The invention relates to a laundry drum for a tumble dryer or a tumble dryer with such a laundry drum according to the preamble of the independent claims.

Hintergrundbackground

A clothes dryer has a laundry drum with a filling opening, through which wet laundry can be introduced into the laundry drum. A process air stream enters the laundry drum through air openings in a wall of the laundry drum, absorbs moisture from the laundry and leaves the laundry drum through air channels. During the drying phase, the filling opening is closed by a door and the washing drum rotates in one direction or alternately in both directions (reversing).

However, conventional laundry drums have the disadvantage that in particular the air openings lead to flow losses and / or turbulence in the process air flow and thus to higher energy consumption and greater noise emissions.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

It is against this background the task of providing an improved laundry drum for a tumble dryer or a tumble dryer with such a laundry drum. This object is achieved by the devices according to the independent claims.

According to the invention, a laundry drum for a tumble dryer has a drum interior for receiving laundry to be dried. Furthermore, the laundry drum comprises a wall which delimits the drum interior from a drum outer space (on the outside of the drum, in the housing of the tumble dryer). This wall of the laundry drum in this case has a plurality of air openings (for example, with diameters of 10-12 mm), through which a process air stream for drying the laundry from the outside of the drum can be guided into the interior of the drum. The wall of the laundry drum further has to improve the flow characteristics of the process air flow at least between two of the air openings - in a preferred development between all air openings - a the Trommelaussenraum facing flat or convex surface. In other words, no or at least no such depressions are to be found in the region outside the drum, which lead to undesirable turbulences of the process air flow, in particular during its passage through the air openings.

In addition, in a preferred embodiment, a cross-section (ie diameter) of at least one of the air openings - in a preferred development of all air openings - decreases at least in a section from the outside of the drum to the interior of the drum. The term "section" is to be understood in this context as part of the air opening from the drum outer space to the drum interior. This reduction of the cross-section of the air opening (s) at least in one section can be made stepwise or continuously, eg the air openings can be funnel-shaped towards the interior of the drum. By this measure or measures, a further improvement of the flow behavior of the process air flow is achieved, whereby smaller process air fans can be used and / or energy savings are made possible and a reduction in noise emissions.

The laundry drum comprises a cylinder jacket and a filling opening. In this case, in a preferred embodiment, the wall and the filling opening are arranged on opposite end faces of the cylinder jacket. Thus, a running through the laundry drum process air flow can be ensured by the process air flow, for. enters the laundry drum through the wall at one end face of the laundry drum and leaves it again through the opposite filling opening.

In a first laundry drum according to the invention, the laundry drum is at least partially made of punched sheet metal. In doing so, e.g. a continuous stainless steel sheet blank (still without air openings) punched from the later interior of the drum ago against the later Trommelaussenraum, whereby the air openings are produced in the sheet metal. The wall then has in the Trommelaussenraum directed and encircling the air openings collars. Thus, the later drum interior of the wall can be kept free from sharp edges which could damage the laundry during drying or rotation of the laundry drum. Nevertheless, a simpler and more cost-effective production of the wall with the air openings is made possible.

Preferably, at least one of these collars - preferably all collars - in the Trommelaussenraum inlet contours, which in a simpler way (sections) reduction of the cross section of the air opening (s) can be generated to the drum interior out.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, at least one of the collars - preferably all collars - thereby a flanging, in particular a flange with a radius smaller than 4 mm. In other words, the collars are bent away from the center of the air opening "outwards", ie drum outside again in the direction of the wall. Thus, only one production step for producing the air openings with inlet contours is necessary.

In the first laundry drum according to the invention, there is an intermediate volume between at least two of the collars, preferably between all collars, in the outer space of the drum with a material, e.g. a foreign material, filled out. Thus, in a simpler manner, a flat or convex surface of the wall facing the outer wall of the drum can be produced. The term "intermediate volume" in this context is understood to mean the volume of the air openings between the air openings opposite the air openings of the collars and against the drum interior of the wall between the air openings, which in the drum outer space at least up to an extension of the collars in the Trommelaussenraum (ie until expansion of the collars in the z-direction or even beyond, see below) is filled with the material.

In a preferred embodiment, the intermediate volume can be poured out after the punching of a sheet metal blank with the production of collars (with or without crimping), for example with a hardening resin or another potting compound. In this way, as described, in a simpler manner, a plane or convex surface of the wall facing the outer wall of the drum can be generated, which leads to an improvement in the flow conditions for the process air flow.

