Description

The invention relates to an apparatus for producing mono- or Multiaxialgelegen from slivers with a dispensing device for dispensing and a separator for cutting the slivers, a conveyor for conveying at least one layer of juxtaposed slivers to a solidification device and a transport device for depositing the cut slivers on the conveyor.

Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing mono- or Multiaxialgelegen, in which one takes a sliver of a predetermined length from a dispenser assembly, the sliver severed, deposits the separated sliver next to already deposited slivers on a conveyor and solidifies the adjacent slivers.

In producing a monoaxial scrim, filaments or other thread-like structures are deposited side by side with a large number, so that they form a sheet material. This sheet material is then supplied to a solidification, for example, the active site of a knitting machine to connect the filaments or thread-like structures together. In a Multiaxialgelege this process is complemented by laying several such layers of filaments or thread-like structures with different directions on each other.

To each form a layer of adjacent filaments, it is known to transport the filaments in the desired direction on the conveyor, then perform an offset in the direction of movement of the conveyor and then return the filaments in the opposite direction. This allows an endless laying of the filaments.

However, some materials can not be laid in this way or only under unfavorable conditions. These materials, such as carbon fibers, choose a different route. Band-shaped bands are produced from the filaments or other thread-like structures. To simplify the following explanation, these filament bundles are referred to as "slivers" for short. These slivers are removed from the dispenser assembly, the dispenser assembly can certainly provide a certain capacity.

When such a sliver of a desired length has been removed from the dispenser assembly, it is severed. The thus cut fiber sliver is then placed on the conveyor. The conveyor is moved to make room for the next sliver and the process is repeated.

The principle of mono or multiaxial production with different types of installation is in DE 10 2007 024 124 B3 described.

Also in EP 1 512 784 A1 there is a description of the procedure described.

DE 10 2006 013 063 A1 describes a method and an apparatus for producing textile reinforcements for technical products. Here a sliver is severed, in which a cutting knife is immersed vertically in the sliver. The sliver is then connected to a group of threads and transported along with this group of threads on. Thereafter, the remaining end of the sliver is again connected to the yarn sheet and the yarn sheet is severed by a paper cut. This process is repeated.

US Pat. No. 3,580,783 A describes a method for producing a layer of parallel-aligned, very thin wires. For this purpose, a wire is wound helically around a drum, sprayed with a lacquer layer and then cut with the aid of a knife, which is lowered vertically to the drum. In an alternative Design, the wires can be supplied in parallel. They are laterally pushed together by a pair of rollers and then arranged side by side by a pair of rollers. After applying a varnish and drying, pieces of a predetermined length are cut off. For this purpose, a knife is used, which dips perpendicular to the width direction and the transport direction of the wire coulter in the wire group.

The invention is based, to keep voltage differences during cutting as small as possible the task.

This object is achieved in a device of the type mentioned above in that the separating device has a knife with a cutting edge which is displaceable in the direction of extension of the cutting edge.

With such a knife you can perform a pulling cut, which acts simultaneously on the entire width of the sliver. Thus, in contrast to a scissor-type cut or a cut in which a knife is guided in the width direction through the sliver, there are no areas of the sliver in the width direction, which are still connected, while other areas are already severed. Of course, the cutting edge must have a length which is greater than the width of the sliver. But this is easily possible. The sliver is severed in the direction of its thickness. The thickness of a sliver is much smaller than its width. Accordingly, the cutting can be done in a very short time, so that the risk of voltage differences in the sliver practically no longer exists.

Preferably, the cutting edge is parallel to a plane in which a surface of the slivers lies, in which the cutting edge dips. So you aligns the sliver and the cutting edge relative to each other in parallel, so that the cutting edge in the width direction can fully apply the sliver.

Preferably, the knife is tuned to the slivers so that the slivers are severable by a single movement of the cutting edge. This assumes that the knife has a length which is as much as the width of the slivers, leaving a reserve needed for the cutting motion. Since the separation process is carried out by a movement of the knife in a single direction, no voltage differences can be caused by a reversal of the direction of the knife.

