and where care must be taken not to shift the damn to start all over again. There are the zipper systems that get stuck regularly but also the hook and loop strips that are delicate to position and that clog up quickly. Ironing operations that require more attention are necessarily longer and more complicated, including industrial ironing that sometimes prove impossible.
    3. c) In addition, there are also the constraints related to the more or less rapid wear of these systems that will significantly reduce the life of the duvet cover.
  2. 2) There are also duvet covers equipped with a more or less sophisticated system to secure the cover with the mattress, such as the duvet cover having a shape called "bottle" having a flap on the small side at the level of feet and intended to slip under the mattress. Licences ( EP1082928 ), ( FR2799358 ) and ( FR2837686 ) have this solution. These duvet covers have a major disadvantage, because designed specifically for use with a mattress, it is not practical to move them to fit on other types of seating or sleeping, such as sofas, sofas, armchairs, seats (bunk train), inflatable beds and others (for the car, camping , ...). In addition, the operation of positioning under the mattress can present difficulties especially when the mattress is heavy and / or difficult to access as on a bunk bed.
  3. 3) Duvet covers, known until now in their simplified form, do not guarantee the user to remain covered. Indeed, the latter can easily in his sleep, turning or moving, move the duvet and slide on the side or out of bed. An inconvenience often observed in children. This major disadvantage has been minimized by the over-sizing of the duvets, but without completely removing it. However this oversizing which increases the purchase and maintenance costs, also increases the efforts related to handling including those concerning the correct placement of the quilt in its cover.

The present invention aims to remedy all of the disadvantages mentioned above, which are in their majority duvet covers the most known and used. It relates to a duvet cover of rectangular or optionally square shape, having a new simplified structure, as well as an additional functionality which is that of a sleeping envelope that guarantees the user when slipped inside to take advantage of the protection of the quilt without risk of being discovered.

It also has a significant economic interest since it requires the addition of any closure system, or any mattress maintenance system.

It also allows the use of smaller quilt, with improved comfort, since the user is guaranteed not to be discovered while enjoying the heat maintained by the sleeping envelope. In addition, the use of small quilt will have interesting consequences:
  • to gain in practicality notably by facilitating the operations of storage, cleaning (washing, drying, shaking, ...),
  • to facilitate the establishment of the duvet in its cover,
  • to realize a substantial economic and ecological gain.

This duvet cover and sleeping cover is composed of a single fabric panel, whose length is substantially equivalent to three times that of the duvet and substantially the same width as this one, with a finishing hem along each of the two side edges.

Two transverse axes are used to divide this panel into three panels of the same size, and allow the successive folding on the central panel of the two peripheral panels, to form three superimposed panels which are then permanently secured by a line of stitching made the along the two longitudinal edges corresponding to the sides of the bed.

Alternatively, the last folded panel is shorter by a few centimeters, which has the effect of slightly shift the opening of the duvet cover in order to make it more accessible.

Alternatively, the first folded panel is shorter by a few centimeters, which has the effect of slightly shift the opening of the coating so that the user can access it more easily.

Alternatively, to provide more flexibility and aesthetics in the design, the only previously described fabric panel is made from two or three separate panels, connected by seam lines made precisely at the transverse axes folding.

At this stage of the realization, the completed work is upside down, in the form of a monobloc envelope substantially the size of a quilt having three layers of tissue. More precisely, the structure consists of two nested envelopes, only one of which is accessible through an opening that runs the full width of a lateral edge. This envelope must be completely turned over so that the upper face and the lower face of the work constitute the two internal faces of a new envelope called the duvet envelope. This also has the effect of simultaneously releasing the opening of the second envelope. Note that each envelope has an opening along the entire length of a side edge, which in this case has the effect of facilitating the introduction and positioning of the duvet in its envelope. Once the quilt is positioned, the second envelope is completely turned over in order to wedge and enclose the quilt in its envelope, and to form simultaneously beneath it the sleeping envelope. This last envelope guarantees the user to be effectively protected from the cold while retaining the heat inside and eliminating any risk of being discovered.

The principle of the present invention lies in the design of a duvet cover with a sleeping envelope, made using a single piece of fabric, shown on the figure 1 ). Two finishing hems (o1) and (o3) were made along both side edges to prevent the fabric from fraying. Thus the hem (o1) is made at the place with the fold of the fabric positioned below and the hem (o3) is done upside down with the fold of the fabric positioned above. These folds will ultimately be located outside the sleeping envelope for a better user comfort, as shown in ( figure 7 ). This single piece of fabric is of longitudinal and rectangular shape, and compared to the dimensions of the duvet, it has substantially three times its length and substantially its width.

Two transverse axes (A1) and (A2), represented in ( figure 1 ), share the fabric panel into three panels (P1), (P2) and (P3) of identical length (L1), (L2) and (L3), substantially equal to the length of the comforter.

Cette variante privilégiée est représentée sur l'ensemble des (figures 2 à 7b).Alternatively, the length (L1) of the panel (P1) is shortened by a few centimeters, which has the effect of shifting by a distance (d1) the opening of the duvet cover (EC), as clearly shown. the ( figures 5 and 6 ). This offset allows easier access to the duvet cover (EC) and thus facilitates the introduction and positioning of the duvet (C) in its cover. This privileged variant is represented on all ( Figures 2 to 7b ).