In a second laundry drum according to the invention, the wall of the laundry drum comprises at least two individual parts, at least in one partial area. The two parts can be made of the same material (eg two stamped parts made of stainless steel) or different materials (eg drum inside a stamped part made of stainless steel and drum outside a plastic part). In the second washing drum according to the invention, the two individual parts of the wall are mirror-image stamped parts, each with collars surrounding the air openings. The two items of the Wall are then combined with each other so that end faces of the collars of the items are arranged facing each other. In other words, the collars of the drum inside side item are oriented towards the drum outer side and the collars of the drum outer side item are oriented towards the drum inside. The faces of the collars face each other. Thus, a wall can be produced with a flat surface facing the outer wall of the drum, which leads to an improvement of the flow conditions for the process air flow.

In a third laundry drum according to the invention, the wall comprises, at least in a partial region, a first individual part and a second individual part. In this case, both the first item as well as the second item each have at least one circumferential to an air opening collar. At least one collar - preferably all collars - the first item is in each case assigned a collar of the second item of the wall. In each case a collar of the first item and the associated collar of the second item thus form a pair of collars, which rotates about the respective common air opening of the wall after assembly of the items. In such a pair of collars, the collar of the first item inside collar (ie pointing to the respective air opening) a larger or maximally the same diameter (inner diameter) than the respective associated collar of the second item outside the collar (ie pointing away from the air opening, outside diameter). The two individual parts are then assembled to the wall, that at least one pair of collars - preferably all pairs of collars - "is arranged inside each other" or the collars in a direction of the air flow different degrees, ie at least in a section, "overlap". In other words, the collar of the first item is at least in a section not directly facing the respective air opening, as seen from it collar inside (ie pointing to the respective air opening indicative) of the associated collar of the second item of the wall is arranged, which faces the actual air opening directly. Thus, the air openings can be enclosed in a simpler way by the / the pair of collars (e).

A clothes dryer, in particular a heat pump dryer, with one of the laundry drums described above benefits from an improved process air flow in the area of the air openings on the laundry drum. Thus, an energy saving and / or reduction of the noise level is possible.

Wege zur Ausführung der ErfindungWays to carry out the invention

The FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a laundry drum 10 with a cylinder jacket 14, a filling opening 15 and with a wall 20 in which a plurality of air openings 21 for carrying a process air stream 13 from a Trommelaussenraum 12 (a volume in a housing of the tumble dryer outside the laundry drum 10) in a drum interior 11 (a volume within the laundry drum 10, in which the laundry 2 to be dried is received) is arranged. The wall 20 and the filling opening 15 are arranged on opposite end faces of the cylinder jacket 14 of the laundry drum 10. Thus, a running through the laundry drum process air stream 13 can be ensured by the process air stream 13 through the wall 20 at one end face (here: back) of the laundry drum 10 enters the laundry drum 10 and this leaves through the opposite filling opening 15 (here: at the front of the laundry drum 10, along minus z) again.

The FIG. 2 shows a sectional view in the xz-plane through a portion of a wall 20 of an unclaimed laundry drum 10. The process air stream 13 flows along the minus z-axis through the air openings 21 from the drum outlet 12 into the drum interior 11 (indicated by the black arrows). In this case, around the air openings 21 encircling collars 23 of the wall 20 are visible, which limit the air openings 21 laterally (ie along x and y). By "bending back" collar material outwards (ie away from the center of the air openings 21 and along the minus-z axis), flanges 25 are formed on the collars 23. These flanges 25 have bending radii of less than 4 mm. Thus, the lateral air opening diameter d is not constant in the axial direction (along z), but decreases in a portion from the drum outer space 12 to the drum inner space 11. In other words, the collars 23 inlet contours 24. By this measure, the flow conditions for the process air stream 13 can be further improved.