It is preferred that the knife is designed as a rotating knife band. A circumferential knife band can be equipped with a practically infinitely long cutting edge, so that a sufficiently large length is available for the cutting process. The knife band can be driven in a single direction. For this purpose, one can preferably use a rotary drive which acts, for example, on a deflection roller for the knife band. This makes the drive of the knife relatively easy.

Preferably, the knife is associated with a counter-profile, wherein the knife and the counter-profile are movable relative to each other perpendicular to the cutting direction. For example, you can move the counter profile to the knife. The counter profile then presses the sliver on the moving knives so that the sliver is severed.

It is preferred that the counter-profile has a groove into which the knife dips. The groove causes the sliver during the cutting or separating process between the two edges of the groove is kept taut, so to speak. In the short stretched section can then dip the cutting edge of the knife to cut through the sliver.

Preferably, in addition to the mating profile on the side of the conveyor a lowering device is arranged, which presses the sliver in a holding direction on the conveyor. The holding device may for example be designed as in EP 1 512 784 A1 has been described. One can thus combine the attachment process of the rear end of the sliver and the separation process. This has several advantages. First, you need no additional holding device for the rear end of the sliver, so the separation point adjacent end of the cut sliver. On the other hand, there is a time saving when two processes are combined.

Preferably, the lowering and the mating profile are attached to a common bracket. You then only have to move the bracket to let the lowering and the counter-profile act together on the sliver. Preferably, the Absenker and the mating profile are connected to each other via a spring arrangement on the holder and movable relative to each other. With this configuration, you can move not only the lowering and the mating profile together. It is also possible to continue to move the counter profile when the lowering has already come to rest for example on a stop on the conveyor. The spring arrangement here provides a certain amount of movement. On the other hand, it ensures that even with a relative movement of the counterbore and the counter-profile at the end of a movement of the holder, the two counter-profile and lowering elements can again align with one another as desired.

Preferably, an elastically resilient support surface is arranged next to the knife on the side of the dispenser assembly. If the sliver is to be severed, then it can first be compressed on the support surface. When a certain compressive force is reached, then the support surface moves together with the sliver on the knife (or the knife on the sliver). Thus, the thickness of the sliver, which must be cut, reduced and the cutting process can be accelerated.

The object is achieved in a method of the type mentioned above, that leads for cutting a cutting edge of a knife with a pulling cut in the thickness direction through the sliver. Due to the pulling cut, it is possible to sever the sliver over the entire width at the same time, so that no differences in tension can build up or arise within the width of the sliver.

Preferably, the cut is made by moving in a single direction. A change of direction of the cutting edge can then not lead to differences in voltage within the width of the sliver.

Preferably, one carries out the cut with an uninterrupted movement. Thus, the sliver is severed by its thickness with the same conditions, so that also no voltage differences can be entered into the sliver hereby.

It is also advantageous if one presses the sliver in the direction of the knife and at the same time presses the sliver on a holding device on the conveyor. In this case, one can combine the severing of the sliver with the fixing of the sliver on the conveyor. Of course, a certain attachment of the sliver must be achieved on the conveyor before complete transection of the sliver is done. This can be considered but by a coordinated movement on the holding device and on the knife.

It is also preferable if the sliver is compressed during cutting to reduce its thickness. In In this case, the time required to completely cut through the sliver is minimized.

Fig. 1 shows in highly schematic form a device 1 for producing a monoaxial liege with a conveyor having two transport chains 2, 3, which are movable perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. The transport chains 2, 3 have needle assemblies 4, 5, which serve as holding devices. Such needle arrangements are for example in EP 1 512 784 A1 , to which reference is made described. The use of other holding devices is possible.

A sliver 6 is removed from a dispenser assembly 7. The dispenser assembly 7 is shown here as a roll, from which the sliver 6 can be unwound. However, it can also be designed in other ways be, for example, as in DE 10 2005 008 705 B3 shown.

The sliver 6, so a band-shaped filament bundle, which is formed for example of carbon or glass fibers or filaments is removed so far from the dispenser assembly 7 that it can bridge a distance between the transport chains 2, 3. A fiber band section 8 bridging this distance must then be separated from the sliver 6. For this purpose, a separator 9 is provided, which will be explained below.

The separating device 9 has a knife 10, which is designed as a rotating knife band. A leading strand is here the transport chain 2 adjacent. A returning strand 11 is guided away from it.

