Definitions

  • the present invention generally relates to a vacuum nozzle whose sole is connected to the connection to the butt by a connecting rod.
  • suction nozzles whose sole is hinged to fit the raised elements disposed on the floor to be cleaned.
  • the document EP0304609 describes a suction nozzle whose sole is rotatably connected to a pad, itself connected to the suction grip by connecting rods.
  • This mechanism makes it possible to cause the suction pad to tilt in one direction or the other when the nozzle is pushed or pulled by the user.
  • This tilting has the disadvantage of causing air leakage on the raised side, decreasing the vacuum in the suction channel, which affects the effectiveness of scraping if the floor is carpeted because the vacuum force that plates the ground sole is diminished.
  • Scraping is understood to mean the mechanical action of the sole on the hairs of the textile floor to be cleaned.
  • the document EP0125994 also has a suction nozzle whose suction sole is articulated with respect to a tilting nozzle.
  • the nozzle also comprises a roller or a support pad which takes the efforts of the user forward and which limits the toggle effect of the sole.
  • the roller or the skate have no effect and nothing prevents the sole from tilting, so that an air leak is caused on the lifting side, limiting the plating force to soil and thus the effectiveness of scratching. This can happen if the user only pulls the butt with one hand or can even be amplified if the latter holds the stock with both hands and applies a force to the back to shoot and a downward effort to press the roller on the ground.
  • a user-actuable lock is provided between the sole and the tilting nozzle.
  • Such a device is complicated to achieve because this mechanism has several parts to assemble. Moreover, this device is detrimental to the ergonomics of the complete device because the user must himself control the lock if he finds that the suction is not optimal in reverse.
  • the latch once engaged, removes any degree of freedom to the sole and it loses its articulated nature and can no longer adapt to the irregularities of the ground in the forward direction. The user, at the limit, must lock the sole in reverse and unlock forward, which is particularly tedious because it must be done every round trip.
  • An object of the present invention is to meet the disadvantages of the documents of the prior art mentioned above and in particular, first of all, to propose a simple construction nozzle having an articulated soleplate allowing use in forward motion or in reverse without air leakage under the soleplate that may affect the suction efficiency.
  • a first aspect of the invention relates to a suction nozzle comprising a soleplate connected in rotation by a connecting rod to a connecting piece towards the vacuum cleaner, at least one support wheel on the ground mounted on the connecting rod, the soleplate having at least one floor suction channel defined at the front and rear by scraping edges, characterized in that the sole, behind the scraping edges, further comprises stop means on the ground limiting the rotation of the sole around the connecting rod during the rearward movements of the vacuum nozzle and in that the stop means are arranged to allow the passage of air to the rear edge of scraping.
  • the invention thus allows effective suction in reverse because, thanks to the abutment means, inadvertent tilting of the sole is limited, which avoids losing the suction efficiency with air leaks.
  • the tilting is limited because the stop means are arranged directly on the flange. Finally, the tilting is limited only when moving back, the sole completely retains its ability to movement to adapt to irregularities in the forward direction and can adapt to small irregularities when moving in reverse. Still with a view to not adversely affect the suction efficiency, the abutment means according to the invention are arranged so as not to compromise the flow of air sucked to the rear scraping edge.
  • the scraping edges define a scraping plane
  • the stop means form a raised bearing surface with respect to the scraping plane and separated from the rear scraping edge by an air passage.
  • the stop means define a second plane which forms with the first plane an angle whose apex is the rear scraping edge.
  • the width of the air passage between the rear scraping edge and the abutment means is at least equal to 5% of the length of the suction channel.
  • the stop means must not disturb the air flow to the rear scraping edge and it must be provided at least this value to allow the air to circulate freely. The Applicant has found that this value represents the right compromise to meet the requirements of fluid mechanics (speed, flow characteristic, pressure drop) and geometric constraints total space of the sole of the nozzle.
  • a particularly interesting embodiment is that the abutment means are formed by two bearing surfaces arranged at each end of the nozzle and at the rear of the scraping edges, connected by a link. This gives a stable system because the two supports on the ground are distant from each other.
  • connection of the sole of the bearing surfaces comprises air passages to the rear scraping rule. These air passages are added to the groove arranged between the rear scraping edge and the abutment means.
  • connection of the soleplate between the two bearing surfaces is raised relative to the bearing surfaces to allow the air sucked by the nozzle to pass to the rear scraping edge.
