Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for detecting goods with a tunnel, in which an optical detection device for detecting a product identifying identifier is arranged and at least partially covers a transport device by means of which the goods are conveyed in the transport direction.
  • the invention relates to a method for detecting goods, wherein the goods are conveyed by means of a transport device in the transport direction through a tunnel in which an optical detection device is arranged to detect the respective goods identifying identifiers.
  • U1 is a self-operated goods detection station known at the customer self-and completely carry out the usually carried out by a cash register acquisition of the goods and subsequent payment of the same.
  • the self-operated goods detection station therefore has a corresponding reading device for detecting a predetermined number of goods, wherein the reading device can be configured for example as an infrared scanner.
  • a data processing device is provided to process the data read in by the infrared scanner and to control a display unit, for example a touch-sensitive screen, which displays the prices of the individual goods or the total amount.
  • the self-operated goods detection station on a payment device, so that the Customer independently can make the payment of the recorded goods and thus concludes the purchase.
  • a weighing device is provided, each with a floor scales arranged on both sides of the reading device. Each time the goods are scanned, the weight is compared. If the weight increase of one floor scale corresponds to the weight loss of the other floor scale, it is assumed that the scanning process has been carried out correctly by the customer, so that the customer is acoustically or visually requested to scan in another product. Especially with improper use, this weight control leads to disturbances that require the intervention of a supervisor. In addition, the control process is relatively complex, since for each product a weight comparison must be made.
  • a device for detecting goods at a stationary goods detection station in which the customer detects by means of a stationary reading device intended for purchase goods.
  • identifiers (identification data) of the goods are determined and forwarded to a registration device so that registration information is collected and output in the form of a purchasing document. Thereafter, the customer can complete the purchase process by making payment at a payment device.
  • an optical control detection device is additionally provided, by means of which random samples of a part of the goods detected by the customer are additionally recorded.
  • the identification data of the detected goods determined in this case are compared with the identification data acquired by the stationary reading device and checked for conformity. After a sequential check, if the identifier data matches, a confirmation signal is generated, so that the payment process can be completed by the customer. If a mismatch is detected, that is, by means of the optical control detecting device, a product is detected that has not been detected by the customer, a correction signal is generated so that it can be acted upon that the goods not detected by the customer detected by the stationary reading device and then the purchase process can be completed by paying. Since the optical control detecting means is disposed above a tray table, the size and thus capacity for the goods is limited, the known device can be used only for relatively small shopping carts. When it comes to the purchase of relatively large shopping carts, that is, a relatively large number of goods to buy, as is often the case in supermarkets, the receiving table of the device reaches a capacity limit, which delays the purchasing process or makes handling easier by the customer ,
  • a device for detecting goods which has a tunnel in which an optical detection device for the automatic detection of goods identifying identifiers (identification data) is arranged.
  • the goods are conveyed through the tunnel by means of a transport device comprising conveyor belts, wherein the optical detection device is designed so that all goods located in the tunnel are detected.
  • This is a fully automatic relieving the customer Warehousing ensures, however, has the disadvantage that the detection process is extended in time when the goods are in a position in which can not be read by the optical detection device. In this case, the goods must be returned and sent for subsequent identification.
  • document WO-A-95/04491 discloses a device according to the preamble of independent claim 1.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to specify a device and a method for detecting goods in such a way that the handling of a purchase process for in particular a large number of goods containing shopping carts is improved on a self-operated goods detection area and on the other hand, the purchase process is not disturbing Verification of the customer's registration is guaranteed.
  • the device according to the invention in conjunction with the preamble of claim 1 is characterized in that, by means of the optical control detection device is detected in comparison to the number of goods detected by the goods detection device lower number of control goods.
  • the particular advantage of the invention is that by a tunnel control detection device, especially for large shopping carts, an effective and simplified verification of the customer at a self-operated goods detection station goods collection is guaranteed. While the goods are collected by the customer alone, the check of the goods in the tunnel is based on a predetermined number of inspections of goods smaller than the number of goods entered by the customer.