The knife 10 has a cutting edge 12 which is adjacent to the sliver 6. When the knife 10 is moved, the cutting edge 12 is moved with. Schematically illustrated is a drive 13 for the knife 10. This drive 13 may be designed as a rotary drive and, for example, act on a deflection roller over which the knife band is guided.

For the sake of simplicity, it is assumed below that the separating device 9 is arranged on the "underside" of the sliver 6.

A holder 14 is arranged on the underside opposite the underside of the sliver 6. On the holder 14, a counter-profile 15 is attached. The mating profile 15 is rigidly secured to the bracket 14. Further, a lowering 16 is attached to the holder 14, which is, however, arranged movable relative to the holder 14. The sinker 16 is supported relative to the holder 14 with a compression spring 17.

On the underside of the sliver 6, an elastically resilient support surface 18 is arranged, on which the sliver 6 comes to rest when the holder 14 is moved to the sliver 6 and this movement continues even after the contact of the Absenkers 16 with the sliver 6 , This situation is in Fig. 2 dargstellt. The support surface 18 is pressed by the sliver 6 with downward when the sliver is acted upon by the counter-profile 15. The sliver 6 is then compressed by the interaction of the counter-profile 15 and the support surface 18 in the thickness direction. A sliver 6 of reduced thickness is easier to cut through.

The counter profile 15 has a groove 19 into which the knife 10 can dip when the sliver 6 is severed. The sliver 6 is then stretched over the two flanks or edges of the groove 19, so that the cutting edge 12 of the knife 10 can easily penetrate through the sliver 6.

The device 1 operates as follows:
  • The sliver 6 is gripped with a gripper, not shown, and so far preferred that its front end 20 has been guided so far on the needle assembly 5 on the conveyor chain 3, that it can be pushed into the needle assembly 5. This situation is in Fig. 1 shown.

As soon as this state is reached, the holder 14 is lowered in the direction of the sliver 6. An unillustrated lowering pushes the end 20 into the needle assembly 5 on the conveyor chain 3. The sliver 6 is pressed onto the support surface 18, which deforms under this pressure (also a yielding shift should be referred to here as "deforming"). If the holder 14 continues to move, the sinker 16 may no longer move because it has come to rest on the needle assembly 4. However, this is not critical because the spring 17 can be compressed, so that the counter-profile 15 continues to move toward the knife 10, so that the cutting edge 12 can dip into the groove 19. In this case, the sliver 6 is severed, so that a cut fiber sliver section 8 results.

The not shown, but previously mentioned gripper now engages the still connected to the dispenser assembly 7 end of the sliver 6 and the process begins again.

The severing of the sliver 6 takes place with a pulling cut, wherein the knife 10 is moved only in one direction. The knife 10 is arranged with its cutting edge 12 parallel to the plane of the sliver 6, so that the cutting edge 12 can cut through the sliver 6 over its entire width at the same time. This also applies if the sliver 6 has a greater width, for example, several 100 mm. When severing, therefore, no differently tensioned regions of the sliver 6 in the width direction can result, so that no differences in tension are registered in the sliver 6. In addition, the separation process is relatively quick, because the cutting edge 12 only takes a relatively short time to penetrate the reduced by the compression of the sliver 6 thickness of the sliver 6.

The arrangement of the blade 10 on the underside of the sliver 6 is not mandatory. The knife 10 can also be arranged on the upper side of the sliver 6.

The knife 10 preferably moves parallel to the direction of movement of the transport chains 2, 3. In this case, the material of the sliver 6 is utilized in the best possible way, even if the sliver 6 is at an angle not equal to 90 ° relative to the direction of movement of the transport chains 2, 3 to be led. This direction should also fall under the term "width direction".

But it is also possible to move the knife 10 in a different direction, for example at a right angle to the longitudinal direction of the sliver 6. This would have the advantage that the cutting length is shorter.

Steps have been described for producing a monoaxial bellows. If a Multiaxialgelege to be produced, then a plurality of slivers 6 are placed with different directions relative to the direction of movement of the transport chains 2, 3 each other and the superimposed layers then supplied to the solidification device not shown.
