Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method and apparatus for opening coin rolls, which are formed from a finite number of coins and provided with a sheath made of a material of low tensile strength.
  • the above-mentioned coin rolls are known per se. These are coin stacks with a predetermined number of coins always of the same value and the same geometric dimensions, which are wrapped with a paper wrapping and in which the ends are folded or otherwise closed.
  • Another problem is that performers usually open the coin rolls on a work surface in the form of a desk or countertop, whereby the coins released from the coin rolls form a heap, which must then be placed in a transport container to ensure further processing of the coins , This also increases the labor costs.
  • the described aid is only advantageous in that an edge is provided, over which a coin roll can be bent.
  • the required manual force is not reduced.
  • the described device merely replaces any other edge, such as a table edge.
  • a further disadvantage is that the base of the device described causes a wide dispersion of the emptying coins. Another disadvantage is that the disc-shaped component promotes the risk of lateral slipping of the coin roll and no precautions are provided.
  • This method has significant disadvantages. It must be found a balance of power between the holding device, the packaging wrapper and the wrapped coins of the shape that the holding device on the one hand holds only the packaging casing while the stack of coins to move out of the packaging casing. Even minor changes in the friction conditions due to wear, deformed coins, changes in paper texture and the like can cause that no successful emptying of the coin rolls is possible.
  • the most significant disadvantage is that for each diameter of a roll of coins own holding device and under certain circumstances, a separate stamp must be provided. It follows that when changing the diameter of the coin rolls considerable expenses for the conversion of such a device must be made.
  • a proposal in DE 200 21 189 U1 provides to bring to opening coin rolls of no longer marketable coins in a drum having inside the drum so designated shell breaker elements.
  • the shell breaker elements should always be aligned in the direction of the drum axis.
  • the process for opening the coin rolls introduced into the drum then proceeds in such a way that the shell break-up elements take the intermediate coin rolls with their rotational movement so far upwards that they come to a labile state of equilibrium and fall down.
  • the coin rolls should then hit the faces of the shell breaker elements and the dead weight of the coin rolls should lead to break it up. Damage to the coins is not excluded here.
  • the main problem is to find a balance between drop height and weight of the coin rolls, so that they break up at all. Since coins of different sizes are usually in use and an opening success has to be achieved even with smaller and lighter coin stacks, there is a risk of damage for coins with larger coins.
  • Another disadvantage is the fact that the falling of the coin rolls on the height of fall, location when hitting and position of the shell breaker elements not predictable and therefore the probability of breaking the Coin rolls is significantly reduced.
  • the result is that the corresponding facilities are designed to be large and the residence time of the coin rolls or coins is correspondingly large. As a result, such devices are inapplicable to facilities with less revenue to open coin rolls. Further, the moving and falling coin rolls as well as the coins in the drum produce an unacceptable level of noise.
  • This object is achieved by a method according to the features of the characterizing part of claim 1 in conjunction with the features of the preamble of this claim.
  • the method according to the invention is based on the fact that the coin rolls to be opened consist of a stack with a finite number of coins and an envelope enveloping this stack and are inherently stable in this combination. Such kind of coin rolls are manageable and especially rollable items.
  • At least one coin roll by at least one force acting on the circumference of the same and in interaction with holding means of becomes.
  • the device required for carrying out the method according to the invention is constructed such that it enables the above-described method steps.
  • First and second supports are preferably arranged at a distance such that they can support the usually processed coin rolls approximately in the region of the roll ends.
  • First and any further supports can be material-integral part of a base plate.
  • Both supports can also be arranged on movable bodies, in which case a separation between a separating position for the coin rolls and the working position at which the breaking is provided, is provided.
  • a first 2 and a second support 3 are arranged on a base plate 1 .
  • a coin roll 4 is arranged with their ends 5 and 6 .
  • a force 7 acts from above on the coin roll 4 a.
  • Exceeds the force 7 a certain amount forms on the bottom 8 of the coin roll 4 a state of tension, the tensile stress is greater than the tensile strength of the envelope 9 of the coin roll 4 .
  • the envelope 9 ruptures on the underside 8 of the coin roll 4 , wherein the existing stress state dissolves and at the same time the envelope 9 is largely destroyed.
  • Coins 10 contained in the coin roll 4 are emptied after breaking the envelope 9 due to their own weight.
  • First 2 and second supports 3 are designed with an edged edge in order to avoid damage to the coins 10 contained in the coin roll 4 . The same applies to the force 7 in the coin roll 4 introductory stamp.
  • a recess 11 may be arranged below the coin roll 4 through which the coins fall. These can be collected by an arbitrary container arranged underneath.
  • the method according to the invention can be varied in various ways.
  • a recess may be provided in the bottom of the device so that the coins fall into a container disposed thereunder.
  • the coin roll can be moved with the supports on fixed elements that break up the coin rolls, or vice versa, the breaker elements are moved towards the quiescent roll of coins.
  • the direction of the counteracting forces relative to the perpendicular can vary.
