Claims (12)

  1. Device for coiling a strip (3) with variable strip thickness, preferably a flexible rolled and/or a profile-rolled metal strip which is planar or provided with contours, particularly of steel, to form a coil (2), with a coating device (1) for application of a deformable material to the metal strip (3) to be coiled, wherein the coating device (1), comprises means (11, 22) for producing a flexible, particularly a resilient, material or self-swelling or foamable material and for applying, near the surface, the material to the strip (3) during the coiling process, characterised in that a pressing device, particularly a roller (24), is arranged which is suitable for the purpose of exerting a pressing pressure on the coil (2) in order to compress the coil under deformation of the applied material.
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the material can be applied by doctor blade or sprayed or squirted on from nozzles (22).
  3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the width of the coating device (1) for coating the material on a coil (2) of a metal strip (3) is constructed so that the coating device (1) extends over the entire width of the coil (2) with the metal strip (3) or at least over a part of the width of the coil (2), which covers only the critical zones with pronounced irregularities in the coiling of the metal strip (3).
  4. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the material can be coated on the coil (2) in strips.
  5. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that a plastics material can be coated on the coil (2) from an extruder.
  6. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the means (11, 12) are so constructed that a plastics material to be coated by the means on the strip (3) is formed as a cohesive layer or as a plurality of strips, which lie adjacent to one another in strip running direction, on the coil (2), which each have air inclusions.
  7. Device according to claim 2, characterised by the arrangement of a measuring device for measuring the strip thickness of the strip (3) to be coiled and a regulating device for regulating the material output from the nozzles (22) in correspondence with the measured strip thickness of the strip (3).
  8. Rolling mill for cold or hot unidirectional or reversing rolling of a metal strip (3) with variable strip thickness, particularly a flexible rolled and/or profile-rolled metal strip which is flat or provided with contours, particularly of steel, with a roll stand, which comprises a roll set and an adjusting system for setting the rolling gap, a device, which is upstream of the roll stand, for uncoiling the metal strip to be rolled and a coiling device, which is arranged downstream of the roll stand, according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that a regulating device for regulating the rotational speed of the drives of the two coiling devices with a superordinate control unit regulation for compensation for or regulation of the mass flow changes of the rolled strip and the strip tension speed dependent thereon as well as for regulation of the strip tension is present, particularly at the instants at which the strip acceleration changes when a change in the strip thickness profile occurs.
  9. Method of coiling a metal strip (3) with variable strip thickness, particularly a flexible rolled and/or a profile-rolled metal strip which is flat or provided with contours, particularly of steel, to form a coil (2), in which during the coiling deformable material is coated by a coating device (1) on the metal strip (3) being coiled to form the coil (2), wherein the deformable material is coated on the surface of the strip (3) from nozzles or by means of at least one doctor blade, characterised in that a pressing pressure is exerted on the coil (2) by a pressing device, particularly a roller (24), and in that case the coil is compressed under deformation of the applied material.
  10. Method according to claim 9, characterised in that the material is coated on the material strip (3) with a thickness which is greater than the thickness difference of the metal strip (3) and that subsequently a force is exerted, particularly by means of a roller (24), on the respective uppermost end of the coil (2) in order to so compress the material that an at least substantially cylindrical composite coil (2) of the metal strip (3) and the material arises.
  11. Method according to claim 9 or 10, characterised in that the material is caused to swell up or foam up by addition of an additive shortly before the coating or during coating.
  12. Method according to claim 11, characterised in that the material is caused to swell up or foam up and/or to harden under irradiation, particularly shortly before the coating and/or during the coating.
