Definitions
- the invention relates to an arrangement for the electrically conductive connection of the conductor surrounded by an insulation of two electrical cables according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- Such arrangements have been known for years and available on the market. They are preferably used in the low voltage range, which applies to electrical voltages of up to 1 kV, increasingly for connecting two electrical cables, of which at least one is not disconnected from the power supply during assembly. For example, in mesh networks or in annular networks, both cables can remain connected to the network.
- a cable connected to the power supply is to be connected to a cable which is not connected to a voltage source, as a representative of the other option.
- Such an operation is used in particular in case of failure, for example, if a leading to a consumer or multiple consumers supply cable is damaged and must be repaired.
- the arrangement can also be used in new installations, if one or more consumers should also be connected to a voltage network or should.
- the described mode of operation has proved itself in recent years in installations in low-voltage networks of public distribution network operators as a safe and efficient working method. It can be avoided by several hours of downtime, during which consumers, especially private households, are without electricity. By carrying out assembly work under voltage and under operating load, the period in which the low-voltage network is not available, especially when repairing damage, can be significantly reduced.
- the fitter When connecting a live cable to a secondary cable, the fitter usually wears insulating gloves and a helmet, if necessary with a visor, in addition to suitable clothing. He also uses isolated tools.
- the arrangements used for such assemblies designed as so-called screw connectors, for example, have a metallic pipe piece into which two cables to be connected can be inserted.
- Such a piece of pipe has in its wall at least two threaded holes - one for each cable - in which mounting screws are screwed in mounting position.
- a plurality of radially inwardly projecting, pointed projections are attached, which pierce the insulation of the cable during assembly and penetrate into the conductor thereof.
- the contact pressure generated by the clamping screws used to set the cable in the pipe section ensures that the current carrying capacity of the screw is guaranteed throughout its life.
- the suitability of such a screw connector must comply with EN 61238-1 with regard to its permanent current carrying capacity.
- the GB 2 348 056 A describes an arrangement for the electrically conductive connection of two power cables, one of which is live. In this case, by using an abruptly released spring, the electrical cable connected to a voltage source is moved very quickly to a cable connected to electrical consumers, until both cables lie against each other at the front. Since the electrically conductive connection between the two cables is produced quickly in this way, only a short arc of a small arc.
- FR 1 312 483 A goes out a component with which a flat conductor can be connected to an already laid insulated round conductor without the round conductor must be interrupted and not stripped. It is used to a tubular connecting element made of copper, which has at one end a recess extending in the axial direction, by means of which it can be plugged onto the running at right angles to its axis circular conductor. A tapered, guided in a threaded bore of the connecting element screw is screwed into the conductive part of the round conductor. The connecting element is then attached to the round conductor. At the other end of the connecting element, a flat conductor is fixed by means of a screw guided in a further threaded bore thereof.
- the invention has the object of developing the above-described arrangement so that damage to the pipe section and in particular a cable to be fastened in the same by an electric arc can be largely excluded.
- the contact screw which can be used in the arrangement according to the invention can be embodied as a simple screw with an external thread or as a so-called shear screw, which has at least one weak point at which a part is torn off when a predeterminable torque is reached when it is tightened.
- the contact screw is shown as a shear screw. It will be considered in the following description, representative of one embodiment without the shearing vulnerability.
- screw 1 hereinafter referred to simply as "screw 1" - has a rotating body 2 carrying an external thread and a head 4 separated from it by a peripheral weak point 3.
- the screw 1 On the end face facing away from the head 4, the screw 1 has a projection protruding in the axial direction 5, whose cross section is small in relation to the cross section of its rotary body 2.
- the central axis 6 of the screw 1 is also center axis of the projection 5, the so when turning the screw 1 is moved only in the axial direction.
- the screw 1 can according to Fig. 2 have in the region of their head 4 a hole 7 with a polygonal cross-section for insertion of a tool.
- the cross section of the bore 7 is advantageously designed as a hexagon.
- the arrangement includes a in Fig. 3 shown in section metallic pipe section 8, which has two threaded holes 9 and 10 in its wall. Inside the pipe section 8, a plurality of radially projecting from its wall tip projections 11 and 12 is attached.
- a connected to a voltage source electrical cable 13 is to be electrically connected to a secondary electric cable 14.
- Both cables are preferably low voltage cables for use with electrical voltages up to 1 kV. They have an arbitrarily constructed electrical conductor, which preferably consists of aluminum and is surrounded by insulation.
- the screw 1 is then rotated with a tool, preferably using an electric screwdriver in the threaded hole 9. It is moved in the direction of the cable 13.
- a tool preferably using an electric screwdriver in the threaded hole 9. It is moved in the direction of the cable 13.
- the approach 5 of the screw 1 penetrates the Insulation 18 of cable 13 ( Fig. 5 ) before entering the ladder 19 ( Fig. 6 ).
- an electric arc is ignited between the two parts, but extinguished upon penetration of the neck 5 in the conductor 19.
- the screw 1 should therefore be rotated as quickly as possible, so that the arc burns only for a very short period of time.
