Description

1. Domaine de l'invention1. Field of the invention

L'invention se rapporte aux escaliers hélicoïdaux. The invention relates to helical stairs.

More particularly, the invention applies to helical staircases comprising a central mast intended to be arranged vertically and adapted to support steps each extending in a substantially horizontal plane.

2. Solutions de l'art antérieur2. Solutions of the prior art

The spiral staircases, or spiral staircases, are conventionally laid between two floors located at different levels of a dwelling, for example between the ground floor and the cellar. To do this, a hopper is arranged in the floor of the ground floor.

A disadvantage of such a staircase is that it does not allow the passage of bulky objects, in particular because it is helical, and in particular when the hopper has a small section. The document FR 2 921 398 concerns a temporary spiral staircase consisting of several superimposed modules. The lower module is provided with a base which can be provided with wheels. The document FR 1 231 558 relates to a retractable staircase comprising a central column on which are freely stacked steps and means for immobilizing the steps relative to each other.

3. Objectifs de l'invention3. Objectives of the invention

The invention particularly aims to overcome these disadvantages of the prior art.

More specifically, an object of the invention is to provide a helical staircase which allows the passage of bulky objects and which does not restrict the passage available to the user.

Another object of the invention is to provide a helical staircase which is simple to install and which is particularly suitable for hoppers of small section.

The invention also aims, according to at least one embodiment, to provide a staircase whose dimensions are adaptable according to the available volume, including the dimensions of the hopper, the height between floors and the access faces of the staircase.

The invention also aims, in at least one embodiment, to provide a helical staircase which provides a level of security satisfactory to users, which can be customized and offers the aesthetics of a traditional staircase.

4. Caractéristiques essentielles de l'invention4. Essential characteristics of the invention

    disposées autour dudit mât central ;
These objectives, as well as others which will appear later, are achieved by means of a retractable spiral staircase comprising a central mast intended to be arranged vertically and adapted to support steps each extending in a substantially horizontal plane. at least a part of the steps being rotatably mounted relative to the central mast, in their respective substantially horizontal planes, and at least two of said steps being fixed to said mast, said central mast being able to assume at least two positions:
  • a first position, said position of function, in which said steps are
    arranged around said central mast;
  • a second position, said retracted position, wherein said steps are aligned vertically.

According to the invention, and contrary to known spiral staircases whose mast is fixed at its base on the ground by a sealed plate or by embedding, the mast of the staircase is movable, while remaining vertical, said at least two steps comprising connecting means by pivot to a wall.

Thus, the mast can move in a horizontal plane (more precisely, the base of the mast moves along the floor) and is therefore movable between two positions. The mast can be moved against a wall in a retracted position and the steps can be aligned vertically, so that the assembly formed by the mast and therefore the steps is effectively retracted.

The mast (and steps) can take two positions, respectively corresponding to a helical staircase and a vertical ladder.

This makes it possible to release the hopper where is deployed the staircase for the passage of bulky objects for example.

In a particular embodiment of the invention, the lower end of the mast comprises rolling means on the ground.

Preferably, at least part of said steps is equipped with a locking device.

In a particular embodiment of the invention, the upper end of said mast is intended to cooperate, in the first position, with means for maintaining the mast.

Preferably, said steps comprise a ring intended to be threaded onto said central mast. Such a ring may be provided on its upper face and / or lower a lug (or stop) for locking in rotation of said step.

Advantageously, said steps comprise at least one gripping zone. Thus, in said second position, the aligned steps can be used as a ladder.

Description of an embodiment of the invention

Next, a particular embodiment of the retractable helical staircase of the invention is presented.

The staircase of the invention comprises a mast or central shaft 2 constituted by a hollow tubular column comprising overthicknesses 2 'at regular intervals along the mast, shown in FIG. figure 4 . The mast 2 is, in this example, made of metal. The central mast 2 is intended to be arranged vertically between two floors 4, 6 and is adapted to support a set of steps 100 to 119 each extending in a substantially horizontal plane.

Sur la figure 1A, l'escalier 10 est en position déployée et sur la figure 2, l'escalier 10 est en position escamotée contre le mur 14.On the Figure 1A , the staircase 10 is in the deployed position and on the figure 2 , the staircase 10 is in the retracted position against the wall 14.

