Abstract

- Produit liquide à base de chlorhydrate d'urée pour l'élimination de sels de calcium insolubles - Selon l'invention, ledit produit comporte un acide organique faible de masse molaire au plus égale à 80g et en ce que la proportion molaire dudit acide organique faible par rapport au chlorhydrate d'urée est comprise entre 1 :10 et 1 :20.

Description

  • La présente invention concerne un produit liquide pour l'élimination de sels de calcium insolubles, tels que le carbonate de calcium. Plus particulièrement, le produit conforme à la présente invention est destiné au décapage de surfaces de béton, de surfaces métalliques ou autres pour en éliminer les résidus et efflorescences de béton ou de ciment qu'elles portent.
  • On sait que, pour éliminer de tels résidus et efflorescences, on peut utiliser un acide fort, comme l'acide chlorhydrique ou l'acide phosphorique. Cependant, l'utilisation de tels acides forts est délicat et dangereux pour les opérateurs, notamment du fait de leur corrosivité et des vapeurs qu'ils émettent. De plus, ces acides forts attaquent non seulement lesdits résidus, mais également les surfaces qui les portent, ce qui les rend inutilisables pour le décapage de surfaces métalliques et rend leur utilisation difficile pour le décapage d'autres surfaces, y compris des surfaces de béton.
  • Pour remédier à ces inconvénients, il a été proposé, par exemple par les documents US 5 672 279 et US 2006/0063689 , de remplacer de tels acides forts par du chlorhydrate d'urée, peu corrosif. Toutefois, à cause de ce caractère peu corrosif, la qualité du décapage obtenu n'est pas optimale et le temps de décapage est relativement long.
  • La présente invention a pour objet d'améliorer la qualité et de réduire le temps du décapage à l'aide des produits à base de chlorhydrate d'urée.
  • A cette fin, selon l'invention, le produit liquide à base de chlorhydrate d'urée pour l'élimination de sels de calcium insolubles est remarquable en ce qu'il comporte un acide organique faible de masse molaire au plus égale à 80g et en ce que la proportion molaire dudit acide organique faible par rapport au chlorhydrate d'urée est comprise entre 1 : 10 et 1 :20.
  • De façon usuelle, par « acide faible », on désigne un acide dont la constante de dissociation en solution est seulement de l'ordre de quelques pour-cents.
  • Ainsi, l'addition d'une faible proportion d'un acide faible au chlorhydrate d'urée n'augmente pas la corrosivité du produit. De plus, le Demandeur a trouvé que si l'acide faible utilisé est du type organique, que si la masse molaire de cet acide organique est petite (au plus égale à 80g) et que si le rapport molaire entre ledit acide organique faible et le chlorhydrate d'urée est petit (entre 1 :10 et 1 :20), l'addition dudit acide faible au chlorhydrate d'urée permet d'augmenter de façon significative l'action de décapage de ce dernier et de réduire le temps d'élimination des résidus de béton et de ciment. En d'autres termes, le Demandeur a trouvé que, dans certaines conditions, il existe un effet de synergie entre le chlorhydrate d'urée et l'acide organique faible.
  • Pour expliquer cette synergie, le Demandeur pense que la faible corrosivité et la faible masse de l'acide organique utilisé permettent à celui-ci de pénétrer en profondeur les résidus de béton et de ciment sans réagir immédiatement avec eux, mais en entraînant le chlorhydrate d'urée. Ainsi, ce dernier est amené profondément à l'intérieur desdits résidus et peut exercer, en coopération avec ledit acide organique faible, un effet déstructurant desdits résidus depuis le coeur de ceux-ci.
  • La validité de la présente invention n'est évidemment pas liée à celle de l'explication donnée ci-dessus à titre de simple hypothèse.
  • Toutefois, cette explication hypothétique est confortée par le fait que, si on remplace la petite proportion d'acide organique faible et de petite masse molaire par une proportion aussi petite d'un acide minéral de même petite masse molaire, on n'obtient pas l'effet de synergie désiré : tout se passe comme si cet acide minéral réagissait trop vite, en créant une attaque de surface sans pénétration efficace des résidus de béton ou de ciment apte à entraîner le chlorhydrate d'urée. De même, si la petite proportion d'acide organique faible et de petite masse molaire est remplacée par une proportion aussi petite d'un acide organique faible de masse molaire importante (supérieure à 80g), on n'obtient pas non plus l'effet de synergie, vraisemblablement à cause d'une difficulté de pénétration à l'intérieur desdits résidus, ce qui produit une attaque superficielle immédiate, sans entraînement du chlorhydrate d'urée à l'intérieur desdits résidus.
  • De préférence, ledit acide organique faible est l'acide glycolique et le rapport molaire de l'acide glycolique au chlorhydrate d'urée est au moins approximativement égal à 1 : 15.
  • Le produit selon l'invention se présente avantageusement sous la forme d'une solution aqueuse. Cent grammes de cette solution aqueuse comportent alors au moins approximativement 40g de chlorhydrate d'urée et 2g d'acide glycolique.
  • La tension superficielle du produit peut être réglée par un agent tensioactif, tandis qu'il est avantageux d'incorporer audit produit un inhibiteur de corrosion, surtout si le produit est destiné au décapage d'objets métalliques.
  • Ainsi, de ce qui précède, on constate que la présente invention concerne un produit de décapage efficace et non corrosif, apte à éliminer des résidus, des efflorescences ou des amas de béton ou de ciment accrochés à toutes sortes de surfaces, et particulièrement des surfaces de béton et des surfaces métalliques. Le produit de l'invention peut donc être utilisé, en toute sécurité par les opérateurs et sans dommage pour les surfaces à décaper, pour décaper les constructions en béton, ainsi que les outils et équipements utilisés pour ces constructions. Le produit selon l'invention peut même être utilisé pour décaper des surfaces recouvertes de peinture, sans pour autant endommager celle-ci.

Claims (6)

  1. Produit liquide à base de chlorhydrate d'urée pour l'élimination de sels de calcium insolubles,
    caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte un acide organique faible de masse molaire au plus égale à 80g et en ce que la proportion molaire dudit acide organique faible par rapport au chlorhydrate d'urée est comprise entre 1 :10 et 1 :20.
  2. Produit selon la revendication 1,
    caractérisé en ce que ledit acide organique faible est l'acide glycolique.
  3. Produit selon la revendication 2,
    caractérisé en ce que le rapport molaire de l'acide glycolique au chlorhydrate d'urée est au moins approximativement égal à 1 :15.
  4. Produit selon la revendication 3,
    caractérisé en ce qu'il se présente sous la forme d'une solution aqueuse dont 100g comportent au moins approximativement 40g de chlorhydrate d'urée et 2g d'acide glycolique.
  5. Produit selon l'une des revendications 1 à 4,
    caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte un inhibiteur de corrosion.
  6. Produit selon l'une des revendications 1 à 5,
    caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte un agent tensioactif.