- a cap 20 made of insulating material can advantageously be applied on its front side.
- the cap 20 ensures that upon insertion of the cable 13 in the pipe section 8 no random, electrically conductive contact of the conductor 19 with parts of the pipe section 8 is formed.
- the approach 5 must be carried out relatively low material according to the foregoing, so that it can easily penetrate the insulation 18 of the cable 13 and penetrate into the conductor 19. On the other hand, he should also have enough material so that it is not significantly destroyed by the same when igniting the arc.
- Fig. 1 and 2 can approach 5 cylindrical, be designed with tapered end face. He can according to Fig. 8 overall also have a conical shape. Both forms of Fig. 1 and 8 can according to Fig. 9 be combined with a cone passing into a cylinder. The projection 5 can according to Fig. 10 also be designed as a ring.
- a live cable is connected using the contact screw 1 with a not connected to a voltage source cable.
- described operation of the contact screw 1 also applies when the live first - also fixed with a conventional clamping screw in the pipe section 8 and the second cable is then secured using a contact screw 1 in the pipe section 8.
- the second cable can not be connected to a voltage source. However, it can also be connected to a voltage source.

Description
The invention relates to an arrangement for the electrically conductive connection of the conductor surrounded by an insulation of two electrical cables according to the preamble of
Such arrangements have been known for years and available on the market. They are preferably used in the low voltage range, which applies to electrical voltages of up to 1 kV, increasingly for connecting two electrical cables, of which at least one is not disconnected from the power supply during assembly. For example, in mesh networks or in annular networks, both cables can remain connected to the network. In the following explanations, it is assumed that a cable connected to the power supply is to be connected to a cable which is not connected to a voltage source, as a representative of the other option. Such an operation is used in particular in case of failure, for example, if a leading to a consumer or multiple consumers supply cable is damaged and must be repaired. The arrangement can also be used in new installations, if one or more consumers should also be connected to a voltage network or should.
The described mode of operation has proved itself in recent years in installations in low-voltage networks of public distribution network operators as a safe and efficient working method. It can be avoided by several hours of downtime, during which consumers, especially private households, are without electricity. By carrying out assembly work under voltage and under operating load, the period in which the low-voltage network is not available, especially when repairing damage, can be significantly reduced.
When connecting a live cable to a secondary cable, the fitter usually wears insulating gloves and a helmet, if necessary with a visor, in addition to suitable clothing. He also uses isolated tools. The arrangements used for such assemblies, designed as so-called screw connectors, for example, have a metallic pipe piece into which two cables to be connected can be inserted. Such a piece of pipe has in its wall at least two threaded holes - one for each cable - in which mounting screws are screwed in mounting position. In the interior of the pipe section a plurality of radially inwardly projecting, pointed projections are attached, which pierce the insulation of the cable during assembly and penetrate into the conductor thereof. The contact pressure generated by the clamping screws used to set the cable in the pipe section ensures that the current carrying capacity of the screw is guaranteed throughout its life. The suitability of such a screw connector must comply with EN 61238-1 with regard to its permanent current carrying capacity.
If the live cable is to be fastened in a screw connector in which a secondary cable is already attached, a circuit is closed during its contacting. Accordingly, upon actuation of the clamping screw, with which the live cable is fastened and contacted in the screw connector, an electrical arc is produced at the moment in which at least one of the projections comes into contact with the conductor of the cable. It is therefore a speedy operation of the clamping screw required to avoid a longer-burning arc. This is hardly possible by hand when the clamping screw is actuated. But even the use of an electric screwdriver is in many cases not sufficient to control the arc. Rather, at the moment when the pointed protrusions of the pipe section of the assembly contact the conductor of the cable, often a relatively long-lasting arc occurs. As a result, the insulation of the cable can partially burn, resulting in smoke. This effect occurs because the projection contacting the conductor first is burned off the arc. Then the arc commutes to the next projection and burns off this and subsequent projections. This is also the leader of the cable eroded by the arc. A permanent current carrying capacity of the screw is thereby endangered.
The invention has the object of developing the above-described arrangement so that damage to the pipe section and in particular a cable to be fastened in the same by an electric arc can be largely excluded.
This object is achieved according to the characterizing feature of
When using this arrangement with the specially designed contact screw is formed during assembly of the first contact with the head of a live cable through the contact screw or their approach, when tightening the Contact screw penetrates the insulation of the conductor. The existing in the pipe section pointed projections then have no contact with the head of the cable. At the moment in which the approach of the contact screw contacts the conductor of the cable, ignited thereby closed circuit an arc that burns between the neck and the head. In the further course of the screwing process, the approach penetrates into the conductor and the arc extinguishes. After that reaches the Contact screw with the wide bearing surface of its external thread carrying rotary body the insulated conductor and pushes the same in the direction of the pointed projections of the pipe section, which penetrate the insulation of the cable and penetrate into the conductor thereof. An arc can not be ignited because the cable is already connected by the contact screw electrically conductive with the pipe section. The prescribed for the screw long-term contact is made with it, without parts of the pipe section and the cable are damaged.