Each step 100, ..., 119 comprises a tread substantially having, in this example, a substantially triangular shape as illustrated. Figures 10A to 10C and figures 11 especially. More specifically, each step 100,..., 119 comprises a load-bearing frame or step support 30 arranged to receive a step top 31 ( figure 7 ). The steps 100 to 119 are, in this embodiment, used for a staircase with left propeller, but they can obviously be used for a staircase with propeller on the right.

Each step 100, ..., 119 is fixed to the central mast 2 by means of a spacer sleeve or ring 3. This spacer sleeve 3 allows the removable mounting of the step support on the central mast 2, by simply threading on this last. The spacer sleeve 3 preferably has a cylindrical shape and an internal diameter allowing it to slide without play on the central mast 2. Its standardized height corresponds to the standardized height of each step 100, ..., 119. Once the steps 100, ..., 119 mounted on the mast 2, each sleeve 3 occupies the space between two oversizes 2 ', the sleeves 3 are juxtaposed so that the central mast 2 is no longer visible once the assembled staircase.

It should be noted that with the exception of steps 103 and 114 (represented on Figures 10A and 10B ) which are secured to the central mast 2, the steps 100 to 102, 104 to 113 and 115 to 119 are rotatably mounted on the central mast 2, in their substantially horizontal plane.

The Figure 1B is a view of the frame of the staircase of the invention showing the steps 103 and 114 which are immobilized on the central mast 2 by means of a pinning, an expandable sleeve (not shown) or by any other means appropriate. The steps 103 and 114 are each connected to the masonry 14 by a pivot 201, 201 'respectively. More specifically, each step frame 103, 114 comprises a hollow cylinder 202, 202 'respectively intended to cooperate in rotation with the pivot 201, 201' respectively. These pivots 201, 201 'are for example screwed to a support part 210 (shown alone on the figure 12 ) which is fixed vertically to the wall 14. It should be noted that regardless of the position of the stair (retracted, deployed or in the intermediate position), the steps 103 and 114 remain vertically aligned.

The figure 7 is a detailed view of the step 103, substantially triangular shape, which is connected to the mast 2 through a spacer sleeve 3 located at the top of the triangle. The step 103 further comprises, at one end of the base of the triangle, a hollow cylinder 202 of vertical axis parallel to the central mast 2 which is therefore intended to cooperate with the pivot 201.

Thus, the central mast 2 of the staircase is connected to the wall 14 in rotation through these two steps 103 and 114, called upper pivot step 103 and lower pivot step 114, and pivots 201, 201 '. According to the invention, the central mast 2 is movable between the deployed and retracted positions of the staircase illustrated on the Figures 1A and 2 respectively.

So, on the Figure 1A , the central mast 2 is disposed in the center of the hopper 12 and the steps are arranged around the central mast 2 (extended position).

On the figure 2 , the movable steps 100 to 102 and 104 to 119 were pivoted around the central mast 2 and aligned vertically with the pivot steps 103 and 114, and the mast 2 was moved against the wall 14 (retracted position).

Un support 16 et un axe 17 permettent le montage du galet 18 à l'extrémité inférieure du mât central 2 comme illustré sur la vue de la figure 6.The figure 6 is a detail view of the staircase of the invention showing the lower end of the central mast 2 which is provided with a roller 18 of load recovery. This roller 18 allows the central mast 2 to be rolled on the floor 6 of the lower floor so as to deploy or retract the stairs. A support 16 and an axis 17 allow the roller 18 to be mounted at the lower end of the central mast 2 as illustrated in the view of FIG. figure 6 .

In an alternative, it is contemplated the implementation of a high density polyethylene pad (HDPE) to move the mast on the ground.

The staircase of the invention is particularly suitable for small section hoppers (referenced 12) and allows optimization of the space used when it is deployed.

When it is retracted, it fills a small volume (in other words, the space it occupies, or the footprint and volume, is reduced) and frees the space of the hopper 12, allowing thus the passage of voluminous objects. Such a staircase is particularly suitable for developing a sub-plex or a floor.

Such a staircase makes it possible not to restrict, or to restrict only very slightly (compared to conventional stairs) the passage available to the user and uses a minimum space in the folded position. It ensures an adequate level of security for users and offers the aesthetics of a traditional staircase.

The figure 8 is a detail view of the staircase of the invention showing the conical centering and locking device 29 of the mast 2 on the upper platform 28 which allows the mast 2 to be held when the staircase is deployed ( Figure 1A ), thus improving the overall stability (and therefore safety). The Figure 5A shows a circular piece 26 mounted at the upper end of the mast 2 on which the plate 28 is pressed when it is folded down, the piece 26 and the platform 28 comprising a central orifice 26 'and 28' ( figure 14A ) respectively in which is housed the lower tip-shaped upper railing 8 of the staircase.