The FIG. 3 shows a sectional view in the xz-plane through a part of the wall 20 from FIG. 1 According to a first inventive embodiment of the laundry drum 10. As in the FIG. 2 the process air stream 13 flows along the minus-z-axis through the air openings 21 from the drum outer space 12 into the drum interior 11 (indicated by the black arrows). In this case, collars 23 of the air openings 21 are visible, which limit the air openings 21 laterally (along x or y). These collars 23 laterally enclose an intermediate volume 26 between the air openings 21 in the drum outer space 12. In the z-direction, the intermediate volume 26 on the side toward the drum interior 11 is the wall material limited between the air openings. The intermediate volume 26 is filled to the extent of the collars 23 in the z-direction (or even beyond) with a foreign material 27, for example with a potting compound or a resin which is cured. Thus, a flat or convex surface A of the wall 20 facing the outer wall 12 of the drum is achieved. In this way, the flow conditions for the process air stream 13 can be improved.

The FIG. 4 shows a sectional view in the xz-plane through a part of the wall 20 from FIG. 1 According to a second embodiment of the laundry drum 10 according to the invention. As in FIGS Figures 2 and 3 the process air stream 13 flows along the minus-z-axis through the air openings 21 from the drum outer space 12 into the drum interior 11 (indicated by the black arrows). Notwithstanding the first embodiment of the laundry drum 10, the wall 20 in the second embodiment comprises two individual parts 20a and 20b, which are arranged one behind the other in the z-direction. The two individual parts 20a and 20b of the wall 20 are mirror-image stamped parts with encircling around the air openings 21 collars 23, which, however, have no flanging in this embodiment. The end faces 23a, 23b of the collars 23 of the two individual parts 20a, 20b are oriented against each other. In other words, the mirror-image items 20a and 20b are oriented against each other and thus form the wall 20, which has a facing against the Trommelaussenraum 12 flat surface A. In this way, the flow conditions for the process air stream 13 can be improved.

The FIG. 5 shows a clothes dryer 1 with a laundry drum 10 according to the invention, which has a wall 20 with a plurality of air openings 21, through which a process air stream 13 for drying the laundry 2 from the Trommelaussenraum 12 forth in the drum interior 11 can be guided. The wall 20 has a the Drum outer space 12 facing flat surface A between at least two air openings 21 and the cross-section d at least one of the air openings 21 is reduced from the drum outer space 12 to the drum interior 11.

The FIG. 6 shows a sectional view through a part of the wall 20 from FIG. 1 According to a third embodiment of the washing drum 10 according to the invention, the third embodiment combines the curls 25 on the collars 23 FIG. 2 which lead to inlet contours 24 of the collars 23, with the filled intermediate volume 26 between the air openings 21 in the drum outer space 12 from the first embodiment according to FIG. 3 , Thus, the wall 20 of the laundry drum 10 according to the third embodiment, both a the Trommelaussenraum 12 facing flat or convex surface A and in a portion of the Trommelaussenraum 12 to the drum interior 11 toward reducing cross-section d of the air openings 21. Thus, the flow conditions for the process air flow are improved.

The FIG. 7 shows a sectional view through a part of the wall 20 from FIG. 1 According to a fourth embodiment of the laundry drum 10 according to the invention, the wall 20 comprises two individual parts 20a (inside the drum, ie oriented towards the drum interior 11) and 20b (outside the drum, ie oriented towards the drum outer space 12). Both individual parts 20a, 20b (punched parts) have encircling collars 23c, 23d around the air openings 21. In this case, each collar 23c of the first individual part 20a is assigned a collar 23d of the second individual part 20b, ie the two collars 23c and 23d assigned to one another circulate around a common air opening 21. In other words, collars 23c, 23d which are assigned to one another form a pair of collars. In a pair of collars, the collar 23c of the first individual part 20a has a larger or maximally equal inner diameter d i than the outer diameter d a (ie the diameter on the side away from the air opening) of the collar 23d. The two individual parts 20a, 20b are then assembled to the wall 20 such that the pairs of collars 23c, 23d are arranged "in one another" or in other words the collars 23c, 23d "overlap" in the z-direction (direction of the airflow 13).

Bemerkungen:

Remarks:
  • In the sectional views ( Figures 2 . 3 and 4 ) are cut surfaces hatched.
  • The terms "axial" and "lateral" refer to a direction parallel to an axis of rotation of the laundry drum (coordinate axis z) as in FIG FIG. 1 defined or in a direction perpendicular thereto (coordinate axes x and y).

While preferred embodiments of the invention are described in the present application, it should be clearly understood that the invention is not limited to these and may be practiced otherwise within the scope of the following claims.