  • the invention is based on the assumption that the customer generally covers the goods completely. Only in rare cases, for example, where the customer forgets inadvertently scanning a commodity, the identification of this error can be detected with a certain probability by controlling a smaller number of goods.
  • the optical control detecting means is designed such that the control number of goods to be detected by them forms a sample of the total number of goods. The fact that only one sample is tracked, the control can be done without delay. If a product is not recordable, another product may be entered instead. It is essential that a given number of checks on goods be "tracked". The number of checks depends on, for example, the number of errors obtained by statistical surveys in the case of customer acquisition.
  • a checking device by means of which the identifiers identification data) of the goods detected by the optical control detecting device are checked for conformity with the identifications detected by the customer. If a non-conformity is found, it can be assumed that the customer accidentally the goods in question or fraudulently scanned yourself. In this case, a corresponding correction signal is emitted by means of a reporting device, so that, for example, a supervisor can influence the purchase process to the effect that the goods not covered by the customer are subsequently registered.
  • the optical control detection device has an image acquisition device, in particular a digital camera, so that detection of the goods with relatively high identification security (100%) is made possible with suitable object recognition software.
  • the image acquisition device is programmed by means of the object recognition software such that as far as possible all goods are at least partially detected. By presetting a sample size of 30% of all goods collected or provided, the image data of those goods that have been uniquely identified are processed further.
  • the control detection device has such a number and / or arrangement of image acquisition devices that the goods deposited on a conveyor belt of the transport device are detected by the optical control detection device. This ensures that a large number of goods with high identification security can be detected.
  • the inventive method in conjunction with the preamble of claim 11 is characterized in that in the tunnel only a part of the goods detected by the goods detection device is detected in a control process by the optical detection device.
  • the particular advantage of the method according to the invention is that, by checking the goods registration by means of an optical control detection device integrated in a tunnel, it is possible effectively and simply to ensure a goods detection check on a self-serviced goods detection station.
  • the handling for the customer is simplified because he has to supply the self-collected goods only a transport device.
  • the verification of the goods registration is then carried out automatically by an optical detection device by an integrated in the tunnel optical control detection device. After the inspection, the customer can remove the goods at one end of the tunnel or the transport device and put them back in the shopping cart.
  • the transport device can serve as a storage for the goods after goods have been collected by the customer.
  • the purchase process is not delayed significantly.
  • a collection tray at one end of the transport allows targeted collection of goods, which are then conveniently packed back into the shopping cart by the customer - as he is used to in conventional, not self-service POS systems.
  • a self-operated goods detection station 1 is preferably arranged in an exit area of a sales room (supermarket) and serves to capture and pay for goods or items (shopping cart) by a customer K himself, without having to use a cashier.
  • the self-operated goods detection station 1 has a goods detection device 2 for detecting goods 3 of a customer 5 provided by the customer K in a shopping cart 4 and a payment device 6 for paying the purchase price.
  • the goods detection device 2 has as a reading device on a scanner (bar code reader), by means of which attached to the goods 3 bar codes (identifiers) for identifying the goods 3 are readable.
  • the bar code reader 2 may be integrated in a terminal, the customer K holding the goods 3 to be detected on a scanning disk. By a corresponding signal tone, the correct detection of the goods 3 is signaled.
  • the payment device 6 is arranged integrated in a terminal that has an inlet for coins and / or banknotes and an outlet for change. For cashless payments, a card reader protrudes from the terminal.
  • the terminal of the goods detection device 2 and the terminal of the payment device 6 can be arranged adjacent to each other or form a common terminal as separate modules.
  • the goods detection station 1 has a transport device 7 and a tunnel 8 assigned to the transport device 7 with an integrated optical control detection device 9.
