- the invention relates to a process for the preparation of polymer blends of i) polypropylene carbonate and ii) at least one further polymer, comprising the steps:
- Granules or powder of polypropylene carbonate tend due to the low glass transition temperature, which is usually below 40 0 C, for caking. As a result, the transport, storage and handling of the material is considerably more difficult. So kön- nen in enclosed spaces such as those achieved with containerized transport temperatures of up to 70 0 C. As a result, polypropylene carbonate and can not be further processed without treatment. In the presence of soft If, for example, the cyclic propylene carbonate which is a by-product of the preparation, the glass transition temperature may be lower than 30 ° C. Even though the polypropylene carbonate contains substoichiometric amounts of carbon dioxide, the glass transition temperature is significantly lower. In these types of polypropylene carbonate, the tendency to cake is particularly pronounced.
- polypropylene carbonate is used in admixture with other polymers. Depending on the nature and amount of the mixture component, it is a one-phase or multi-phase mixtures. If the mixing components have a higher glass transition temperature or, in the case of crystalline or semicrystalline polymers, melting temperature, then the glass transition temperature or softening temperature of the mixture is sometimes significantly higher than that of the pure polyphenylene carbonate.
- the processes described in the literature for the preparation of polypropylene carbonate mixtures are carried out by mixing the granules of the individual components, then melting the granulate mixture in the extruder and discharging with subsequent granulation (WO 2007/125039, JP2007 161837).

Zu Schritt (a):
Zu Schritt (e) (Verfahrensvariante I = Schritt (f) Verfahrensvariante II):
Zu Schritt (f) (Verfahrensvariante I = Schritt (e) Verfahrensvariante II):