Alternatively, the length (L3) of the panel (P3) is shortened by several centimeters, which has the effect of shifting the opening of the coating envelope (EG) by a distance (d2), as clearly shown. the ( figure 7b ). This offset allows easier access to the sleeping envelope and allows the user to enter and exit the envelope more easily.

These, located precisely at the level of the transverse axes (A1) and (A2), are made on the reverse side so that the edges, along these seams (Lc1) and (Lc2), are hidden, ultimately, inside the enveloping parts, as clearly shown. the ( figure 7a ).

En variante, il est également possible d'utiliser seulement deux panneaux de tissu, reliés au niveau d'un des axes transversaux (A1) ou (A2), comme le montrent les (figures 1b et 1c).Alternatively, it is also possible to use only two fabric panels, connected at one of the transverse axes (A1) or (A2), as shown by ( Figures 1b and 1c ).

Comme le montre la (figure 1), chaque panneau (P1), (P2) et (P3) comporte respectivement une face du dessus (1a), (2a), et (3a) et respectivement une face du dessous (1b), (2b) et (3b).As shown in ( figure 1 ), each panel (P1), (P2) and (P3) respectively has a top face (1a), (2a), and (3a) and a bottom face (1b), (2b) and (3b) respectively. .

Plus précisément, comme le montre la (figure 2), la face (3a) du panneau (P3) vient recouvrir entièrement la face (2a) du panneau (P2) et la face (1a) du panneau (P1) vient recouvrir la face (3b) du panneau (P3).The first embodiment step is the folding around the transverse axis (A2), in the direction of the arrow (f3) indicated in ( figure 1 ), the panel (P3) on the central panel (P2), then the folding around the transverse axis (A1), in the direction of the arrow (f1) indicated in ( figure 1 ), the panel (P1) on the panels (P2) and (P3) superimposed. More precisely, as shown in ( figure 2 ), the face (3a) of the panel (P3) completely covers the face (2a) of the panel (P2) and the face (1a) of the panel (P1) covers the face (3b) of the panel (P3).

Then, to finalize the embodiment of the invention, the three superimposed panels (P1), (P2) and (P3) are permanently joined by two straight lines of taps made along the two longitudinal edges (Bo1) and (Bo2 ), represented on the figure 3 ), forming simultaneously the duvet cover and the sleeping envelope, not yet accessible.

As shown in ( figure 4 ), the work consisting of two interleaved envelopes (E1) and (E2) opening equal to the width of the work, is upside down with visible seams. The envelope (E2) has its opening at the bottom of the envelope (E1) along the lateral edge (Bo4), while the envelope (E1) has its accessible opening, slightly set back a distance (d1) side edge (Bo3). This must be completely turned in the direction of the arrows (f), so that the upper face (1b) of the panel (P1) and the lower face (2b) of the panel (P2) constitute the two inner faces of the quilt envelope (EC), simultaneously releasing the opening of the second envelope (E2), as shown in ( figure 5 ). Also, the two seam lines along the longitudinal edges (Bo1) and (Bo2) are concealed in the duvet cover (EC).

As the ( figures 5 and 6 ), the duvet cover (EC) has a large opening over the entire width of the book, which has the effect of facilitating the insertion and positioning of the duvet in its envelope. Thus, it is no longer necessary to fold the duvet to introduce it, a simple sliding flat can be done.

Cela permet d'identifier aisément l'enveloppe de couette (EC), et de faciliter l'introduction et le positionnement de la couette (C).According to the preferred embodiment, the reduction in length of the panel (P1) by a few centimeters, positions the opening of the quilt cover (EC) at a distance (d1) from the lateral edge (Bo3), as shown by FIG. the ( figures 5 and 6 ). This makes it easy to identify the duvet cover (EC), and to facilitate the introduction and positioning of the duvet (C).

Plus précisément, ces replis se situent respectivement, sur la face (1b) du panneau (P1) et sur la face (3a) du panneau (P3).The second envelope (E2), as shown in ( figure 6 ), must be completely turned over in the direction of the arrows (f), so as to lock and wedge the quilt (C) in its envelope. A goal achieved without the use of any expensive and boring system or closure, as shown in ( figure 7 ). At the same time, this last turning operation made accessible the coating envelope (EG) composed of the panels (P1) and (P3), with the folds of the two finishing hems (o1) and (o3) located at the outside of the sleeping envelope (EG) for a better user comfort. More specifically, these folds are respectively on the face (1b) of the panel (P1) and on the face (3a) of the panel (P3).

Thus the invention is in its final position of use.

The sleeping envelope, located under the duvet cover, guarantees the user slipped inside optimal thermal protection by eliminating any risk of loss of heat on the sides, as is usually seen with the use of traditional duvet covers.

The advantages are apparent from the description, in particular:
  • the simplicity of realization: a band of folded fabric and two lines of stitching,
  • the absence of any closing and opening system reported,
  • reduced manufacturing costs,
  • the total confinement of the quilt in its envelope by a simple manipulation of reversal of a second envelope,
  • the reduced size, without flap or other, delimited to the size of the duvet,
  • the guarantee of no longer being discovered in his sleep,
  • the possible use of smaller size duvet with an improved comfort guarantee,
  • by its simplified form and its independent structure, a multiple use other than on a mattress (example: on a sofa, a bench, camping, ...).