  • the transport device 7 has a frame 10 with a conveyor belt 11, on which the goods 3 after goods registration on the goods detection device 2 by the customer K from a first end 12 of the transport device 7 in the transport direction T. to be promoted to a second end 13 thereof.
  • the first end 12 of the transport device 7 or of the conveyor belt 11 designed as an endless conveyor belt is arranged on a side facing the goods detection device 2 and the second end 13 is arranged on a side facing away from the goods detection device 2.
  • a collecting compartment 14 connects, in which the sequentially subsidized goods 3 are collected after the control detection and provided for the customer K for removal and placement in the shopping cart. 4
  • the transport device 7 is partially covered by the tunnel 8, which may for example have a length L such that a required number of optical image acquisition devices can be mounted.
  • the tunnel 8 may for example also be designed as a gate, on the inside of which at least one image acquisition device is positioned.
  • the image acquisition device is aligned with the upper run of the conveyor belt 11, on which the goods 3 are transported.
  • the image capture device may be configured as a digital camera with a CCD sensor.
  • the image acquisition devices can be arranged, for example, on lateral columns of the tunnel 8 or on a transverse bar 15 thereof.
  • the goods detection device 2 and / or the payment device 6 and / or the control detection device 9 is associated with a registration device 16 containing a data processing device, so that the detected by the goods detection device 2 identifiers (characteristics K 1 ) can be processed for identification.
  • Price data is assigned to the goods entered.
  • corresponding registration information can be generated, which consist essentially of a list of the goods 3 and the corresponding prices and the total amount.
  • the registration information can then, after confirmation by the control detection device 9 in a touch-sensitive screen of the payment device 6 are shown and printed after payment by means of a built-in terminal 6 printer in the form of a registration.
  • the registration ticket can also be printed out immediately after the scanning by the goods recording device 2, whereby the customer K then has to scan it again before paying the purchase price.
  • the optical control detecting device 9 In order to check whether the customer K has completely and correctly scanned the goods 3 of his shopping basket 5, a random check is carried out by the optical control detecting device 9.
  • This control detecting device 9 detects the goods 3 fed on the conveyor belt 11 and forwards the generated image data as identifiers or Identification data K 2 to the registration device 16 on.
  • the registration device 16 has a checking device 18 in which the image data K 2 provided by the optical control detecting device 9 are processed.
  • the registration device may comprise a control program 17 control 16, by means of which the image data K 2 3 corresponding identification data K 2 of a review be delivered only to a portion of the commodities to the total. This selection of the image data K 2 takes place on a random basis, whereby less than half of the goods 3 detected by the control detection device 9 and provided for the purchase process by the customer K are supplied to the inspection.
  • This sample does not have to refer to goods 3 of a single customer K. It can also be provided that the random sample refers to goods 3 of a group of customers K, so that occasionally the goods 3 provided by a customer K do not even correspond to the goods 3 actually covered by the customer K. is checked.
  • the checking device 18 has a comparison program 19, by means of which the correspondence of the goods 3 additionally detected by the control detecting device 9 with the goods 3 detected by the customers K is checked. For this purpose, the correspondingly prepared identification data K1 of the goods 3, which the customer K has detected by means of the goods detection device 2 , are compared with the identification data K 2 which the control detection device 9 has detected.
  • the identification data K 2 of the controlled goods 3 by means of the comparison program 19 after sequential assignment of the identification data K 2 to the identification data K 1 in step 20 in a further step 21 gradually the goods detection device 2 compared identification data K 2 compared. If a match has been found, a confirmation signal 22 is generated, so that the identification data K 2 of the next goods 3 can be checked. If the match is negative, a correction signal 23 is generated, which is transmitted to a reporting device 24 for the delivery of an alarm signal.
  • the signaling device 24 may be formed by a red light emitting signal lamp, which rises in a columnar form of the registration device 16.
  • the confirmation signal 22 effects a printing of the purchasing document by means of a printer integrated in the registering device 16.
