Definitions

  • the invention relates to a protective suit according to the preamble of claim 1, such as a firefighting suit or protective suit for use in working in a contaminated environment, such as a chemical protective suit.
  • the protective suit has a hood on which a viewing window is embedded.
  • a lighting device is provided, by means of which a field of view generated by the viewing window for a user can be at least partially illuminated.
  • the illumination device has lighting means which are positioned on the viewing window.
  • protective suits are known in which commercially available lamps, in particular pocket flashlights, are used for illuminating a working area.
  • holding devices are provided on the protective suits, on which the lamps can be fixed during use, such as in a lateral region of the hood.
  • a disadvantage of such lighting devices is that they protrude from the rest of the protective suit and thus can easily tilt in use with existing objects at each site.
  • the respective field of view of the user can often be insufficiently illuminated with such a lighting device, since the light cone generated moves relative to the field of view or shadows are generated.
  • the attachment and detachment of such lighting devices is relatively complex and must often be made by another person.
  • US 2007/0028372 A1 describes a protective suit, in particular for medical personnel, which has a lighting unit on a viewing window.
  • the lighting unit is held on a headband, which is worn under a hood.
  • the object of the invention is to avoid the disadvantages mentioned in a generic protective suit and to allow improved illumination of the field of view and a trouble-free wearing the same.
  • a protective suit having the features of claim 1. Thereafter, the lens is connected via a frame device with a hood material of the remaining hood, such as a multilayer material with an outer layer of a flame or chemical-resistant material.
  • the illumination device on fastening means for fixing to the frame device.
  • the illumination device can be attached to a rigid part of the protective suit at least in the region comprising the light sources, whereby it occupies a more stable position during use and thereby also the light cone can be held positionally stable in the field of vision of the user.
  • the lighting means may be formed by a single light-emitting element, such as a light bulb, a fluorescent tube or an LED or by a plurality of such lighting elements.
  • the illumination device has a housing which can be fixed to the frame device via a screw connection.
  • the lighting device is particularly easy to install and can also be easily removed from the suit, for example, if it is not needed.
  • the housing is held on an inner side of the viewing window and forms a receptacle for the lighting means.
  • the bulbs are partially enclosed by a glare shield.
  • the lighting unit is shielded from the environment to the same extent as the user himself and therefore does not need to have his own shielding against harmful environmental influences, which may be caused for example by heat, moisture or chemical contamination. By glare protection can be ensured that the user is not blinded by the light itself.
  • the lighting means can be activated by means of a brightness sensor. In this way, the lighting device automatically turns on, if the existing light intensity at the site falls below a predetermined value. As a result, the user does not have to do anything of his own during the operation in order to maintain adequate illumination of his work area.
  • a light intensity of the lighting means is controlled as a function of an ambient light intensity determined by the brightness sensor.
  • the illumination device can be set automatically during operation to a respective predetermined light intensity, whereby on the one hand a consistently good view of the user and on the other hand, an optimized energy consumption is possible.
  • the lighting means have at least one LED. As a result, a particularly high longevity and a very low energy consumption during operation of the lighting device can be ensured.
  • the at least one LED is cast into the housing, whereby it can be particularly well protected against mechanical stresses or moisture.
  • the battery assembly is held in a battery bag of the suit, which makes it particularly easy to replace.
  • Fig. 1 shows a lighting device 2 of a protective suit 4 in the form of a fire or chemical protective suit.
  • the illumination device 2 in this case has on a viewing window 6, which is embedded in a hood 8 of the protective suit 4, a housing 10 which serves to receive bulbs 12, which are formed by way of example by LEDs.
  • the LEDs are for the better Protection against moisture and mechanical stress in the example made of aluminum housing 10 cast.
  • the housing 10 of the illumination device 2 is held on a frame device 14 which connects the lens 6 with a hood material 16 of the rest of the hood 8 gas-tight and at the same time limits a field of view, which can be viewed by a protective suit 4 user wearing (not shown).
  • the lamps 12 To power the lamps 12, these are connected via a laid on an inner side of the protective suit 4 connecting cable 18 with a battery assembly 20 having at least one battery or a battery cell.
  • the battery assembly 20 is held in a battery bag 22, which is also provided on the inside of the protective suit 4.
  • a brightness sensor 24 is also provided in the housing 10. By means of this, an ambient light intensity prevailing at the respective place of use can be ascertained as a function of which a light intensity of the lighting means 12 can be controlled.
  • the housing 10 projects with the bulbs 12 and the brightness sensor 24 in a correspondingly sized receptacle 28, which forms the frame device 14 on an inner side 26 of the lens 6.
  • the housing 10 is connected via a screw 30 to the frame device 14.
  • a fastener of the screw 30 while two screws 32 are exemplified each pass through a receiving bore 34 of the housing 10 and are screwed into corresponding threaded holes 36 which are embedded in the frame device 14, as in particular Fig. 4 can be seen.
  • the housing 10 of the lighting device 2 can be relatively easily attached to the lens 6 or removed from it. hereby can the protective suit 4, if necessary, be equipped with the lighting device 2 depending on the intended application.
  • the lighting device 2 When using the protective suit 4 by a user, not shown, the lighting device 2 remains switched off as long as there is sufficient ambient light intensity at the site. However, as soon as it drops below a predetermined value, this is detected by the brightness sensor 24, which emits a corresponding signal to a control device (not shown), which activates the lighting means 12.
  • the control device is designed so that it controls the light intensity of the illumination means 12 as a function of the ambient light intensity determined by the brightness sensor.
  • the light sources 12 formed by the LEDs now generate through the viewing window 6 a cone of light which extends at least over the substantial part of the field of view of the user bounded by the frame device 14.
  • the receptacle 28 additionally acts as a glare shield, which prevents a direct or mirrored on the inside 26 Lichtbeierschlagung of the user by the bulbs 12.
