Claims (10)

  1. Wheelchair having at least a braking device (32) for braking a wheel (28) of the wheelchair with a brake lever (8), which is engaged with a mechanical system, by means of which a brake element (4) can be moved into a free-wheeling position, in which the wheel (28) is not braked by the brake element (4), and into a locking position, in which the wheel (28) is braked by the brake element (4), wherein the brake lever (8) can be turned down, characterized in that the brake lever (8) is rigidly coupled to the mechanical system in the free-wheeling position and can only be disengaged to turn down with the mechanical system when the brake element (4) is in the locked position.
  2. Wheelchair according to Claim 1, characterized in that the brake element (4) can be moved from the free-wheeling position into the locked position by a pivoting movement of the brake lever (8) about a pivoting axis A.
  3. Wheelchair according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the brake lever (8) can be disengaged from the mechanical system by a translational movement perpendicular to the pivoting axis A.
  4. Wheelchair according to Claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the brake lever (8) can be turned down by a pivoting movement about the pivoting axis A.
  5. Wheelchair according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the braking device (32) has a bolt (22) which interacts with a sliding block guide (24), such that said bolt is introduced into the sliding block guide (24) when the brake lever (8) is disengaged from the mechanical system.
  6. Wheelchair according to Claim 5, characterized in that an end position stop (26) is provided in the sliding block guide (24), which is abutted by the bolt (22) when the brake lever (8) is turned down.
  7. Wheelchair according to Claim 6, characterized in that the sliding block guide (24) becomes narrower in the direction of the end position stop (26).
  8. Wheelchair according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the brake lever (8) in the turned down position is prestressed by a force element (20) provided for this.
  9. Wheelchair according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that two braking devices (32) are provided.
  10. Wheelchair according to Claim 9, characterized in that the braking devices (32) are designed as mirror images.