  • this recess ensures that the air is correctly sucked all along the rear scraping edge.
  • the contours of the bearing surface are chamfered and / or radiated. This limits the resistance to movement when the abutment means are in contact with the ground during a movement of the nozzle in reverse.
  • a second aspect of the invention is a vacuum cleaner comprising at least one nozzle according to the first aspect of the invention.
  • the figure 1 is a suction nozzle 100 having a suction pad 10 rotatably connected to a connector 40 to the butt (not shown) via a rod 20 and a hose 30.
  • the sole 10 has a slot (or channel) suction 13 delimited at the front and rear by scraping rules. Each scraping rule consists essentially of a scraping edge connected to a leading chamfer.
  • the connecting rod 20 comprises at least one ground support roller 50 which rotates about an axis 23.
  • the soleplate can rotate about the axis of rotation 21 of the connecting rod and the rod can also turn in rotation around the axis of rotation 22 which connects it to the coupling 40.
  • the hinged soleplate 10, thus made floating relative to the connector 40 can easily adapt to the unevenness of the ground 200, making the cleaning task easier, despite the plating force on the sole 10 created by the vacuum suction over the entire surface of the suction channel 13.
  • the roller 50 takes up the vertical forces transmitted by the user and only the horizontal forces are transmitted to the sole 10, so that it can overcome obstacles without blocking or tilting or arching due to the vertical forces of the user.
  • two scraping edges 11 and 12 of the suction channel 13 remain in contact with the ground 200, ensuring suction without inadvertent leakage in the suction channel, which allows effective cleaning.
  • the figure 2 represents the squeegee 100 during a movement in reverse when the user holds the stock at a standard height (ie 800 mm from the ground) and predetermined: the wheel 50 is lifted from the ground and the positioning of the axis 21 relative the suction channel 13 in this case ensures that the direction of the force applied by the rod 20 on the sole 10, in combination with the plating force created by the suction vacuum, does not cause inadvertent tilting of the sole 10, which would have the effect of creating an air leak causing a decrease in the depression, so the plating force and scraping efficiency.
  • a standard height ie 800 mm from the ground
  • the wheel 50 is lifted from the ground and the positioning of the axis 21 relative the suction channel 13 in this case ensures that the direction of the force applied by the rod 20 on the sole 10, in combination with the plating force created by the suction vacuum, does not cause inadvertent tilting of the sole 10, which would have the effect of creating an air leak causing a decrease in the depression, so the plating
  • the figure 3 represents in detail the sole 10 when the squeegee is pushed forward or is pulled backwards under the standard conditions of the figure 2 .
  • the sole 10 is in contact with the ground 200 by the two scraping edges 11 and 12, which ensures that there is no untimely air leakage, so that the suction efficiency is optimal.
  • a bearing surface 15 In order not to disturb the operation under these normal conditions of use, a bearing surface 15 must not touch the ground and for this purpose it is raised above the ground by at least a distance d1.
  • the bearing surface 15 is also inclined relative to the ground 200, or to the scraping plane which contains the two scraping edges 11 and 12.
  • the inclination with respect to the scraping plane is chosen so that the plane containing the surface 15 includes the lowest point of the rear scraping portion, that is to say the rear scraping edge 12.
  • the reason for choosing the angle ⁇ according to this criterion will be explained in paragraph relating to figure 4 .
  • the figure 4 represents the sole 10 when the nozzle 100 is moved backwards, outside the standardized conditions of the figure 2 .
  • the user pulls back the nozzle 100 but simultaneously exerts on the nozzle a vertical effort down.
  • the architecture of the nozzle then causes on the sole 10 a reversal torque and it could have the effect of taking off from the ground 200 the edge before scratching 11.
  • the surface support 15 comes into contact with the ground 200 and limits the tilting of the soleplate 10 to a maximum pivoting.
  • the front scraping edge 11 can not lift higher than this maximum pivoting as shown in FIG. figure 4 , limiting the flow of the air leak under the front edge 11.
  • the bearing surface 15 is aligned with the lowest point of the rear scraping rule, namely the rear scraping edge 12. It follows that the bearing surface 15 forms with the plane of scraping an angle ⁇ whose vertex is the rear scraping edge 12.
  • edges of the bearing surface 15 are radiated or chamfered, always with the aim of limiting the forces opposing the displacement of the nozzle 100.
