Das Abschalten der Stromzufuhr erfolgt dann durch nochmaliges Treten auf die Taste. Die Einstellung eines Gebläseleistungswerts kann auf unterschiedliche Art erfolgen. In den einfachsten Varianten ist ein Drehschalter vorhanden, über den der Wert eingestellt wird, komfortablere Ausführungsformen besitzen +/- Tasten, d. h. zwei weitere Schalter, mit denen der Gebläseleistungswert erhöht oder abgesenkt wird. Auch fußbetätigbare Schieberegler sind denkbar. Insbesondere bei Staubsaugern mit +/- Tasten kann es dazu kommen, dass bei Betätigung der Taste zum Einschalten des Gebläsemotors versehentlich eine der Tasten zum Ändern des Gebläseleistungswerts mit betätigt wird. Da Benutzer von Staubsaugern den einmal eingestellten Gebläseleistungswert nur selten ändern, wird dessen versehentliche Änderung nicht registriert und der Staubsauger arbeitet mit einer unerwünschten Gebläseleistung.Such a vacuum cleaner is manufactured by the applicant and sold under the type designation S5311. Dabei wird davon ausgegangen, dass eine solche gleichzeitige Betätigung der beiden Schalter fast immer versehentlich erfolgt und deshalb unerwünscht ist. Diese kontrolliert zunächst einmal mit Hilfe des Vergleichers 16, ob innerhalb eines vorgegebenen Zeitraums auch die Einschalttaste 7 betätigt wurde. Ist dies der Fall, geht die Auswerteschaltung 12 von einer ungewollten Betätigung der Plus- oder Minustaste 9 bzw. 10 beim Einschalten der Stromzufuhr (Betätigung der Taste 7) aus und schreibt den eingestellten Gebläseleistungswert nicht in den Datenspeicher 13. Ist der Zeitraum verstrichen, geht die Auswerteschaltung 12 von einer gewollten Änderung des Gebläseleistungswerts aus. Das Überschreiben des neuen Werts in den Datenspeicher 13 erfolgt dann mit einer Zeitverzögerung, welche durch die Verzögerungsschaltung 15 verursacht wird.