The platform 28 illustrated on the figure 14A is pivotally connected to the upper floor 4 through the connecting piece 27 shown in FIG. figure 15 . This connecting piece 27 is fixed to the upper floor 4 by screws and comprises two hinges 20, 21 intended to cooperate with hinges 22, 23 of the platform 28 (the Figure 14B which is a detail view of the figure 14A shows such hinge 22). Thus, folding the platform 28 by pivoting makes it possible to lock the mast 2 and to stiffen the stairway when it is deployed.

The figure 3A is a top view of the hopper 12 and the staircase 10 of the invention when it is in operation, the steps being arranged around the mast 2 and the platform 28 being folded in a plane substantially parallel to the horizontal planes of the steps .

The figure 3B is a top view of the hopper 12 and the staircase 10 of the invention when it is retracted, the steps being arranged one above the other and the mast 2 being disposed against the wall 14, thus releasing the In addition, the platform 28 is raised in a plane perpendicular to the planes of the steps, thus clearing the hopper 12.

It will be noted that the staircase of the invention has a helical ramp to ensure the safety of the users, this ramp consisting of a plurality of removable guardrails 5 in which passes a wire rope 7, for example. The figure 13 represents the upper railing 8 of the staircase of the invention that can be distinguished on the Figures 1A and 1B . This upper railing 8 is, as previously mentioned, mounted removably on the platform 28, and can be removed when the staircase 10 is retracted ( figure 2 ).

The Figures 9A and 9B are respectively views of a guard foot 9 securable to a walk by screwing and a removable guard 5. It is understood that the stem of the guardrail foot 9 ( Figure 9A ) is designed to be housed in the hollow lower end of the guardrail 5 ( Figure 9B ) and that the cable 7 passes into the ring 11 located at the upper end of the railing 5.

The figure 6 shows the locking device of the staircase in the form of a locking pin 15 located under each of the movable steps rotation 102, 113 and 119 (the latter being represented on the figure 6 ). Each of these pins is associated with a pin for locking all the steps. This device ensures the locking of the moving steps, in a functional position ( Figure 1A ) or retracted ( figure 2 ) of the staircase 10 (to secure the function ladder in the latter position as will be seen later).

The figure 16A is a partial view of the staircase of the invention when it is in operation or deployed, at the level of the upper pivot step 103. The figure 16B is a sectional view along AA of the stairs of the figure 16A , the figure 16C being a detail view of the figure 16B at the central mast. In the embodiment described, ten movable steps 104 to 113 are interposed between the upper pivot step 103 and the lower pivot step 114. The pivot steps 103 and 114 are aligned vertically (they are therefore separated by an angle of 360 °). , the angle between each step is 32.73 ° when the staircase is deployed (as shown figure 16B ). We distinguish on the Figures 16A and 16B the arrangement of the steps 101 to 105 of the staircase when it is deployed, the angle between the steps being 32.73 °.

The Figure 17A is a partial view of the staircase of the invention when it is retracted, at the upper pivot step 103, the steps 101 to 105 are therefore vertically aligned the angle between the steps is 0 °). The Figure 17B is a sectional view along BB of the stairs of the Figure 17A , the figure 17C being a detail view of the Figure 17B at the central mast.

On notera toutefois que la marche pivot inférieure 114 ne comprend pas d'ergot sur son contour supérieur 41 mais seulement sur son contour inférieur 42 (figure 10A).Angular stops or lugs 24 formed on the upper contours 41 and lower 42 of the spacer sleeves or rings 3 of the steps allow two relative positions of each moving step ( Figure 10C ) and the upper pivoting step ( figure 10B ), namely a stop position in staircase position ( Figure 1A ) and a retracted stop position ( figure 2 ). It should be noted, however, that the lower pivoting step 114 does not comprise a lug on its upper contour 41 but only on its lower contour 42 (FIG. figure 10A ).

For the sake of clarity, we will take into account only the steps 103 to 114 to explain the retraction kinematics of the staircase of the invention.