  • the method can be designed so that the coin roll over its length has several areas in which it undergoes a bending stress by interaction between supports and stamps. It is advantageous that without additional measures in a device coin rolls of different lengths can be broken and in the implementation of the method always at least a portion of the deflection of the coin roll, but preferably at least 2 areas occur.
  • the multiple arrangement of regions of bending stress in a single coin roll also has the advantage that the bending stress is further displaced into the end regions of the coin roll to be broken. In this way, it is ensured that in the end regions of the wrapper after breaking up still contained coins are removed by the forces introduced and thus takes place a complete emptying of the coin rolls. Further, it is for breaking up The coin roll required bending less, so that the envelope of the broken coin rolls with high probability remains in one piece. As a result, a separation between the remnants of the wrappings and the emptied coins is much easier.
  • a preferred embodiment of the method provides per se known elements for feeding and separating the coin rolls, wherein the respectively to be broken up coin roll is in a singling position, in which it can be taken over by working organs of a device.
  • a further embodiment of the method can provide that the separating position is at the same time the working position.
  • a further preferred embodiment of the method is to separate the last separating position and the working position from each other.
  • the separated coin roll is conveyed from the singling position to the working position, wherein the used conveying device generally already has two or more supports, while in the working position the breaking up takes place only with the aid of one or more punches.
  • the transport element can convey the coin roll linearly or along a movement path.
  • the movement can be continuous, circulating or oscillating.
  • the transport element may be arranged in the form of discs or arms on a shaft which carries isolated coin rolls on a circular path to the working position.
  • the punches can be designed so that their active surface describes an arc shape that steadily approaches the path of the transported coin rolls and finally cuts through them. This ensures that the coin rolls, after they have come into contact with the stamp, can break when the minimum force is reached and so the burden, in particular the coins is kept low. By the appropriate arrangement all sizes of coin stacks can be edited with the same process design at the same time.
  • the coating material can also have a low friction effect and thus reduce the energy consumption of the device.
  • a further embodiment of the device provides one or more stationary punches, which have an arcuate contour in the contact region.
  • the punches are arranged to cooperate with a conveyor which conveys the coin rolls on a path of travel to the workstation.
  • the arcuate contour of the punch thereby cuts the path of movement of the coin rolls, resulting in a steadily decreasing gap. This makes it possible to break coin rolls of different diameters in the same device. In this case, only varies the contact area between the circumference of the coin roll and the contour line of the punch.
  • the stamp or stamps can also be arranged to be movable with a suitable design of the device, wherein a linear, circular or a movement on a curved path with the aid of the prior art known drive means is possible.
  • a further preferred embodiment of the device arises when the separating and the working position are identical. Then, without moving the coin roll, it can be broken open with one or more movable punches, which can also be roll punches, in the singling position of a feeder.
  • Such type devices in which the method according to the invention is used, can be constructed with little effort, low costs and without requiring much space. This makes it possible to inexpensively provide small-sized devices that operate with high productivity.
  • a first 2 and a second support 3 are arranged on a base plate 1.
  • a coin roll 4 is arranged with their ends 5 and 6.
  • a force 7 acts from above on the coin roll 4 a.
  • Exceeds the force 7 a certain amount forms on the bottom 8 of the coin roll 4 a state of tension, the tensile stress is greater than the tensile strength of the envelope 9 of the coin roll 4.
  • the envelope 9 ruptures on the underside 8 of the coin roll 4, wherein the existing stress state dissolves and at the same time the envelope 9 is largely destroyed.
  • Coins 10 contained in the coin roll 4 are emptied after blasting the envelope 9 due to their own weight.
  • a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention provides, as described above, to position a coin roll 21 on a first 22 and a second support 23 as known.
  • the supports 22 and 23 are no longer disposed in the region of the ends 25 and 26 of the coin roll 21, but shifted by an amount toward the center of the coin roll 21.
  • a first force 24 attacks approximately centrally of the coin roll 21 to this and causes a deflection of the same.
  • a second 27 and a third force 28 additionally act in the region of the ends of the coin roll 21, the coin roll being bent twice. It is also possible to provide even more bends over shorter distances.
  • the second 27 and the third force 28 engage in the region of the ends 25 and 26 of the coin roll 21 to the same, so that there a greater deflection or a greater displacement of the coins can be achieved in the coin roll 21. This makes it possible to ensure a tearing of the envelope of the coin roll 21 into the end regions and in this way to achieve a complete emptying of all contained coins.
  • the tearing of the coin roll is already achieved with smaller deflections in terms of amount and thus limits the destruction of the envelope in such a way that it remains predominantly integral and yet all coins contained in the coin roll 21 are emptied.
  • the first 22 and the second support 23 are designed so that they are truncated in their contact areas 29 and 30, to avoid mechanical damage to the coins.
  • the invention thus has the advantage that it makes it possible to break up the casings of coin rolls quickly and easily and thus to make the construction of simple, highly efficient and cost-effective devices for carrying out the method possible.