When the staircase is in operation, two successive steps are spaced from each other at an angle of 32.73 ° ( Figures 16B and 16C ), the steps 103 and 114 being fixed, and the angular stops in the staircase position. When the user wishes to store or retract the stair 10 against the wall 14, it unlocks the step 113 (using the lever 15 which actuates the locking pin corresponding) and turns the step 113 by an angle of 32 , 73 ° in the counterclockwise direction until the step 113 comes into contact with the stop of the step 112 which is therefore positioned above (or aligned vertically with) the step 113 ( Figures 17B and 17C ). Thus, by again turning the step 113 32.73 ° in the counterclockwise direction, it causes the step 112 until the step 112 comes into contact with the stop of the step 111 which is then positioned above (or vertically aligned with) steps 112 and 113.

La rotation de la marche 113 est répétée neuf fois (c'est-à-dire que la marche 113 est pivotée de 294,57°) jusqu'à obtenir l'alignement des marches 103 à 114.The rotation of the step 113 is repeated nine times (i.e., the step 113 is rotated 294.57 °) until the steps 103 to 114 are aligned.

It is easy to deduce that this same operation of rotation of the steps is also performed for the sets of steps 115 to 119 and 100 to 102.

Une fois que toutes les marches 100 à 119 sont alignées verticalement, l'utilisateur peut déplacer en rotation le mât central 2 par rapport au mur (par le biais des deux marches pivot supérieure 103 et inférieure 114) jusqu'à ce que l'ensemble formé par les marches 100 à 119 et le mât 2 soit au voisinage du mur 14 comme illustré sur la figure 2.Once all the steps 100 to 119 are aligned vertically, the user can rotate the central mast 2 relative to the wall (through the two upper pivot 103 and lower 114 steps) until the assembly formed by the steps 100 to 119 and the mast 2 is in the vicinity of the wall 14 as shown in FIG. figure 2 .

To move the stairs from the retracted position to the deployed position, reverse operations are performed.

The Figure 10C illustrates an example of a frame of a moving step in rotation of the staircase of the invention. The framework of such a step allows a custom dressing of the tread in a material such as metal, wood, glass or stone for example. The frame is optimized to provide minimum mass and maximum strength. The environment, stair nosing, railing, lighting are determined according to the constraints of the environment and customer's wishes. Like all the moving steps in rotation 100 to 102, 104 to 113 and 115 to 119 of the staircase, the frame 30 of the pivot steps 103 and 114 is customizable and may be covered by a trim piece 31 (screwed by example).

Comme mentionné précédemment, le verrouillage de l'escalier en postion escamotée permet de sécuriser la fonction « échelle ».As illustrated in the particular embodiment of the figure 11 , apertures or gripping cutouts 40 in the pivotally movable steps in rotation allow to use the assembly as a ladder. This allows, in the retracted position of the staircase, to help transport a bulky object, without having to add a ladder. Thus, in this particular embodiment, the staircase can be used in its two positions. As mentioned above, the locking of the staircase in retracted position makes it possible to secure the "ladder" function.

Alternatively, the staircase 10 can be retracted into a housing in the wall 14 to further reduce the footprint in this position.

The Figure 5B is a perspective view of the upper sleeve 13 which is intended to be placed at the upper end of the central mast 2 and thus above the spacer sleeve 3 of the step 100. This sleeve 13 thus allows the platform 28 of be secured to the central mast 2 in the same plane as the floor 4 and to be perfectly flat when the stair 10 is in function.

The shape of the tread steps is not limited to that illustrated but may take the form of a disc section, for example.

In addition, the railings may not be removed when the staircase 10 is retracted. In this variant, the steps are preferably in the form of a section of a circle / disk and the guardrail feet 9 are each arranged along the circular portion of the associated step, at a different angle from the guard foot of the step next and the previous, so that the bodyguards 5 juxtapose compactly when the staircase is retracted.

The dimensions of the staircase 10 are adaptable according to the available volume, in particular the dimensions (height and width) of the hopper 12, the height between the floors and the access faces of the staircase.

Depending on the size of the stairs, the number of steps connected to the wall by pivot may vary. In a variant, the rack support 16 solidaire central mast 2 may be connected to the ground by a pivot connection.

The mast can be made of any other material that provides the required strength (maximum strength) with a minimum footprint.

We can also vary the number of steps as needed.

Alternatively, the steps may line respectively to the left and right of the mast, or one could predict that, as needed, only the top or bottom steps are folded.

In a particular embodiment, the staircase may be motorized so that the steps and / or the mast are moved from the deployed position to the retracted position, and vice versa, automatically.
